Top 5 Things to Do Around Cancun Mexico shows you great excursions in the Yucatan Peninsula around Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, Tulum, and Merida. If you're looking for more than just beaches and resorts make sure to check out these top 5 Things to do around Cancun. First we start out in Chichen Itza, one of the seven wonders of the world. Next we head to Valladolid which is a great base to get a hotel and explore the surrounding areas. From here you can visit Chichen Itza, other ruins, and plenty of Cenotes. Our two favorite Cenotes being Cenote Suytun and Cenote Xcanahaltun. If you're up for a drive then head to the amazing town of Bacalar which we would argue is more beautiful than Cancun, Tulum, or Playa Del Carmen with out the touristy vibes. Here you can rent a boat on Lake Bacalar and travel to Los Rapidos. Last but not least we drove to the Archaeological Zone of Becán where we saw the most amazing Mayan Ruins. There are plenty of ruins closer to Cancun but we loved that you could climb up the pyramids here. Becan was completely empty and truly amazing to see!

Los hermosos bosques de la Sierra Norte de Oaxaca - Santa María Yavesía.
En la Sierra Norte de Oaxaca se encuentra el majestuoso bosque de Santa María Yavesía.
El bosque y el agua son los pilares para la comunidad zapoteca de Santa María Yavesía. Aquí es donde nace el brazo más largo del río Papaloapan, el cual baña sus fértiles montañas.
Santa María Yavesía se localiza a solo 2.5 horas al norte de la capital de Oaxaca en la Sierra de Juárez. El territorio ha sido habitado desde tiempos inmemoriales por los zapotecos, quienes han luchado por defender su territorio comunal, por conservar y proteger su recurso más valioso, el bosque, pues sin este no habría agua.

SAMAO es una excelente opción si buscan un lugar tranquilo lleno de naturaleza para tomar un descanso. La laguna cráter es un espectacular cuerpo de agua que los va a asombrar desde antes de llegar.
