Visites Merveilleuses, Une saison touristique en hiver !
Parce que tourisme ne signifie pas forcément cocotiers et paréos,
Parce que le Pays de Saint-Omer regorge de trésors à découvrir en toutes saisons,
Parce que la période hivernale plonge les paysages dans une autre ambiance,
L’Office de Tourisme et des Congrès du Pays de Saint-Omer propose pour la première fois un concept novateur et audacieux : une saison d’hiver.
Le principe est simple : des visites merveilleuses seront organisées tous les vendredis et tous les samedis en fin de journée, du 10 novembre 2017 au 04 mars 2018.
Au total, 35 dates et des événements variés, tous plus merveilleux et surprenants les uns que les autres.
La saison hivernale en 5 points :
1️⃣ comme une réservation centralisée auprès d'un Office de Tourisme et des Congrès du Pays de Saint-Omer par mail, par téléphone, en direct ou sur la page Facebook.
2️⃣ comme le nombre de saisons de ces visites merveilleuses qui vont du 10 novembre 2017 au 06 janvier 2018 et du 7 janvier 2018 au 4 mars 2018.
3️⃣ comme le nombre de Pôles d’Information Touristique qui se mobilisent pour vous renseigner et prendre vos réservations à Aire sur la Lys, Thérouanne et Fauquembergues.
4️⃣ comme les 4 mois de cette saison hivernale.
5️⃣ comme le tarif unique à 5€.

France: The Canals of Audomarois
The transformation of wetlands into market gardens began 13 centuries ago when thousands of acres of marshland in Audomarois just outside of Saint Omer in the Nord-Pas de Calais region of France was converted using a regulated maze of canals. Today the agriculture is on view as you take a leisurely cruise along the 680 km network of canals enjoying the scenic beauty of the countryside, the laid-back lifestyle of the local people, spot the last working drainage windmill, and stop off to enjoy the benefits of the region in a local beer garden. Dans un ancien musée de Saint-Omer, vous aurez la possibilité de jouer à deux énigmes :

Une légende locale raconte qu’une sorcière enlève les enfants dans le marais audomarois, quand ils s’approchent trop près de l’eau. Il se dit qu’elle les attrape et que les petits disparaissent à jamais. Et s’il ne s’agissait pas seulement d’une histoire pour effrayer les enfants ? Et si Marie Groët existait vraiment et que vous étiez les seuls à pouvoir l’arrêter ?
LE MYSTÈRE DUPUIS
Henri Dupuis, l’un des plus grands collectionneurs naturalistes du 19ème siècle, à qui l’on doit le musée éponyme de Saint-Omer, avait fait une étrange découverte avant sa mort… A vous de découvrir les indices qu’il a laissés pour percer son mystère et révéler son incroyable secret.
Un lieu surprenant :
C’est au musée Dupuis, fermé au public depuis plus de 10 ans, que sera installé le nouvel escape game. L’occasion de donner une seconde vie à ce bâtiment, conçu à l’origine pour être ouvert au public mais qui ne pouvait malheureusement plus recevoir de visiteurs car il ne répondait plus aux normes en vigueur.
Plusieurs semaines de travaux auront été nécessaires pour remettre en état les lieux et aménager des espaces de jeu sécurisés, sans mettre en péril, bien sûr, les magnifiques collections du musée. Le conservateur de la Ville effectuera d’ailleurs des contrôles et des mesures régulièrement pour s’assurer que cette nouvelle activité n’a pas de conséquences sur les objets gardés dans le bâtiment. De plus, seul le rez de chaussée du bâtiment sera exploité pour l’escape.

1. Winning tip: the Alabaster coast, Normandy
The GR21 running 186km from Le Havre to Le Tréport takes in Normandy’s classic coastline, green countryside, architecture and second world war sites.
2. PICARDIE/NORD-PAS-DE-CALAIS, Le Tréport cliffs
The cliffs around Le Tréport are some of the highest in Europe and a walk along them gives great sea views and bracing winds to energise you for a circular walk.
3. Etangs du Romelaëre, near Saint-Omer
This wetland in Pas de Calais offers great walking all year round, with lakes and marshland perfect for spotting migrating birds.
4.NORMANDY With Claude Monet to Pourville
Follow Monet, turn your back to Dieppe and walk west on the clifftops two miles to Pourville-sur-Mer.
5. Forêt d’Eu
The Forêt d’Eu, near the Picardy border, is the perfect place to get away from the crowds.

Today’s flight is from my home base to Rouen In France, meeting up with British and German friends. The Brits flew from their respective home bases crossing the Channel in Calais. A dark and cold late May trip, with a diversion to Saint-Omer due to low morning clouds. The first of many diversions this year.

This year we were 11 pilots in 6 planes. The six planes were:
