Ep 5 Robertsganj to Renukoot, Sonbhadra | Maa VaishnoDevi Temple | Worlds Biggest fossil park- UP
We started this tour from Varanasi, went to Mirzapur district and then finally to Sonebhadra district of Uttar Pradesh, we had planned to visit Sonebhadra bcoz we wanted to see waterfalls and natural greenery that comes up in this district after rains. But this year - 2022rains in UP have been low, so waterfalls were not so active.
Robertsganj is the district headquarter town of Sonbhadra district, In the last episode you saw we travelled from Varanasi and reached Robertsganj and in today's episode you will see Sonbhadra tourism exploration.
Varanasi to Robertsganj distance - 85 km.
This video was shot on 8th August 2022, following are the activities we visited during the day.
Son ViewPoint in Robertsganj - We saw 180 degree of scenic view from this point. It is also known as eco point in Sonbhadra.
Veer Lorik Stone or Pathar - This is located walking distance from eco point. Highlight of this place is a big stone which had been cut by Veer Lorik in one stroke.
Salkhan Fossil Park - Biggest fossil park in the world, the age of the fossils is around 1.40 billions years old. These are stromatolites formed; these rock structures which are the signatures left behind by the ancient algae.
New Kanhaiya sweets - We had Ras Madhuri - Rs 25 per pc, quite a popular sweet shop across the highway.
Maa Vaishno Shaktipith Dhaam Sonbhadra Dala - This is 18 years old temple, dedicated maa vaishno devi, there is also a man made cave in the temple.

Ep 4 Varanasi to Robertsganj, | Chunar Fort | Siddhnath Ki Dari , Mirzapur district, Uttar Pradesh
We started the journey from Durgakund Varanasi then moved towards Chunar fort followed by Siddhnath ki Dari..
Due to less rains in the year 2022, we could not see much waterfall in the Sonbhadra district and Mirzapur district, but still we got chance to see the surroundings.
This video was shot on 7th August, following are the activities we did throughout the day.
Durgakund - we started our day from Durgakund. One of the most famous temples in Varanasi.
Chunar Fort - Located Around 30 km from Varanasi. Built at an elevation of 280 ft, across the holy river Ganga in Vindhyachal Ranges.
Mahadev Misthan Bhandar - This shop is popular for its Gud Jalebi (Jaggery Jalebi) 12 for 100 gm. We had breakfast of Poori with Sabji - Rs 20.
Do check the price before eating food at this shop - we were charged Rs 1000 for 5 people , though the price was less, so its better if you check it before ordering food at Mahadev Mishthan Bhandar.
Siddhnath Ki Dari - Located at a distance of 20 km from Mirzapur. There is a waterfall which is a treat to the eyes during the monsoon. Not known to Tourists, to my surprise I saw many locals who had come for a picnic.
Raj Dari - it is also a waterfall where you need to go through the jungle to reach the fall. Timing - 8 am to 4pm. Entry fee - Rs 50 per person.
Hare Krishna dhaba - We had dinner here Dal - Rs 120 & Dum Aloo - Rs 200. This Dhaba is located 8 km before Robertsganj in sonbhadra district.

Robertsganj also known as Sonbhadra City is a city and a municipal board in Sonbhadra district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
Robertsganj is located in the southeastern corner of the state. Robertsganj is the administrative headquarter of Sonbhadra District. The district Sonbhadra and Robertsganj as its district headquarter were created by carving off the southern part of the Mirzapur district on 4 March 1989. Son, Karmnasha, Chandra Prabha, Rihand, Kanhar, Renu, Ghagar and Belan Rivers drain this area. The city is named after Frederick Roberts, 1st Earl Roberts.
Located between Vindhyan Range and Kaimur Range, this area had been the centre of activities of pre-historic man which is evident from the rock paintings (pre-historic cave art) found in abundance in this region.

About Baba Mangleshwar Dham,

Baba Mangleshwar Dham is also known as Guptkashi. It is located at Son river bank in Cherue village of Chopan 34km from headquarter Robertsganj of Sonbhadra. This is the highest point(1850 ft) place in the Sonbhadra district. On the top of the mountain have Lord Shiva temple, Hanuman temple, and Panchmukhi Hanuman statue. Visitors come to Baba Mangleshwar Dham to worship Lord Shiva and to see the Om Parvat from its height. You can see the clear natural vision of the Sonbhadra district from the top of Mangleshwar mountain. Visitors also come to see the lovely view of sunrise and sunset from the top of Mangleshwar mountain. So due to the above different kinds of things, Baba Mangleshwar Dham is a famous tourist Place in #Sonbhadra.
