One of the top things to do in Valencia is to explore the City of Arts and Sciences, a futuristic complex that houses an interactive science museum, an aquarium, and an IMAX cinema. This architectural marvel is a testament to Valencia's innovative spirit and commitment to education and entertainment.
For history buffs, the old town is a treasure trove of attractions. The Valencia Cathedral, home to what is claimed to be the Holy Grail, is a must-visit. Nearby, the UNESCO-listed Silk Exchange (La Lonja) showcases stunning Gothic architecture. Wandering through the narrow streets of the El Carmen neighborhood, you'll discover charming squares, street art, and hidden cafes.
Beach lovers will find plenty to enjoy in Valencia. The city boasts beautiful stretches of sand, with La Malvarrosa being the most popular. Here, you can relax, swim, or indulge in water sports. For a more secluded experience, head to El Saler beach in the Albufera Natural Park.
One of the best things to do in Valencia is to immerse yourself in its culinary scene. The birthplace of paella, Valencia offers numerous restaurants where you can savor this iconic dish. The Central Market, a modernist building housing over 1,000 stalls, is perfect for sampling local produce and specialties.
Nature enthusiasts will appreciate the Turia Gardens, a unique park created in the former riverbed of the Turia River. This green oasis stretches for kilometers through the city, offering spaces for cycling, jogging, or simply relaxing.
For those seeking free things to do in Valencia, many museums offer complimentary entry on Sundays. Additionally, simply strolling through the historic center or along the beach promenade costs nothing but provides priceless experiences.
When the sun sets, Valencia comes alive with a different energy. Things to do in Valencia at night include bar hopping in the Ruzafa neighborhood, enjoying a concert at the Palau de les Arts, or taking a moonlit stroll along the beach.
Cool things to do in Valencia include attending the famous Las Fallas festival in March, where giant papier-mâché figures are paraded and then burned in a spectacular display. Year-round, visitors can learn about this tradition at the Fallas Museum.
