Benin
Country in West Africa
Benin, a French-speaking West African nation, is a birthplace of the vodun (or “voodoo”) religion and home to the former Dahomey Kingdom from circa 1600–1900. In Abomey, Dahomey's former capital, the Historical Museum occupies two royal palaces with bas-reliefs recounting the kingdom’s past and a throne mounted on human skulls. To the north, Pendjari National Park offers safaris with elephants, hippos and lions. ― Google

Sometimes your dreams really do come true. Two and a half years ago, I landed in Savalou, Benin for the annual Vodou Festival. Benin 🇧🇯 is the only country on the whole continent of A F R I C A that acknowledges #indigenous #africanreligion with an official government holiday on January 10th (schools, gov offices, banks, etc all closed).
My Brooklyn to Benin vision was actualized and here I was in Doissa, a small village in Savalou. This voyage was historical, emotional and oh so necessary.
And now I was being asked to dance. Folks in the living and the spiritual world wanted to see what this daughter from across the waters knew and remembered. Lol.
So what do you think I did?

Best Places to Explore In Africa Abuja, Lagos, Ouagadougou
A touch less novel, yet at the same time great, is the capital-sort, advanced fabulous mosques in Abuja, Lagos, Ouagadougou, and other significant urban areas in the area you may explore with Arik Airline
The way of life of West Africa is profoundly religious, and a great part of the social life and landmarks spin around deep sense of being. Of Muslim structural planning, most voyagers discover the mud-constructed Sudano-Sahelian mosques to be of the most hobby. The area's most renowned, both of the Volta bowl style, incorporate the Larabanga Mosque just outside Mole National Park in Ghana and the Grand Mosque of Bobo-Dialassou.
For Christian structural engineering, the most clear place to visit is the Basilica of Our Lady of Peace in Yamoussoukro. The basilica is actually the biggest church on the planet, in front of St. Diminish's Cathedral in the Vatican, from which its more present day outline draws motivation. Other fascinating Christian structures incorporate the inquisitively mosque-like Dakar Cathedral and the strikingly present day St Paul's Cathedral in Abidjan.
You can go anyplace on the planet to see awesome works of Christian and Muslim structural engineering we should get to the Voodoo! Benin is the otherworldly country of voodoo (which imparts much in like manner to customary religious convictions all through West Africa) and neighboring Togo is another focal point of far reaching Vodun rehearse. Cotonou's Grande Marche du Dantopka are the world's epicenter for acquiring voodoo fixations, brimming with monkey skulls, lion paws, and a wide range of different less hostile charms. Lomé's Marche de Feticheurs are likely the second greatest interest market in Africa, yet some more touristy—they charge for confirmation! Voodoo is some more occulted in Ghana and Nigeria, yet at the same time all that much present (have a go at scanning Jamestown in Accra for the timber market). Sanctum like voodoo fixations are scattered all through Togo and Benin, with the biggest being Dankoli interest close Savalou. Togoville is the inside of voodoo practice in Togo, and its interests and hallowed places are curiously compared against its extensive house of prayer. Ghana is likewise a compensating destination for those inspired by nearby religious and social convictions. The Ashanti area around Kumasi is specked with hallowed places.
For exploring the beauty of West African super destinations, choose Arik Air London services today and make your summer holiday splendid in the African society. In spite of an extensive number of national parks, tourism in the wild is subtle in Africa's most swarmed district. Also, countless Africa's secured territories are in earnest straits, undermined by political clash and rebellion, either present or verifiable. The most went to stops are those that are simplest to reach, in nations with fair transportation foundation. Ghana's Kakum National Park is in all trustworthiness, not that amazing, but rather is simply off the primary beachfront street, and is to a great degree famous. Ghana's northern Mole National Park, then again, is harder to get to, yet at the same time prevalent in its predominant untamed life seeing open doors. Nigeria's Yankari National Park likewise has a decent vacationer framework, and has really turned into one of the top travel destinations in the nation. While none of the Gambia's national park has taken off as a champion traveler destination, the straightforwardness and ubiquity of going by have made outings on the Gambia waterway a prime eco tourism and birding movement.

Le vieux pont métallique en ruine, de l'époque coloniale, se dresse toujours à l'entrée de Grand-Popo au côté du nouveau.
