Walking along Canal Saint-Martin, Paris France 4K
Walking along Canal Saint-Martin Paris France
The Canal Saint-Martin is a 4.6 km long canal in Paris, connecting the Canal de l'Ourcq to the river Seine. Over nearly half its length, between the Rue du Faubourg du Temple and the Place de la Bastille, it was covered, in the mid-19th century, to create wide boulevards and public spaces on the surface. The canal is drained and cleaned every 10–15 years, and it is always a source of fascination for Parisians to discover curiosities and even some treasures among the hundreds of tonnes of discarded objects.

Medieval villages and castle Forte di Bard | Day 3 of Via Francigena from Arnad to Pont Saint Martin
It was the third day of Via Francigena trail when we hiked around 20 kms from the village Arnad to Pont Saint Martin.
We had a very quiet and calm night in the secluded forest place that we found yesterday. We slept for 8 hours straight and with fresh powers were ready to hit the trail. All the first part of the day we were walking along the fields and mostly on pavement car roads with no shadow. That was absolutely killing because the sunlight was very strong and hot. Then we crossed the old river bridge and the most boring part of the trail started. It was all on the car roads and along the fields close to the highway. The only thing that was saving the situation a bit were the incredible rocky mountains that were very close to us…

We are a couple who once fell in love with mountains and couldn't get back. So we decided to follow our heart and move from a big city to a small village to be able to do what we love and to create this content. Our goal is to promote the healthy lifestyle, to motivate people to travel more and care for nature around. We are passionate walkers who love hiking, trekking and camping. We offer the detailed information of our hikes and routes, including the map and all the directions, so that you can repeat it if you'd like to.
We choose walking over driving and other types of transportation whenever we can because we learnt that this way we see so much more and can explore and feel the place better. Walking is an excellent activity that has so many benefits to your health and requires no special equipment or practice, so we encourage you to get the most out of it and get out walking.
We speak English, Spanish, French and Russian, so don't hesitate to address to us in your native language.

FAQ:
How long have you lived in France? Over five years now, holy cow.
What do you miss most about ho- NACHOS
You're always talking about living on some ship. WHAT SHIP? - I made a Draw My Life video that explains a lot here:
Where are you from originally? - Pullman, Washington - a small university/agricultural town near Idaho (and yes, the potatoes are amazing).
What do you film with? - I've made a lot of changes recently, but I try to keep my gear list up to date if you want to see what I use and buy some for yourself:
What do you edit with? - Adobe Premiere - it's pretty much all I've ever used since high school.
Aren't you ever freaked out by leaving your camera behind to film yourself? - Yep. But not too badly - I tend to be careful when I do.
Why are you living in #Paris? - Because I've always wanted to; I feel at home here:
Do you speak French? - Oui.
Do you make money off YouTube? - Ha, sorta. I wish. It took me over 500 videos to make my first total $100 off adsense. I think it will slowly change, but VERY slowly.
I really enjoy your videos, how can I support you? - The easiest and best way to support me is through Patreon, where you can pitch in as little as $5/mo to help me make better videos:
I don't trust this Patreon thing - can I just paypal you? - Here's my ko-fi if that's your thing (and coffee is your game):
But I want to send you something tangible! - I do have a wishlist on Amazon, though it's a bit complicated with the international shipping situation. So instead people often drop off or ship things to the Peloton Cafe in Paris for me.
Thanks for watching!
Pont Saint Martin in the Italian Aosta Valley
Pont Saint Martin in the Aosta Valley was the end of my second trip on the GTA. Here, on the same day, I made a forced march from Refugio Coda early in the morning with a 2000m altitude loss descent into the Aosta Valley. After still being in the cold at the top, it was almost 30 degrees summery warm in the Italian town. I had to get myself two ice creams straight away and was able to take a brief look at the thousand-year-old city in the evening. There was already a settlement there in Roman times and the bridge was 2000 years old!
