Burias Island, Masbate's very own hidden gem!
After a two-month hiatus we're back and continuing on with our adventures, bringing you ti the best vacation spots in the Philippines. Since we left off going around Bicolandia we decided to pick up from where we left off and continue our exploration of this nature-rich region south of Luzon.
After visiting Albay, Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur, Masbate was quickly chosen as the next stop, particularly Burias Island!

The island is in San Andres Quezon and will take 9-10 hours land travel from Manila. There are many travel and tour packages for Alibijaban with Burias island side trip but if you plan for DIY travel, you can ride a SuperLine bus in Edsa Cubao QC. As far as we know, they are the only bus company travels to San Andres Quezon.

How to plan a birthday trip:
1. Don't plan.
2. Have a random person join you.
3. Miss the bus on day 1
4. Join an island-hopping trip organized by the locals to celebrate someone else’s birthday.
5. Be amazed by how women of the island are able to handle their alcohol.
6. Cut a 4-location trip to 2 because of weather conditions
7. Wait for six hours for a bus that will never come, and realize you are waiting in the wrong area.
8. Pitch a tent at a police station until the next scheduled bus arrives - and try to still miss that one as well.
Most importantly:
9. Keep your birthday a secret and be pleasantly surprised when you still get flowers, an improv cake and a gift, because life is good and maybe Someone Above still wants you to celebrate your 30th, after all. (Also, blame your missing voter's ID for everything).
And finally,
10. Come home to people you love above everything else.
