Port Wine is, by far, the most famous and most exported Portuguese wine. Peso da Régua | Duoro wine Valley Portugal | 4K drone footage
Peso da Régua - the town's name comes from the name of a Roman house that once stood on the site - Villa Reguela. Its great development, however, did not begin until after 1756 with the creation of the Royal Company of Winegrowers of the Alto Douro Region, which established the world's first demarcated wine-producing region.
Located on the banks of the Douro River, the village of Peso da Régua was instrumental in the production and marketing of port wine, because it was from here that the barrels were transported in special boats called barcos rabelos to Vila Nova de Gaia, where the wine was aged in local wineries.
In this region, the vines are grown on terraced slopes descending to the river, providing visitors with a number of spectacular views that are best enjoyed from numerous vantage points, such as São Leonardo in Galafura and Santo António do Loureiro.

Hello everybody.
Another video about the most beautiful towns and villages in Portugal, and this time we went to the District of Vila Real, more precisely to the town of Pinhão.

The Parish of Pinhão belongs to the municipality of Alijó, district of Vila Real.
Rise Again Portugal Map (Location):
It is located in the Douro Demarcated Region, bathed by the Douro and Pinhão rivers, its geographical situation makes this parish an important commercial warehouse, a place demarcated as being on the Port Wine route.
Port Wine was transported across the river first in Rabelos boats, later in train wagons through the Douro line, and finally in tanker trucks.
Pinhão was a pioneer in the installation of the electrical network and public lighting, being the first parish in the district of Vila Real to have a telephone, permanent post office and piped water.
In terms of heritage, this town has a Railway Station decorated with tiles dating from 1937 that were commissioned from the Aleluia factory, one of the most beautiful in Portugal, consisting of 24 panels with wine motifs.
The Road Bridge over the Douro River was designed by Gustave Eiffel in the 19th century.

About what Pinhão has to offer, above all, and because it is a very peaceful place and with some particularities with regard to the journey by land, I would suggest a day visit, recommending the trip by boat.
The boat trip allows you to contemplate all the natural beauty that is provided by the banks of the Douro River, with the slopes full of vines, planted on the hills of the mountains in an arrangement of unique beauty.
There are many options to choose from, with regard to the boat trip, in which everyone can choose which company they want to take the trip with.
For example, one of the companies has the following program, through which you have two zones to choose from for boarding, either in Porto or in Vila Nova de Gaia, with a price that can vary between a minimum of €85 and a maximum of €108, depending on the time of year and day of the week.
*The trip includes:*
- Check in at 08H00 with boarding at Vila Nova de Gaia Pier or Cais da Ribeira;
- Breakfast service on board;
- Climbing the Crestuma-Lever dam (14 m difference) and the Carrapatelo dam (35 m difference);
- Lunch served on board;
- Arrival at Cais da Régua;
- Ascent of the Régua dam (27 m difference);
- 17H00 Scheduled arrival at Pinhão and disembarkation;
- Transfer to a Farm in the Region
- Visit with Wine Tasting
- Return trip by tourist bus to Porto
- 21H15 Expected arrival in Porto

ROTEIRO DO DOURO: DE PORTO A PESO DA RÉGUA | ROAD TRIP PORTUGAL | LATITUDE INFINITA
Pegamos o máximo da rodovia que margeia o Rio Douro. Essa estrada é a N108. Quando você pesquisa no Google Maps, a rota que irá lhe fornecer será outra, uma mais rápida e não tão bonita quanto a N108. Por isso, você precisa alterar a rota criada do google para que ela permaneça a maior parte do tempo na N108.
Para ir do Porto a Peso da régua, nós pegamos a N108. Aliás, para conseguir pegá-la você tem que ficar de olho no GPS. Usualmente ele tenta alterar para uma rota mais rápida, então, você a todo momento tem que alterar no mapa.

Nós chegamos a almoçar em Peso da Régua, mas fizemos uma escolha errada e não recomendarei o local. Porém, na cidade em si tem muitos lugares legais para você conhecer e se aventurar na comida.
Aliás, se você conseguir ficar um dia por aqui, dá para fazer passeio nas vinícolas, andar de barco pelo Douro e muito mais.
