The trail of Mokotów district's hidden gems (Warsaw Gems)
Come for a walk around the attractions hidden in Warsaw's Mokotów district. The area was the site of fierce fights during Warsaw Uprising 1944, so we will focus on places related to this part of history.
We will visit:
- Park Dreszera, which was a witness to an amazing history from 1938 until today (fights, cemetery, anniversary celebrations).
- a steel door at Krasickiego Street, bearing traces of the fire, a Polish soldier hid there.
- a tenement house at Naruszewicza Street, it was shelled while Poles were hiding in the attic.
- a vertical garden at Krasickiego Street
- Czeczota Street, the traces of so-called Wierzbno battery.
The author of the route and your guide will be Łukasz Ostoja-Kasprzycki, the winner of Warsaw Gems competition. Contest participants submitted routes along the hidden attractions of the capital. The best 10 routes can be found at:

The peaks that surround the lake rise about 1,000 meters above its surface; one of them is Rysy (2,499 meters), the highest peak in the Polish Tatras. Beside Mięguszowiecki Summits (including Mięguszowiecki Szczyt Wielki, 2,438 meters), farther away and slightly to the left, is the distinctive, slender Mnich (“Monk,” 2,068 meters). Many Swiss Pines also grow around the lake.[1]
In the past, Morskie Oko was called Rybie Jezioro (Fish Lake) due to its natural stock of fish, which are uncommon in Tatra lakes and ponds. In the clear depths of the water, one can easily notice trout - so called famine trout - that live in the lake. The name Morskie Oko (Sea Eye, Eye of the Sea) is derived from an old legend, according to which the lake was connected to the sea via an underground passage.

This is Gurudwara in Warsaw Poland, where people worship God with Faith and belief followers of the Sikh religion which is spread all over the world. Irrespective of faith, gender, ethnicity, or financial status, everyone is welcome in a Gurudwara. People from Warsaw Poland welcome the devotees with warm hearts and free food is served to each and every person. This is called Langar, the only condition is that you cover your head and take off your shoes before entering the langar hall and the holy temple.
All Gurudwaras have a langar hall, where people can eat free vegetarian food served by volunteers at the Gurdwara.
The most well-known Gurudwara are in the Darbar Sahib complex in Amritsar, Punjab including Darbar Sahib, the spiritual centre of the Sikhs and Akal Takht, the political centre of the Sikhs.
Some of the prominent Sikh shrines established by the Sikh gurus are:
Golden Temple in Amritsar.
Nankana Sahib, established in the 1490s by first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev, Punjab, Pakistan.
Sultanpur Lodhi, established in 1499 became the Sikh centre during Guru Nanak Dev time Kapurthala District, Punjab (India).
Kartarpur Sahib, established in 1521 by the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev, near River Ravi, Narowal, Punjab, Pakistan.
Khadur Sahib, established in 1539 by the second Sikh Guru, Guru Angad Dev ji, near River Beas, Amritsar District, Punjab, India.
