Some of the best places to camp in Oregon include Toketee Lake, the Green Mountain Campground, and Devil’s Lake State Recreation Area. Toketee Lake is located within Umpqua National Forest and features the venerable Toketee Lake Campground. This campground is only a few miles off from the Umpqua Hot Springs, which can be accessed by campers via a short walk along the North Umpqua Trail.
The Green Mountain Campground is one of the more secluded campgrounds located within the state of Oregon, and it features only six campsites! While these campsites don’t feature any hookups, the seclusion more than makes up for it. Finally, the Devil’s Lake Recreation Area is home to the Devil’s Lake Campground, which is the only coastal campground in Oregon that’s located within the boundaries of a city. The South Umpqua River runs through Roseburg and joins with the North Umpqua River just outside of town. Dense forests of Douglas fir, hemlock and cedar are peppered with rivers and streams. The nearby Umpqua National Forest provides mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking and hiking near the waterfalls.
Swing away at one of the local tennis courts or golf courses, like the Stewart Park Municipal Golf Course located less than two miles away. The Roseburg Regional Airport is also two miles from the hotel. The Rock Creek Hatchery, Winchester Fish Ladder and Wildlife Safari in Winston are all fun-filled family destinations where visitors can view animals in their natural habitat, and are within 10 miles. Spend the day at the Seven Feathers Casino, just 20 miles from the hotel.
Drive the beautiful Rogue-Umpqua Scenic Byway to the stunning Crater Lake National Park. For the hardcore outdoor adventurer, snow cat skiing and rock climbing are available at Mt. Bailey. Historic downtown Roseburg and several shopping options are located nearby.

Explore Oregon Recreation: Millpond Campground and Recreation Area
Nestled along the clear waters of Rock Creek, Millpond’s lush forest gives way to spacious grassy areas, great for day-use and running the kids and dogs. A children's play area, a large ball-field, interpretive panels, swimming areas, and a large reservable pavilion are all available at Millpond.
There is a short nature trail on the west end of the campground and the mile-long Sawmill Trail to the east. Rock Creek is closed to all angling however it’s a great place to see migrating and spawning salmon and steelhead.
Know Before You Go:
• All 12 campsites (except site #1), restrooms, water spigots, trails, and the pavilion are wheelchair accessible.
• To reserve the pavilion, visit or by calling 1-877-444-6777. There is a 250
person group size limit for the pavilion.
• Pets are allowed in the campground, but must be kept on a 6-foot or shorter leash.
• Typically open mid-May through late-September.
Directions:
Travel 22 miles east of Roseburg (1-mile east of Idleyld Park) on Highway 138, turn left on Rock Creek Road and travel five miles. Millpond is on the right.
Point of Interest:
For a family-friendly destination, the nearby Rock Creek Fish Hatchery allows visitors to view salmon and steelhead and an opportunity to feed trout!
