What to do in Ranong Thailand?... We spend a day in this beautiful Province
What to do with a day in Ranong? With less than 24 hours to spend in this province, we wondered how much of it we would be able to see. Turns out there was so much to do we have to split it over two episodes!
We also came dangerously close to adopting a puppy...

RANONG WHERE? Series New Destination in Thailand | Thailand Travel Episode 10
♡ Ranong Episode 3: Why Ranong is cool? It is one of the most underrated destinations in Thailand. IMHO. There are so many great things to offer the visitors and especially if you are a cultural traveler, you will love this place. Did you know that it also has the fewest inhabitants of all Thai provinces? The locals I met were very genuinely friendly and eager to let us visitors learn more of their home. In this video, I have highlighted the top 5 reasons why you should visit Ranong today!

Southern Thailand - Insider tips for Chumphon and Ranong
Southern Thailand is famous for its beautiful islands. From Chumphon on the East Coast and Ranong on the West Coast you can reach most of the popular ones. But what if you stayed on the mainland, focused on these two un-touristic cities and the smaller, less-known islands?
In this video I show you all the sights, highlights and insider tips for Chumphon and Ranong!
Chumphon: Have a traditional Thai breakfast at Chumphons fresh market and visit the local fishermen. Get an overview of the Chumphon region at the Khao Matsee Viewpoint and visit the Prince-of-Chumphon-Shrine. Explore the islands of the Mae Koh Chumphon National Park and check out the mangrove forest. Join the locals in cooking delicious Thai meals in Bang Mak and enjoy the prettiest beach of the area, Thung Wa Laen. Feast on fruits and dried fish before heading over to Ranong.
Ranong: Soak in the hot springs of Ranong after a morning bike ride. Visit the islands of the Laem Son National Park, especially the stunning view of Koh kam Tok. Let Gong from Gong Coffee explain to you what makes good coffee good coffee and enjoy a cashewnut shake afterseeing the roasting process. Visit the small villages and experience the authentic Thai lifestyle. Learn how to make your own ceramic in hat Som Paen and visit Ranong's 100-year-old house. Take a sunset cruise on the Royal Andaman Boat and feast in delicacies at the night market or in one of the amazing local restaurants.

RATTANA RANGSAN PALACE: A Must-See in Ranong, Thailand
RATTANA RANGSAN PALACE: A Must-See in Ranong, Thailand. Join Gar and Ann from 2gethersomewhere as we explore the city of Ranong, Thailand, next to the Burmese border and on the picturesque coast of the Andaman Sea. First , we roamed around the stately grounds of the King's palace named the Rattana Rangsan Palace, which overlooks the city. Three of Thailand's former kings have stayed in this palace, which was completely rehabbed 58 years ago. After leaving the palace, we dined at the best roti restaurant (Roti Nissara) just south of the city, which was very simple and cheap, but the roti was absolutely delicious! First Day In RANONG Southern Thailand 🇹🇭
There's a few different hot springs in Ranong but we happened to be staying just a 10 minutes walk from the Raksa Warin Hot Springs so we got up early and went to see what they are all about!
Entry was free and the hot springs where in such a nice location in the southern Thailand jungles, you really feel like your in a small town when your in Ranong.
Our hotel worker then offered us a free ride on the back of his bike into Ranong town to eat at the tastiest curry and roti spot in town, it did not disappoint the food here was so good.
We then end the video in a really good little coffee shop on a river, the location was so relaxing and the best part was the prices were the same as anywhere else.
Ranong is such a nice part of Thailand it's so green. Our first impressions of southern Thailand are shaping up pretty well 🇹🇭

Ranong, Thailand: The Northern Andaman Sea Gateway You Never Knew Existed, Episode #2
Our southern Thailand road trip continues in this 2nd episode as we leave Prachuap Khiri Khan on the Bay of Thailand and head south to the often-overlooked province of Ranong.
Along the way, we made a few stops, including:
Wat Suwan Khiri: This hilltop temple offered stunning views and a tranquil rest stop. It was fashioned after Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon, Myanmar; probably one of the largest and most impressive temples in all of southeast Asia.
Khao Fa Chi Viewpoint: We stopped at this panoramic viewpoint that looks out across the Kra Buri River with Myanmar as a stunning backdrop.
Coffee Shop: We discovered a delightful roadside coffee shop (ห้วยค้างคาว กาแฟสด) about 20 minutes north of Ranong , the perfect spot for a caffeine fix and relaxing break in their streamside garden.
Ranong's capital city, nestled where the Kra Buri River meets the Andaman Sea, is a fishing and trading port and a passageway to the southernmost town in Myanmar with a unique blend of Thai and Burmese cultures. We had some incredible seafood at Keing Lay Restaurant. If you're a seafood lover, don't miss this place - it alone was worth the trip!
We had a lot of ground to cover in our southern adventure so we didn’t spend a lot of time in Ranong proper. You’ll see why in our next video.
For those planning your own Ranong adventure, here are the Google Map links to the places we visited:
