Best part of going to El Salvador: the seafood!!! #salvadoran #food #elsalvador #travel #tierra
One of my favorites salvadoran dishes, outside of pupusas of course is cocktail de conchas. These creatures are yummig, softer in texture than oysters and refreshing. You put lots of lemon and they your taste buds do a happy dance.

El Salvador is the Future of Central America
El Salvador Travel Vlog | El Salvador is one my favorite countries. I visited San Salvador, Lake Ilopango, and Olocuilta.
San Salvador is the capital of El Salvador and it has transformed within the last four years since the election of President Nayib Bukele in 2019. San Salvador is a very lively and fun city. The Central Market (Mercado Central) gives you a feel of what San Salvador is really like. I felt safer in San Salvador than anywhere else in Central America (I felt safe everywhere but felt extra safe in San Salvador).
Lake Ilopango (Lago Ilopango) is to the east of San Salvador. Lake Ilopango is beautiful. The views from Café Santa Cruz are stunning. Viewing Lake Ilopango front the view point while having a meal and seeing the volcanos, forests, and overall scenery is hard to beat. I would argue Lago Ilopango is one of the best viewing points, and placing to be, in all of El Salvador.
Olocuilta is the papusa capital of El Salvador (and the world!). Olocuilta is a must visit as you pass this town coming straight from El Salvador International Airport to San Salvador. Olocuilta has papusa resturants (papusarias) lined up the entirety of the town. Olocuilta literally just has papusarias it is incredible. If you want a Papusa in El Salvador, visit Olocuilta!
Sites visited: El Salvador, San Salvador, Lago Ilopango, Olocuilta, Mercado Central, Catedral Metropolitana, National Library of El Salvador, Plaza Libertad, Parque San Jose, San Salvador Papusarias, Asamblea Legislativa, Planes De Renderos, Street Food Vendros in Planes de Renderos, Parque Cuscatlán, Estadio Cuscatlán, Lago Ilopango, Lo Nuestro Papusaria in Olocuilta

Pupusas Typicos Margoth - San Salvador, El Salvador
►Read the blog:
In this episode of El Salvador Unplugged, DBH takes us on the road from Santa Ana to the capital city of San Salvador. After a quick rest, David takes off for Tipicos Margoth, a local eatery where he tries some traditional food and drink exclusive to El Salvador. From pupusas, a corn tortilla mixed with pork, cheese and beans, to horchata, a pumpkin seed beverage, David falls in love with the local fare and the laid back atmosphere it's served in. Both the food and the restaurant are a must try when visiting the capital city. Continuing the tour, David takes off to see the archaeological side of El Salvador, where he'll visit three sites of important Mayan ruins as well as Lake Coatepeque.
