Palma di Montechiaro was made famous by Tomasi di Lampadusa's book Il Gattopardo or the Leopard.
We visit the main sites including the mother church, Palazzo Ducale, the Benedictine Monastery to buy some sweets made by the nuns and we admire the Castle of Montechiaro while driving to Marina di Palma. We also sample some local goodies.

In Villa Romana del Casale we found one of the largest and most exquisite collections of mosaics and the Roman villa is also exquisite! In Canicatti we loved our friends bread store and the ancient part of town is beautiful. Segesta has one of the most important and well kept examples of Doric Greek Temples in the entire island of Sicily. Come explore Sicily with us.

We take you to Cerami, Melilli, Cefala Diana, Marineo, Piana degli Albanesi, Bagheria, Aspra, Castelbuono, Randazzo and Linguaglossa. Part one of hidden gems is here :
Cerami was the site of an important battle between the arabs and Normans in the 11 th century. Its a beautiful town in the Province of Enna. Mellili, also on top of a hill in the province of Siracusa. In Palermo, Cefala Diana has a great castle, and an Arab bath that is till intact. Bagheria has great palaces including Villa Palgonia. Piana degli Albanesi has a large Sicilian Albanian Greek Orthodox population. In Aspra, the anchovy museum is a must visit. Gambini Vine is a great Mount Etna vineyard in Lingoaglossa. Randazzo is also great town to visit. Put these towns on your list when visiting Sicily.

We start in Catania, head south to the province of Siracusa and Ortigia, Noto, Marzamemi and other smaller towns. This area has the best beaches of the East coast. We also go to Ragusa and Modica.
