A quick view of the town of Qormi, Malta 🇲🇹
While I was exploring some of the districts outside of Valletta, I had the opportunity to capture this view of the city of Qormi, Malta 🇲🇹
Qormi (Maltese: Ħal Qormi [ħal ʔormi]; pronounced Ħar Qurmi in the Qormi dialect), also known by its title Città Pinto, is a city in the Southern Region of Malta, southwest of Valletta in the centre of the island. It has a population of 16,324 (as of March 2018), making it Malta's fifth-largest city.
Its bordering towns are Marsa, Luqa, Żebbuġ, Siġġiewi, Ħamrun, Birkirkara, Attard, Santa Venera and Balzan.
Qormi has two parishes, one dedicated to Saint George and one to Saint Sebastian. It contains two valleys: Wied il-Kbir (The Large Valley) and Wied is-Sewda (Black Valley).
Elder inhabitants of Qormi speak a broad Qormi Dialect, which is now in decline.
In 1743 the town made a plea to Grand Master Manuel Pinto da Fonseca to elevate it to the level of a city. This was granted and the town received the title of Città Pinto on 25 May 1743. The decree issued by Pinto said Habita relatione, Terra Curmi erigmus In Civitatem, Imponentes el nomen Pinto, which means that the land of Qormi, to which he gave his own name Pinto, was then given higher dignity from a piece of land to a city, a fact which is now preserved in the locality's Latin motto: Altior Ab Imo (which means, rising from the low). Qormi's bakers served most of the island's bread supplies.
Malta's staple food is bread and Maltese bread is very much sought after. Qormi is recognized nationally as the capital of Maltese bread-making. It boasts the largest number of bakeries in the country, several of which still operate in the traditional manner using wood-fired ovens.
The importance of Qormi's history was highlighted back in 2007 when for the first time in its local history, Qormi hosted the national event of 'Lejl f'Casal Fornaro', meaning 'A night in Casal Fornaro' as Qormi was known hundreds of years ago. This event brought the greatest thousands that Qormi never witnessed before, outgrowing even the attendance for the traditional feasts.

~MALTA~ QORMI Tal- Hlas Chapel & Nature
Hello YouTube ! Today we are going for a pleasent walk in Qormi's countryside and to the nearby Tal- Hlas chapel. We take a little country passage that starts from Haz- Zebbug and take a glimpse of the beauty of the Maltese countryside. We then end up in a little quaint square infront of the chapel of Our Lady of Tal- Hlas. Enjoy !
History Of The Chapel
The chapel of Our Lady Tal- Hlas ( Of Childbirth ) is a very popular Marian pilgrimage site in the outskirts of Qormi. From time immemorial in the locality there was a chapel which was always a centre of popular devotions. In 1560 a new church was built, but the Treasurer of the Order of St. John, Fra Christopher Mangodoin, in 1690 substituted it by the present chapel. Newborns are presented infont of the titular painting of Our Lady as a sign of devotion and protection. Mass is celebrated every third Sunday of the month at 4.30pm. A traditional festa is also held every third Sunday of August organised by the nearby parish of St George.

AVOID MALTA IN 2023 - It's Not What You Think 🇲🇹
Just an honest video of what's it like in St. Paul's Bay - Bugibba & Qawra in Malta. This video represents my personal opinion, plus the presented state of things here. Sustainability levels of this island are becoming exhausted.
St. Paul's Bay, Malta is a local council consisting of Bugibba, Qawra and St. Paul's Bay residential areas. Full of shops, restaurants, hotels and couple of local seafood stores. It is also the most populated town in Malta, and the town with most of the construction works after St. Julian's and Sliema.

~MALTA~ MARSA from Qormi Car Tour
Marsa (Maltese: Il-Marsa) is a town in the South Eastern Region of Malta, with a population of 4,401 people as of March 2014. The name Marsa means the harbour. This car tour starts at Manwel Dimech Street in neighbouring town of Qormi, passes through 13th December Road in Marsa and ends at the Valletta Waterfront at the Grand Harbour. Enjoy!
Qormi, Malta - tour and points of interest
Qormi, also known as Hal Qormi or Città Pinto, is a city in Malta. It is located southwest of Valletta in the interior of the island of Malta. The church squares and old streets had a special charm, and are a beautiful vestige of the medieval past of the town.

Coffee ☕️ and Cannoli in Qormi, Malta 🇲🇹
One morning while visiting Qormi, Malta 🇲🇹 I stopped in to Young’s Bar (280 Triq Santa Katerina, Ħal Qormi, Malta) and had a delicious glass of coffee while enjoying a tasty cannoli from “The Old Bakery” (248 Triq Il-Vitorja, Ħal Qormi, Malta)
This place in Malta did NOT impress me
This place in Malta did not impress me, this is Qormi. If you are wondering what to see in Malta definitely have a look at a local area like Qormi, something that is very traditional but very rundown. This place needs some revamp. However, many expats are interested to live in Malta and on a budget, Qormi is a great place in Malta for people on a budget. It has a lot of boutiques, shops, markets, a lot of things to do in Malta. Qormi it is loccated in Central Malta so it is on a short distance to the capital Valletta, to Sliema and St. Julians!

~MALTA~ QORMI Tal-Handaq Morning Walk
Hello ! Today on a wonderful Sunday morning we go and explore a zone known as 'Tal- Handaq', which is found in the outskirts of the city of Qormi in a 1km walk ! Tal-Ħandaq is an area in Qormi, Malta. It is a low hill. Situated on the left side of Mdina Road in Qormi, in the old days it was a rural area, with a few farms. In the 19th century, the British established a barracks up the hill. Between January 1947 and July 1978 Tal-Ħandaq was the site of the Royal Naval School Tal-Handaq. The site re-opened as a new school in September 1981 as the Liceo Vassalli Junior Lyceum.
In the 1980s, the Malta Environment and Planning Authority (MEPA) started to issue permissions for houses to be built. However, after some residents settled there, plans were changed and the Tal-Ħandaq area was changed to an Industrial Zone and was renamed to Tal-Ħandaq Industrial Estate'. Nowadays, although there remain some residents and a few farms, the area has flourished with an extensive number of small businesses, the most common being Panel Beating and Spray Painting, Stoneworks, Steelworks and Woodworks. There is also a film studio.
