Weekend trip to Real del Monte & Pachuca
Real del Monte, or officially Mineral de Monte, is a small mining town with big history. It has produced 6% off all world's silver in the last 500 years!
We had a chance to visit the place over the weekend by taking a bus from Mexico City.
Thanks to the Cornish miners who restarted the mining in the 19th century, the colorful town still holds many features of Cornish influence, like the local paste, architecture and multiple descendants of the miners.
For anyone living close to Pachuca, Real de Monte is a great place to spend the weekend and enjoy the local, unique culture.

???????? The Most INCREDIBLE BEACH Town in MEXICO! | SAN CARLOS, SONORA | Mexico TRAVEL 2022
???????? SAN CARLOS, SONORA - Welcome to Mexico! This video is Episode 15 of my 2022 Mexico Travel series and we are continuing our journey in Sonora by heading from Ciudad Obregon to Heroica Guaymas de Zaragoza (or just Guaymas) and San Carlos Nuevo Guaymas (or just San Carlos) for the weekend. There are many popular beach locations and towns in Mexico which are popular with Mexicans, foreigners and expats alike, such as Puerto Vallarta, Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Acapulco and so on. But is San Carlos the most INCREDIBLE BEACH TOWN in Mexico?
*AD* - *Video sponsored by Paradise Real Estate - Interested in getting away to San Carlos? At Paradise Real Estate we can help with rentals, sales or almost anything else! We are local subject matter experts and are here to help. Visit our website at for more details!*
Sonora is a vast state, full of desert, hills, mountains and amazing Mexican food (comida mexicana) such as Carne Asada, Cahuamanta, a drink called Bacanora (coming in a future video) and so much more. San Carlos itself is tranquil and feels somewhat undiscovered, despite being home to many expats or those who have embarked on the journey of moving to Mexico.
You’ll find many things to do in San Carlos, such as Cerro Tetakawi, a monstrous volcanic hill overlooking the sea, the Vista Point which is National Geographic’s recommended ‘top ocean view in the WORLD’, numerous beaches including Los Algodones, hiking in various canyons, tourist and local restaurants, and a multitude of activities.

The side of Mexico you’ve NEVER seen!!
I spent a week in small-town Oaxaca, Mexico for a local cultural celebration no foreigner has experienced (**this is a side of Mexico they don't want you to see**)
❁❁Subscribe to my channel:
Come with me to experience this AMAZING week of Oaxacan festivities in a small town you've probably never heard of called Santa Maria Mixtequilla. The reason I say that is because NO ONE has ever made a vlog of this place before.
One of my good friends Ivett's family is from this small town and she invited me to come here and get the local's perspective on this incredible cultural experience. Every year the people of Santa Maria Mixtequilla throw a huge festival-like celebration they call Fiestas patronales de la Virgin Santa Catalina de Siena.
This Mexico vlog includes:
- Multiple elaborate parades filled with music, candy-throwing, and townspeople dressed in traditional Oaxacan clothing
- A behind-the-scenes look at Oaxacan food is made
- Adorable animals like pollito, my adopted chickadee
- A look at the beautiful clothing worn in this region (huipiles and enaguas) and how women do their hair and makeup
- Crazy pyrotechnics called toritos and the castillo
- The 5-hour expedition for forest flowers
- One of my favorite parts called the fruit-throwing parade where the royal procession and others in town throw thousands of items into the street for the spectators
- And MORE!
Let me know in a comment what you think of this festival. Would you like to see more videos like this?

Las Cruces, New Mexico | Where to Eat | Best Restaurants | La Nueva Casita | Zeffiro's | Caliché
In late July I visited Las Cruces, New Mexico with my parents - and we searched out the best places to eat: A Bite of Belgium, Café de Mesilla, Las Cruces, Bosa Donuts, La Nueva Casita, Zeffiro’s Pizzeria, and Caliche's Frozen Custard. Las Cruces, Spanish for the crosses, is the second-largest city in New Mexico with a population of 100,000. Upon entering the city from I-10, we found a large “recycled roadrunner sculpture” that overlooks the Las Cruces area and the beautiful Organ Mountains. Las Cruces is home to New Mexico State University and just a short drive to the mesmerizing White Sands National Park. It also hosts offices for Virgin Galactic and the nearby Spaceport America, the world’s first purpose-built commercial launch facility for suborbital space flight. This is where Richard Branson launched his recent inaugural trip to space.

A Bite of Belgium brings authentic and tasty Belgian cuisine at an affordable cost. Their Belgium waffles are not the familiar simplified version, but a Liège (pronounced 'lee-age') style that is richer, denser, sweeter, and chewier. Chunks of pearl sugar caramelize on the outside when baked. And the Bavarian cream - well let’s just say it’s melt-in-your-mouth creaminess will satisfy you. For Lunch, a mouth-watering “Belgian Burger” with caramelized onions and Gouda cheese may be paired with their award winning tomato basil soup.
Café de Mesilla is a classic adobe eatery offering a vast and creative menu of New Mexican breakfast and lunch dishes. The food’s presentation is only surpassed by it’s fresh ingredients and delicious execution. They have coffee shop origins, so be sure and check out their specialty macchiatos, cappuccinos, and lattes while dining on their simply charming patio. And don’t forget to say hello to Pink Floyd.
Bosa Donuts provides a quick stop for some truly awesome donuts. Their customers rave over the tasty treats and our experience was no exception. Although they provide a variety of flavors, their original glazed is to die for. From customer comments, it sounds like their burritos and tamales are outstanding grab-n-go meals.
La Nueva Casita Café was established in 1957 in the Historic Mesquite District, the original town-site of Las Cruces. Inside they provide authentic, made from scratch Mexican cuisine, at a great value. From tacos to flautas to chile relleno, their plates harken to a taste of days gone by. Don’t forget to try their homemade horchata, a traditional cinnamon rice drink of Spanish origin. And on the weekends, they serve up fresh menudo, an authentic Mexican broth soup made with cow's stomach and red chili pepper.
Zeffiro’s Pizzeria is a retro-modern casual eatery crafting Neapolitan-style pizzas with a 900-degree oven. You can take a seat inside or dine “al fresco.” Either way, you can enjoy the famous wood-fired artisan pizzas, tasty pasta dishes, delicious Italian entrees, or fresh salads. An ample beer and wine selection will complete any meal. If you save room, you can indulge in one of their Italian lemon cream cakes, strawberry cheesecakes, or ice cream sundaes.
Caliche's Frozen Custard is a local favorite for frozen treats - as was readily demonstrated by the long lines on a Sunday night. They originally occupied a renovated burger joint - and now boast three locations in the Las Cruces area. The name caliche is a Spanish term for natural cement found in desert soil. This is a local adaptation of the midwestern term “concrete” that is used for their blended frozen treats. Notably, Caliche’s is home to a “sweet and spicy” green chile sundae known as the “New Mexican.”
SANTA TERESA, COSTA RICA 20 YEARS LATER! (TRAVEL GUIDE)
It's been 20 years since I have been in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica and as I know a lot can change in that amount of time I guess I wasn’t full expecting it to change so much! Santa Teresa, Costa Rica is located on the southern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula and is known for its surf and laidback atmosphere. It seems over the past decade the word has gotten out of how beautiful Santa Teresa is and tourists and foreign investors have been flocking here. So in this Costa Rica Travel Vlog we will be showing you around Playa Carmen, Playa Santa Teresa, a bit of Mal Pais and up to the Montezuma Waterfalls on ATV. I will also be talking about my experience returning after 20 years and a little of how this development has affected the locals, which is always something you should keep in mind when traveling, supporting the locals.
