The Hawaii of China is called Sanya, located in Hainan island, and it´s the paradise of the country...
Some of you may not know about the tropical Island of Hainan, Sanya, and it is more well known in Asia than in any other continente. Sanya, is known as the Hawaii of China, and there are a lot of reasons for that, such as the warm climate, its tropical location and the many green areas and mountains.
Anyway in case you are planning a Sanya trip, the Hawaii of China, we have made a short list of the top 5 things to do in Sanya and if you are not then here you have 5 reasons to visit Sanya in Hainan Province. Best Sanya attractions:
1) Guanyin of Nanshan: Probably the most famous monument of the city. All the images you have seen of Sanya are from this place. We talked about it in the blog, but you should definetly visit it in the morning, or you find too many people there. Near the Guanyin of Nanshan, you will also find the Nanshan temple, which is picture perfect.
2) Wuzhizho island: The beautiful Island of Wuzhizho offers many interesting and fun activities, and it´s the perfect place to stay for a whole day and enjoy it with friends and family. Although this place is beautiful and sure it has some photogenic spots, it´s more known for giving you the chance to enjoy a lot of water activities, like Scuba diving or snorkeling.
3) Sanya Bay: The center of Sanya, it´s perfect for a walk, enjoy some shopping or try some delicious chinese food, here you will also find the view of Phoenix island, which by the way, it is the best spot in Sanya to take pictures of the sunset.
4) Yanoda Rain Forest Ppark and Yalong Bay: The most tropical green areas of the island, both are natural parks surounded by nature. Yalong bay location has many outstanding viewponts, and in the other side, you will do all kind of fun nature activities in Yanoda.
5) Romance park: It is a more like touristic place, but still a place to have some fun and discover more about chinese culture! A lot of dancing and also many local activities.

Despite it being January and most of the world unable to travel, I was lucky enough to get a flight from Hangzhou to Sanya which is the southern area of Hainan Island which is located in the South of China with close proximity to Vietnam and the disputed Paracel Islands.
Sanya is nicknamed 'The Hawaii of China due to its white beaches, water sports, clear waters and all year round great weather. This is where many Chinese nationals come during the winter months to have fun and try the local seafood.
Sanya is becoming known on international levels thanks to its huge coastline, surfing, diving and it being the host of 'Miss World' in recent years.
Sanya is more expensive to holiday compared with it's rivals in Thailand and Vietnam but it is still worth it. It is divided into 3 main parts of Sanya Bay, Dadonghai and Yalong Bay.
There are some other things to do in Sanya beside the beaches and in this video I visit the Deer Park or Luhuitou as its known in Chinese. This is close to Dadonghai beach.
Luhuitou Park provides you a picturesque view of Sanya. It is located about 5 kilometers south of Sanya downtown. The Luhuitou Peninsula, where you can enjoy seeing all kinds of tropical fish and corals, is at the foot of the Luhuitou Mountain. The top of Luhuitou Mountain is the perfect site to catch an overall view of the nearby ocean, and a perfect site to watch sunrise and sunset. As the only mountain-top park in Sanya, it is also the only beautiful place to overlook the panoramic view of sanya, especially in the evening.
