Kočevje (German: Gottschee; Göttscheab or Gətscheab in the local Gottscheerish dialect; Italian: Cocevie) is a city in the Municipality of Kočevje in southern Slovenia. It is the seat of the municipality. Kočevje was attested in written sources in 1363 as Gotsche (and as Gotsew in 1386, Kotsche in 1425, and propre Koczeuiam in 1478). The name is derived from Hvojčevje (from hvoja 'fir, spruce'), referring to the local vegetation. The initial hv- changed to k- under the influence of German phonology. Older discredited explanations include derivation from the hypothetical common noun kočevje 'nomadic settlement' and Slovene koča 'shack'. The former German name was Gottschee.
In 1247 Bertoldo de Merania, Patriarch of Aquileia, granted the area around Ribnica within the Imperial March of Carniola to the Carinthian counts of Ortenburg. When the counts had received further estates in 1336 on the wooded plateau down to Kostel on the Kolpa River from the hands of Patriarch Bertram, they called for German-speaking settlers from Carinthia and Tyrol. In the following decades they established the town of Gottschee, which was first mentioned in a 1363 deed. The settlement received market rights in 1377 and town privileges in 1471.
Until 1918, the town was part of the Austrian Empire (and part of Cisleithania after the Austro-Hungarian Compromise of 1867), in the district of the same name, as one of the 11 Bezirkshauptmannschaften in province of Carniola. The German name alone was used by the post office before 1867. After the Second World War, a Yugoslav labor camp for political prisoners operated in Kočevje until March 1946. (Wikipedia)

The town of Kamnik is surrounded on one side by hills, and on the other by a high ridge of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps (Kamniško-Savinjske Alpe).
Kamnik is one of the most beautiful medieval cities of Slovenia preserved to our days. The most beautiful part of the city is certainly its old center. Narrow streets and red-tiled houses have preserved the unique spirit of the Middle Ages to this day.
Kamnik is the center of Slovenian beekeeping. Here they breed carnian bees (Apis mellifica carnica), which were still bred by the Romans in the eastern Alps. Today, this breed is called kranjska bee.

Ribnica Lake
Ribnica Lake is located 8 kilometers from the center of Zlatibor and halfway to the ski center Tornik. It represents an artificial lake created by damming the river Crni Rzav which supply surrounding villages with drinking water. It abounds in beautiful landscapes, many conifers and beautiful nature that surrounds it. If you go to Zlatibor be sure to visit it. More about zlatibor read here .

Kropa, Radovljica / Slovenia from above
Kropa je naselje u opštini Radovljica u Gornjokranjskoj regiji u Sloveniji.
Naselje je prvi put posvedočeno 1498. godine kao Chropp ili Krupp. Veruje se da potiče od identičnog hidronima (danas Kroparički potok), koji izvire iz izvora Kroparice iznad naselja.
Poznato je po tradicionalnim kovačnicama koje proizvode razne ukrasne metalne okove. U Kropi postoji muzej kovanja gvožđa. Obrada metala ima drevnu tradiciju u Kropi, sa dokazima o metaloprerađivanjima iz keltskog doba na širem području i najranijim pećima u Kropi od 14. veka pa nadalje.
U Kropi postoje dve crkve: crkva Svetog Leonarda i crkva posvećena Bogorodici. Crkva Svetog Leonarda je prvobitno gotička građevina koja je proširena 1694. godine, preuređena u baroknom stilu 1768. godine, a dograđena 1862. godine. Nalazi se ispod visoravni Jelovica na severozapadnoj ivici istorijskog centra Krope i okružena je grobljem. Crkva Svete Marije se nalazi na padini istočno od istorijskog centra grada. Reč je o baroknoj građevini sa pravougaonim naosom i pripratom i polukružnom bočnom kapelom iz 1712. godine.
Radovljica je grad i upravno središte istoimene opštine Radovljica, koja pripada Gorenjskoj regiji u Sloveniji, sa pogledom na Karavanke i Julijske Alpe.
Po poslednjem popisu iz 2002. godine naselje Radovljica imalo je 5.937 stanovnika.
Radovljica je poznata i kao rodno mjesto modernog pčelarstva, upravo u Radovljici je živio i radio Anton Janša, začetnik savremenog pčelarstva, a u starom jezgru mjesta postoji i Muzej pčelarstva.

We are driving in Slovenia in Lower Carniola region (Dolenjska) from Ljubljana to Kocevje on G106 road. We travel through a nice landscape, a good mix of forests and open wide areas with some traditional villages on the way. Сегодня моя прогулка по старому центру небольшого городка Рибница в Словении. От Любляны ехать около часа. Персонально туда ехать не стоит, но если по пути, например, в Хорватию, то можно заехать. В городе есть большая красивая церковь и замок с красивой территорией. Через центр города протекает речка Бистрица, которая добавляет дополнительный колорит этому месту.
