1.Buddha Dordenma-It is a giant golden Shakyamuni Buddha statue constructed to commemorate the anniversary of fourth king of Bhutan Jigme Singye Wangchuk. The statue sits atop a gilded meditation hall in Kuenselphodrang Nature Park and overlooks the southern entrance of the capital city, Thimphu.It is 169 feet tall and houses a total of 1,25,000 smaller Buddha statues inside it.
2.Taktsang Palphung Monastery-More popularly known as ‘Tiger’s Nest,’ Taktsang Palphung Monastery is one of the most prominent places to visit in Bhutan .The construction of the temple complex dates back to 1692. Located 3120 meters above the sea level in Paro Valley, this monastery is the cultural icon of Bhutan. The complex hangs to a cliff which makes it all the more unique and fascinating.
3.Tashichho Dzong -The Tashichho Dzong (Thimphu Dzong), Thimphu is a buddhist monastery and fortress that is located on the northern edge of the city close to the western banks of Wang Chu. It has been the seat of the government from the year 1952 and at the present time it is home to the throne room and many other offices of the king such as the ministries of Home Affairs, finance and the secretariat.The monument was constructed in the year 1216 AD by Lama Gyalwa Lhanangpa

Currently serving as the Administrative center of Punakha District, the construction of Punakha Dzong started in 1637.The confluence of Po Chu and Mo Chu Rivers by the dzong makes it appear even more picturesque.
6.Punakha Suspension Bridge-Apart from the very popular Punakha Dzong, what makes Punakha an interesting destination is Punakha Suspension Bridge, spanning over Po Chhu River. 7.National Museum-National Museum of Bhutan is located above Paro Dzong in the Paro district.The beautiful building consists of six floors, and each floor is dedicated to a different category of collections. The major attraction in the museum is an egg kept here that is considered a mule’s egg. Besides, you can find interesting collections of arms, ritual objects, clothes, jewelry, religious articles, scroll paintings and much more in this museum that enlighten visitors about the history, culture and rituals of Bhutan.
8.Jigme Dorji National Park-This is the second largest national park in Bhutan and is an absolute treat for wildlife lovers on Bhutan trip. The park stretches over a very vast area – 4316 sq. km which is evident from the fact that its elevation ranges from 1400 m to 7000 m. Some of the major attractions in this park are threatened fauna species like clouded leopard, Bengal tiger, Himalayan blue sheep, Himalayan black bear, etc. along with many other local and exotic species of flora and fauna.
