Acapulco, Guerrero: Find Inexpensive Hotels - MEXICO w/Mike Vondruska - Travel Tip
You have options for hotels when staying at Mexico beach resort areas. You can reserve a room at a big resort or there are always inexpensive hotels nearby.
As you will see in this video, the room I booked in Acapulco has a big kitchen, balcony, two beds, and a big bathroom. From this place it was only a short 10 minute walk to the beachfront. The cost per night at the time I stayed there in February of 2017 was less than $35 USD.
With the money I saved, I could use it for going out to restaurants and booking excursions. Of course, I always have the option of buying food at the local grocery store or local fresh market and cooking it on the stove back at my accommodations.
It's nice to have options.

Even though I have VERY LITTLE money - I'm a HUGE believer in giving back/helping however I can - especially to communities when I'm traveling (& ESPECIALLY in Nicaragua - the poorest nation in the Americas). Often before going somewhere, I try to take up collections to share - especially for animals. I ask friends & vets if they have any dog supplies, tools, medicine (most medicines are good for a few years), collars, leashes, metal bowels & lots more!!
Or buy something - like 2 times this year I took over 150 very basic Rain Ponchos to pass out to people caught in sudden rainstorms in San Juan del Sur Nicaragua.
One of the biggest things I like to help with are feeding street dogs.
Ultimately I like to ask restaurants I frequent if they can save leftover food off people's plates & I'd come by at night to get it & feed the precious fur babies that don't have a home - but unfortunately I haven't found many willing to do it yet (even if I brought a bucket for them to dump things in making it easy & not messy for them).
Otherwise - I buy dog food to give out. Ultimately I like to do this late at night as MANY people let their dogs run free during the day to fend for themselves so they're not street dogs.
I go out with plates/bowls (ultimately that I can leave behind) of water (so they don't have to drink dirty water) & food.
Crunchies are the cheapest - but I find it funny how many dogs in Nicaragua seem to be picky - not liking crunchies (mainly because many people often give them their bones & other food) but eventually they get that's all I'm offering & usually eat it.
FARMACIA VETERINARIA NADHIEZDA Animal Supplies in San Juan del Sur - Nicaragua - is where I get my food from & with it's convenient location - it's a great place where visitors can buy things to help the street dogs &/or buy things to help the wonderful people doing great work with the street dogs & cats community. Here you can purchase food, medications to de-worm, fleas & ticks (a BIG problem), etc.
