Rome is known for spanning seven hills, yet it frequently feels like numerous cities. Of course, there is the Rome of the past, the one with the still-standing amphitheaters and emperors. Then there is opulent, baroque Rome, a city of enormous squares, ornate churches, and beautiful fountains, each one more impressive than the last. Elegant shops, cafés, restaurants, and venerable hotels on Via Veneto still exude a Dolce Vita ambiance. However, Rome is also modern; once residential neighbourhoods like Testaccio, Monti, and Ostiense are today just as popular with tourists for their nightlife as the more traditional parts.
It all combines into a single, enduring gumbo. You can travel from the residence of a Roman emperor to a hipster market in the course of a single day; all it takes is descending into a church's basement to begin peeling back the layers. All this luxury obviously calls for some moderation. Instead of that, the Sistine Chapel by Michelangelo may be found in the Vatican, which is where it should be. When it all becomes too much, there are parks to escape to, like the Giardino degli Aranci, which offers breathtaking views of St. Peter's dome, the Villa Borghese, whose expansive grounds house a number of museums, and the Via Appia Antica, a Roman route lined with catacombs, mausoleums, and old aqueducts. Even in the open air, Rome can't help but think about the top.

Visiting the Italian capital, Rome? Here is a list of 10 things you'll need to know. Rome is considered one of the most historic places in the world. On every possible corner is a momument, relic, artifact, archaeological site and memorabilia of the times long since gone. It is rich in history and carries with it a tale of a city that was once an empire. Getting around to all the sights couldn't be easier with the Roman metro.
There is so much to do inside and outside the tourist sites that you'll likely find yourself coming back to see what you couldn't the first time around. The most well preserved structure is the Pantheon, opened in 126AD.
There are seven ancient hills in Rome, but you can find the best view from Gianicolo (or Janiculum). Visit the Vatican City, an independant state within the city (but dress appropriately). Don't miss the Roman Colosseum, St Peter's Basilica, the Vatican Museum, the Spanish Steps and the Roman Forum. Also, be sure to check out sights outside of the tourist spots. There are several restaurants where you can find tradtional Italian food, shopping choices are abundant and the nightlife is unmissable. Rome is just as beautiful at night as it is during the day.

🇮🇹 Ciao! Fa caldo e il clima è incredibile, questi e molti altri motivi per visitare Roma. Ci incontriamo a Piazzale Flaminio, a proposito, questo piazzale è un tornello per accedere al quartiere settentrionale Flaminio. Attraversiamo l'enorme semaforo ed entriamo nella più grande piazza di Roma Piazza del Popolo attraverso la Porta del Popolo, dove ci godiamo l'ampio spazio aperto e il sole. Arrivati in Via di Ripetta, una strada che si trova a una delle tante estremità della Piazza, la percorriamo quasi interamente. Passiamo davanti al Museo dell'Ara Pacis e alla Fontana Ara Pacis e attraversiamo il Lungotevere Marzio per arrivare a Piazza Nicosia. Basta risalire la Via di Monte Brianzo e imboccare la strada laterale, la Via dei Soldati, per raggiungere la nostra destinazione, la Piazza di Tor Sanguigna.
🇬🇧 Ciao! It is hot and the weather is incredible, that and much more are reasons to visit Rome. We meet at the Piazzale Flaminio, by the way, this Piazzale is a hub to get to the northern district Flaminio. We go over the huge traffic light and enter the biggest square of Rome Piazza del Popolo through the Porta del Popolo, here we enjoy the wide and the sun. Arrived on the Via di Ripetta, that is a street at one of the many ends of the Piazza, we go down it almost completely. We pass the Museo dell'Ara Pacis as well as the Fontana Ara Pacis and come over the Lungotevere Marzio to the Piazza Nicosia. Only once again go up the Via di Monte Brianzo and via the side street, the Via dei Soldati we arrive at our destination, the Piazza di Tor Sanguigna.

Step into the enchanting Piazza del Popolo, a grand square that forms a key chapter in Rome's rich historical narrative. Dominating the center is the Flaminio Obelisk, an authentic Egyptian monument originally from Heliopolis. Erected by Pharaoh Ramesses II, this ancient piece was brought to Rome in 10 BC by Emperor Augustus, and later positioned in this piazza in 1589 under Pope Sixtus V's direction. Surrounding the obelisk are the twin churches, Santa Maria dei Miracoli and Santa Maria in Montesanto, each a masterpiece of Baroque architecture. Their almost-mirrored facades provide striking visual symmetry. On the northern side, the Porta del Popolo marks the historic entrance to the city for travellers coming from the Via Flaminia. As you explore this piazza, imagine the myriad of stories it has witnessed, from ancient processions to modern-day gatherings. This square is not just a place of beauty, but a testament to the layers of history that define Rome.
