Finnish Education: Shocking Vantaa School Visit

After several trips to Finland visiting Forrest schools, preschools, elementary and middle schools I have to say this experience topped the rest. It was great to connect with the program director, asking questions relating to special education as well as questions about transitions to elementary school. Visiting a school outside of Helsinki where the population was very diverse was also very eye-opening. Some of the children were immersed in both their native language and the Finnish language as well as English. The teachers were also very engaging and it highlighted the importance of visiting schools around the world to learn from other educators.

As a Black women who loves to travel, I'm here to tell you seeing the world is for you. If you don't know where to start, heading overseas with an educational tourism group is a great place to begin your journey. I've been to Finland three times with education groups. The first two were with EF and the latest has been with #bookbagtours. It's a great way to learn about a new country and culture. But also a great way to gain teaching insight and professional development.
This channel is for all women, especially Black women and women of color who are burnt out at their teaching jobs and want change. I'm here to motivate, inspire and help you take some action steps in the right the direction that works for you.
