I spent 3 weeks in the Czech Republic in search of the best places to visit. After featuring this awesome country in our Top 10 destinations for 2015 video, we needed to go and experience it for ourselves. The Czech Republic exceeded our expectations.
Prague was great, as expected, but there's so much to discover outside the big the city!. The national parks and natural reserves are incredibly beautiful.

Krivoklat Castle | Daytrip from Prague
Today we will travel 60 km west from Prague to visit a castle that was used as a prison. Many interesting prisoners were kept within its walls, even the famous emperor and Bohemian king Charles IV. But probably the most famous prisoner was an English alchemist Edward Kelley and it is his story that Valery will tell you today.
Getting to Krivoklat is pretty easy. Take a train from Prague's main train station or Smichovske nadrazi to Beroun and there change to a small train to Krivoklat. Make sure to get on the correct train when changing - either ask the conductor which platform it goes from or quickly check the board in the station building.

Zámecká zahrada Lány / Lány Castle Garden - Czech Republic
Zámek Lány je barokní stavba, jež se nachází na jižním okraji obce Lány v okrese Kladno ve Středočeském kraji západně od Prahy. Zámek je situován na severním okraji rozsáhlých křivoklátských lesů (CHKO Křivoklátsko), jeho součástí je rozsáhlý anglický park, rybník Bahňák, velký palmový skleník a přilehlá Lánská obora. K zámku také patřil hospodářský dvůr.
Od roku 1921 je zámek majetkem státu a stal se oficiálním letním sídlem prezidentů Československa, dnes prezidentů České republiky. 16. prosince 1921 zde byla během návštěvy rakouského prezidenta Hainische a kancléře Schobera podepsána Lánská smlouva (též „Pražská smlouva“), která potvrdila politiku přátelské spolupráce mezi Československem a Rakouskem.
Zámek včetně přilehlého kostela a zámeckého parku je chráněn jako kulturní památka České republiky.

We traveled to a remote Czech village to visit a Czech version of Stonehenge. The village is called Holasovice and is today protected by the UNESCO World Heritage organization. Let's see which Stonehenge is better. The Czech one or the English one.
Holasovice is a small remote village located in Southern Bohemia. The first mention of the village comes from the 13th century. Since 1998 Holasovice is protected by the UNESCO world heritage organization for its rural baroque architecture and preservation of its typical medieval village layout.

In our today's video, we are going to visit Vinohrady, recently named the 32 best neighborhood in the world by Time Out Magazine. Vinohrady has long been considered the best place to live in Prague and attracted Bohemian circles. Vinohrady is famous for its 19th-century architecture, restaurants, coffee places, parks, and churches. In this video, Valery is going to show you Naměstí Míru, Grebovka park, Jiřího z Poděbrad, and Riegrovy sady. However, there are certain drawbacks to living in Vinohrady, for example, the high prices for apartments and the polluted air.
10 OLDEST Buildings in Prague's Historic City Center
This time we'll look at Prague from a different angle. We'll go discover the 10 oldest buildings you can find in the historic city center of Prague.
There are some buildings that we have purposefully excluded, that are in their core older than some of those mentioned in this video (Church of St. John the Baptist Na Pradle, Church of Our Lady Beneath the Chain, Church of the Assumption of Virgin Mary in Strahov Monastery, etc.) The reason for that is that they went through many reconstructions and if we observe strictly just the exterior of the church, it looks like a baroque church.

Visiting the Lost Capital of WW2 Czechoslovakia
On the 1st of October 1938, the German army crossed the borders of Czechoslovakia to occupy its first territory - Sudetenland. One of the largest cities of this occupied district was Reichenberg, which will become Sudetenland's new capital. Interestingly, most Czechs nowadays wouldn't be able to point out on the map, where Reichenberg was. It's not that the city disappeared. It till today exists, under a completely different name: Liberec. In today's video, we will explore the history of Reichenberg and how it was connected to WW2 Czechoslovakia. Don't worry! We will also show you some cool things to do in Liberec in case you decide to go there for a day trip from Prague!

Подпишись / Subscribe Saint Barbara's Church (Czech: Chrám svaté Barbory) is a Roman Catholic church in Kutná Hora (Bohemia) in the style of a Cathedral, and is sometimes referred to as the Cathedral of St Barbara (Czech: Katedrál sv. panny Barbory). It is one of the most famous Gothic churches in central Europe and it is a UNESCO world heritage site. St Barbara is the patron saint of miners (among others), which was highly appropriate for a town whose wealth was based entirely upon its silver mines. (c)
Собо́р Свято́й Варва́ры (чеш. Chrám svaté Barbory — Храм Святой Барборы) — самый известный архитектурный памятник Кутной-Горы, второй по величине и значимости готический храм Чехии, построенный в стиле поздней (владиславской) готики. Относится к самым необычным готическим строениям такого типа в Центральной Европе.
С архитектурной точки зрения это готический собор базиликального типа. Причина его строительства является совершенно уникальной. Он был построен не по заказу некоторых религиозных организаций, или для литургических нужд прихода, а с самого начала построен, как большое репрезентативное здание по инициативе богатых бюргеров из города Кутна Гора. Согласно каноническому закону был первоначально только капеллой. Однако архитектурно смело может конкурировать с собором в Праге. Он выражает современную напряженность между Прагой и Кутной Горой, а также между Кутной Горой и Седлецким монастырем, у которого было большое влияние, хотя Кутна Гора была королевским городом. Таким образом, церковь была построена за пределами городских стен на земле главы Праги.
С 1995 года собор в списке Всемирного наследия ЮНЕСКО.

MISTAKES Tourists Make When Using PRAGUE PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Many Prague travelers make these mistakes when using Prague public transport. We've decided to make a video that will help you avoid these mistakes and save you from receiving a fine. Better spend that money on beer!
Prague public transport tickets are time-based. You can purchase a ticket for 30 minutes, 90 minutes, or for 1 or 3 days. All of the public transport vehicles are included in the ticket.
The biggest mistake tourists make is that they believe that if they validate a ticket incorrectly, the ticket control will forgive them since they are tourists. NO! Trust us, the ticket controllers are actively searching for tourists to squeeze money out of them because part of their pay comes from giving fines and tourists are the easiest prey. So make sure to buy the tickets and validate them properly!
