A scenic road journey through Oxie and Svedala, Sweden
A coach trip through the Swedish countryside from Malmö to Svedala with a stop in Oxie.
I've tried to detail the route taken, for anyone wanting to follow it on a map or Google Earth.
I was working on a machine at a factory in Svedala for several weeks during 2021, staying near the Malmo Arena and commuting on the train. One weekend the tracks were closed for maintenance and a coach service was running instead.
That resulted in two rather more sedate and scenic journeys, which I filmed through the window.
There is not much to see from the normal train - and that cruises at 160 kph, so not much time to see anything anyway!
The train on that route stops in the town of Oxie, so the replacement service did as well - resulting in a complete loop from the leaving E65 motorway, around the town and getting back on to the E65 at the same junction we left, and giving some good views of the local Swedish architecture.
It was unfortunately raining just before this video starts and the window took a while to dry out enough to get good results; the first part leaving Malmö was unusable due to the focus jumping about.
The other video I'm posting has the return journey with the views to the opposite side of the roads and in rather nicer and brighter weather.
ps. If you are wondering what the Technology connection is - I was programming a Siemens PLC & HMI system for a customer, and that required travel :)

Malmö Central Station is a railway station on the Southern Main Line in Malmö, Sweden, that opened in 1856. It serves approximately 17 million passengers per year.

Malmö Station was first opened in 1856, coinciding with the opening of the Malmö–Lund railway. At the time, the area was considered the outer edge of the city, but was convenient to Copenhagen-bound ferries, which loaded and unloaded in the Inre hamnen right in front of the station building.
The building was nearly destroyed in a fire ten years later, on 14 December 1866. When the building was reconstructed, the bell tower was kept. That part, between the platforms and the square Centralplan, was reopened in 1872.[2]
More and more lines were built and consequently more and more tracks and train sheds were needed. The new train shed with four new tracks opened in 1891. The Malmö-Kontinentens Järnväg from Malmö to Trelleborg was built in 1898. In 1926, Malmö Central Station became the station's official name.[3]
Though the train shed was built as a terminus, there is also a single through-line for freight next to the station building, allowing hopper wagons to access the port, where they serve a large granary plant producing most of the flour for baking in the counties of Skåne and Halland.
In 2000, both local and long-distance trains began running directly to Denmark via the new Öresund Bridge. Malmö became the centre of the new Öresund train regional railway system spanning eastern Denmark and much of southern Sweden, which in 2009 became integrated with local buses and trains in most of its service areas. The trains were, however, forced to reverse direction in Malmö’s terminal station, creating delays for anyone travelling to Denmark from Lund and beyond, and restricting the frequency of service, as each train had to both enter and leave Malmö by the same tracks, taking up space in between.
This situation was solved with the opening of the City Tunnel in December 2010, finally allowing through traffic. All passenger traffic to/from Denmark now uses the tunnel, and most local trains use it, too, terminating instead at Hyllie station at the other end of the tunnel if not going beyond Malmö.
The tunnel tracks make up tracks 1-4, and most traffic has shifted to this new lower level of Malmö Central Station. The main overall roof sees relatively little traffic. It was renovated at the same time to accommodate occasional long-distance trains including some services to Stockholm and the night express to Berlin. Its tracks are numbered 5-10 (six tracks as opposed to the original seven: one track was torn up during renovation to allow for more commercial space adjacent to the Centralplan bus terminal). The adjacent train shed previously used for local Pågatågen was demolished in its entirety to allow for an extension to the Centralplan, its traffic taken over by the City Tunnel.

Persborg station, Malmö
Filmen visar stationen Persborg i Malmö. Filmen visar några tåg, stationen samt lite av stationens omgivningar.
Stationen ligger på Kontinentalbanan. Den byggdes 1898 för att ta hand om trafiken ut till kontinenten, via Trelleborg. Kontinentalbanan elektrifierades 1933. 1955 började tågen till Ystad att gå denna väg (tidigare gick de från Malmö V-Södervärn).
När persontågen började gå annan väg (via Citytunneln) 2011, så stängdes stationen. 2018 öppnade stationen igen, då persontåg åter började trafikera Kontinentalbanan.
Filmen spelades in i juli 2021.

Stationen öppnade år 2000, när Öresundsbron öppnade. Alla tåg till/från Danmark gick den här vägen tills Citytunneln öppnade 2010. Då var det bl.a. SJs Intercitytåg och Veolia Transports tåg som stannade vid stationen. 2010 stängdes stationen tillfälligt.
Från 2011 började Pågatågen Malmö-Ystad-Simrishamn stanna vid stationen, när dessa tåg började köra via Citybanan. Från slutet av 2015 började istället tågen Malmö-Trelleborg stanna vid stationen. Från slutet av 2018 stannade också tågen på den då nyöppnade Malmöringen (Malmö C-Östervärn-Rosengård-Persborg-Svågertorp-Hyllie-Triangeln-Malmö C).
Notera att stationen har högertrafik, då Danmark har det. Växlingen mellan höger och vänstertrafik sker i norra Malmö.
