TOP 10... FANTASTIC PLACES IN VALLETTA, MALTA
My top 10 choice of the fantastic Valletta its Malta's Awesome capital, built by the Knights of St John on a peninsula that's only 1km by 600m. Its founder decreed that it should be 'a city built by gentlemen for gentlemen', and it retains its 16th-century elegance.

Which area of Malta is best to live ?
These are the best places to live in Malta. In this video im sharing information about living in Malta in the Central part VS the North part VS the South part. In the Central part of Malta we have Valletta the capital city, Sliema and St Julians which are the areas in Malta where a lot of tourists are visiting. Valletta is a place where you can find a work but i would not recommend to live there, it is better to live in the surroundings of Valletta, places like Pieta, Hamrun, Qormi, Marsa and Santa Venera. In the North part of Malta we have the St Pauls Bay area which is perfect to find job opportunity during the season in Malta, and it is an area where a lot of Expats are living in Malta. The South part of Malta i divided it to Marsaxlokk and Marsaskala, where i prefer to live in Marsaskala. Then we have Birzebugga where foreign people from African countries prefer to live and lastly we have Zurrieq and Qrendi which are one of the most Maltese areas where mostly local people are living. These areas in Malta are quite and very clean but far from the central Malta so you definitely need to get a car or spend 1 hour journey with a bus.
A quick view of the town of Qormi, Malta 🇲🇹
While I was exploring some of the districts outside of Valletta, I had the opportunity to capture this view of the city of Qormi, Malta 🇲🇹
Qormi (Maltese: Ħal Qormi [ħal ʔormi]; pronounced Ħar Qurmi in the Qormi dialect), also known by its title Città Pinto, is a city in the Southern Region of Malta, southwest of Valletta in the centre of the island. It has a population of 16,324 (as of March 2018), making it Malta's fifth-largest city.
Its bordering towns are Marsa, Luqa, Żebbuġ, Siġġiewi, Ħamrun, Birkirkara, Attard, Santa Venera and Balzan.
Qormi has two parishes, one dedicated to Saint George and one to Saint Sebastian. It contains two valleys: Wied il-Kbir (The Large Valley) and Wied is-Sewda (Black Valley).
Elder inhabitants of Qormi speak a broad Qormi Dialect, which is now in decline.
In 1743 the town made a plea to Grand Master Manuel Pinto da Fonseca to elevate it to the level of a city. This was granted and the town received the title of Città Pinto on 25 May 1743. The decree issued by Pinto said Habita relatione, Terra Curmi erigmus In Civitatem, Imponentes el nomen Pinto, which means that the land of Qormi, to which he gave his own name Pinto, was then given higher dignity from a piece of land to a city, a fact which is now preserved in the locality's Latin motto: Altior Ab Imo (which means, rising from the low). Qormi's bakers served most of the island's bread supplies.
Malta's staple food is bread and Maltese bread is very much sought after. Qormi is recognized nationally as the capital of Maltese bread-making. It boasts the largest number of bakeries in the country, several of which still operate in the traditional manner using wood-fired ovens.
The importance of Qormi's history was highlighted back in 2007 when for the first time in its local history, Qormi hosted the national event of 'Lejl f'Casal Fornaro', meaning 'A night in Casal Fornaro' as Qormi was known hundreds of years ago. This event brought the greatest thousands that Qormi never witnessed before, outgrowing even the attendance for the traditional feasts.

Best place to live in Malta and why
Wondering which is the best place to live in Malta and why ? One of them would definitely be Kappara as it is exactly in Central Malta close to all the touristic atractions, restaurants, bars, shops, malls. I centra area is idea for a great life in Malta. If you are planning to move to Malta and you need a quite place, near everything central area of Malta would be ideal. However i asked expats what they think is the best city to live in Malta and the answers were different. Some people said it is Mellieha, some said Sliema, St Julians, Sant Venera. In reality Malta is so small that wherever you choose to live you can reach everything in maximum 30min drive.

In this video we are on a walking tour around the most touristic city in Malta, Sliema! For those of you that want to know how Malta looks like, especially if you are visiting Malta in October and November, this video will give you the right information of how busy Malta is and how is the weather in Malta. I walked in the coastline and inside Sliema, showing both the modern side and the traditional side of Malta. Enjoy
One great city to live in Malta
Gzira is one great cuty to live in Malta for expats, there are several reasons why. if you are looking for a place to live in Malta and you want to feel welcomed and accepted, Gzira would be one of them. It is also very close to Sliema and St Julians so on a walking distance you can get to these cities, and the rent in Gzira is cheaper then both of them. It is a multination enviorement where people from Arabic countries are living, people from South Asian/Asian countries are living, European people etc.
The 3 Cities in Malta While Valletta can lay claim to be the smallest capital city in Europe
THE 3 CITIES of MALTA
While Valletta can lay claim to be the smallest capital city in Europe it can also boast of having a spectacular natural harbour which fully justifies being called The Grand Harbour.
The 3 Cities of the title are located on the southern side of the harbour and are cities in name only. (Think of tiny towns in rural USA which fancy themselves as cities !). These 3 cities certainly don’t sell themselves short and why should they ? They have much to boast about for they afford magnificent locations, with lovely panoramic views towards Valletta, not to mention their interior streetscapes which range from delightful alleyways to imposing Palaces.
The best place to commence one’s trip by ferry is from the colonnaded Upper Barrakka Gardes and Saluting Battery which is perched high above Grand Harbour. It dates back from the late 16th century for the Knights of Malta as a location of relaxation.
Linger as long as it takes on the balcony to soak up the fabulous vistas above the battery of black cannons before descending in the fast lift to ground level, cross the road and board the splendid ferry which will deliver you in 5 minutes to commence your visit to the 3 Cities: Vittoriosa, Senglea agus Cospicua. In fact, these ‘cities’ predate the capital city of Valletta itself.
Here indeed be History writ large. Close your eyes and imagine the Grand Siege of 1565. That was when the Ottoman Empire tried to conquer the island of Malta, then held by the Knight Hospitaler. The siege lasted nearly four month. Despite being vastly outnumbered the defenders eventually repelled the invaders, causing the legendary French writer Voltaire to comment: ‘Nothing is better known than the Siege of Malta’.
Having re-opened your eyes and if you wish to pick a particular vantage point from which to get the most comprehensive vista of both the history and the geography of this most breathtaking harbour, you could far worse than do the following. Stroll northwards at your leisure after disembarking from the ferry at Senglea though the atmospheric streets of this narrow peninsula to the garden at its extremity.
There you will find the memorable little watchtower and one of the THE sightseeing thrills of Malta.

Msida Malta - Street Works Update; Pumpkin Spice Latte in Indian Summer
I visit Msida to see the state of the street works. Afterwards I go to have a Pumpkin Spice Latte - traditional in the fall or autumn - but during our Indian Summer.
Msida (Maltese: L-Imsida, Italian: Misida) is a harbour town in the Central Region of Malta with a population of 7, 623 (2021).
The town is located just west of Valletta on the northeast coast of Malta.
The neighbouring towns of Msida are Ta' Xbiex, Gżira, San Ġwann, Birkirkara, Santa Venera, Ħamrun and Pietà. Msida is an important town for all travellers as many of the country's bus routes pass through it.
In the late 19th century, a floating British navy hydraulic dock was also planned at the central part of Msida close to where the Torpedo Depot used to stand. The plan was soon aborted but instead, this area would in later years experience a booming yacht marina service, which has been growing ever since, thanks to new incentive policies issued by the central government.

MAP OF MALTA
Malta , officially the Republic of Malta (Maltese: Repubblika ta' Malta , is an island country in the Mediterranean Sea. It consists of an archipelago, between Italy and Libya, and is often considered a part of Southern Europe. It lies 80 km (50 mi) south of Sicily (Italy), 284 km (176 mi) east of Tunisia, and 333 km (207 mi) north of Libya.] The official languages are Maltese and English, and 66% of the current Maltese population is at least conversational in the Italian language.
Malta has been inhabited since approximately 5900 BC. Its location in the centre of the Mediterranean has historically given it great strategic importance as a naval base, with a succession of powers having contested and ruled the islands, including the Phoenicians and Carthaginians, Romans, Greeks, Arabs, Normans, Aragonese, Knights of St. John, French, and British, amongst others.
With a population of about 516,000 over an area of 316 km2 (122 sq mi), Malta is the world's tenth-smallest country in area and fourth most densely populated sovereign country. Its capital is Valletta, which is the smallest national capital in the European Union by area and population. According to the data from 2020 by Eurostat, the Functional Urban Area and metropolitan region covered the whole island and has a population of 480,134, and according to the United Nations, ESPON and EU Commission, the whole territory of Malta constitutes a single urban region. Malta increasingly is referred to as a city-state, and also listed in rankings concerning cities or metropolitan areas.
Malta became a British colony in 1813, serving as a way station for ships and the headquarters for the British Mediterranean Fleet. It was besieged by the Axis powers during World War II and was an important Allied base for operations in North Africa and the Mediterranean. The British parliament passed the Malta Independence Act in 1964, giving Malta independence from the United Kingdom as the State of Malta, with Elizabeth II as its queen. The country became a republic in 1974. It has been a member state of the Commonwealth of Nations and the United Nations since independence, and joined the European Union in 2004; it became part of the eurozone monetary union in 2008.
Malta has had Christians since the time of Early Christianity, though was predominantly Muslim while under Arab rule, at which time Christians were tolerated. Muslim rule ended with the Norman invasion of Malta by Roger I in 1091. Today, Catholicism is the state religion, but the Constitution of Malta guarantees freedom of conscience and religious worship. The economy of Malta is heavily reliant on tourism, and the country promotes itself as a Mediterranean tourist destination with its warmer climate compared to the rest of Europe, numerous recreational areas, and architectural and historical monuments, including three UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Ħal Saflieni Hypogeum, Valletta, and seven megalithic temples which are some of the oldest free-standing structures in the world. The following uninhabited minor islands are part of the archipelago:
Barbaġanni Rock (Gozo)

Car ownership in Malta is exceedingly high, considering the very small size of the islands; it is the fourth-highest in the European Union. The number of registered cars in 1990 amounted to 182,254, giving an automobile density of 577/km2 (1,494/sq mi).
Malta has 2,254 kilometres (1,401 miles) of road, 1,972 km (1,225 mi) (87.5 per cent) of which are paved and 282 km (175 mi) are unpaved (as of December 2003). The main roads of Malta from the southernmost point to the northernmost point are these: Triq Birżebbuġa in Birżebbuġa, Għar Dalam Road and Tal-Barrani Road in Żejtun, Santa Luċija Avenue in Paola, Aldo Moro Street (Trunk Road), 13 December Street and Ħamrun-Marsa Bypass in Marsa, Regional Road in Santa Venera/Msida/Gżira/San Ġwann, St Andrew's Road in Swieqi/Pembroke, Malta, Coast Road in Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq, Salina Road, Kennedy Drive, St. Paul's Bypass and Xemxija Hill in San Pawl il-Baħar, Mistra Hill, Wettinger Street (Mellieħa Bypass) and Marfa Road in Mellieħa.
