Pazin is a town in western Croatia, the administrative seat of Istria County. It is known for medieval Pazin Castle, the former residence of the Istrian margraves.The town had a population of 8,638 in 2011, of which 4,386 lived in the urban settlement. Pazin is a town located in the heart of Istria, Croatia.
👉Pazin Castle: An important landmark, Pazin Castle is built on a rock and offers impressive views of the city and its surroundings.
👉Pazin Cave: Also known as the King of the Cave, it is a natural cave located below the castle. This was a subject of interest and inspiration for the writer Jules Verne.
👉Ponte di Ferro: an iron bridge built in the 19th century, which connects the two parts of the city over the Pazinčica River.
👉Ethnographic Museum of Istria: Housed in a noble palace, the museum offers a foray into the traditional life of Istria.
👉Cultural events: Pazin hosts various cultural events and festivals throughout the year, bringing local traditions and customs to the fore.
👉Stone Bridge (Kameni Most)
Nature walks and excursions: the surroundings offer opportunities for nature walks and excursions, allowing visitors to explore the beauty of the Istrian landscapes.
👉The Pazin Abyss is a chasm on the edge of which was Monteccuoli Castle (Pazin Castle). The cave and the two lakes here are difficult to navigate, but you can cross the chasm with the zipline, the zipline which is 200 meters long and 100 meters high.

Дорогие друзья, мы с Вами отправляемся в самый центр полуострова Истрия - город Пазин (Pazin), который, оказывается и является столицей полуострова!

Пазин (хорв. Pazin, итал. Pisino, нем. Mitterburg) — город в Хорватии, в центральной части полуострова Истрия.
Население — около 5 тыс. чел.
Пазин — столица хорватской провинции Истрия, несмотря на то, что он далеко не самый большой город полуострова.
Во многом столичный статус Пазина объясняется тем, что это единственный крупный город полуострова, расположенный в его центре, на значительном удалении от морского побережья.
Пазин расположен на пересечении ведущих через горную часть полуострова шоссе Пореч — Риека и Пула — Пазин. Город связан регулярным автобусным сообщением с Пулой, другими истрийскими городами, а также с Риекой и через неё с остальной Хорватией.
Город впервые упомянут в 983 г.
В 1374 г. Пазин перешёл под власть Габсбургов. Развитие города шло в основном вокруг крепости. В 1920 г. город вместе со всей Истрией вошёл в состав Италии, после второй мировой войны перешёл к Югославии, большая часть итальянского населения покинула город.
С 1991 г. — в составе независимой Хорватии.
Основные достопримечательности:
- Пазинский замок (Kaštel Pazin) — построен в X веке, полностью перестроен в XV—XVI веках. Частично разобран в XIX веке.
После окончания Второй мировой войны превращён в музей.
- Церковь св. Николая — готическая церковь, построена в 1443 году.
- Францисканская церковь XV века. Ныне в церкви располагается музей средневековых картин, скульптур, а также древних глаголических манускриптов.
- Пазинская пещера (Pazinska jama) — находится рядом с городом. Она была открыта в 1896 году и представляет собой великолепный образец карстовой пещеры.

Ziplining in Pazin, Croatia
Today, we're in the Istrian town of Pazin. We'll zipline across Pazin Canyon, take a short hike down into the lush canyon below, and end the day at our favorite restaurant, Peperone.
