🇲🇽 The Most INCREDIBLE BEACH Town in MEXICO! | SAN CARLOS, SONORA | Mexico TRAVEL 2022

🇲🇽 SAN CARLOS, SONORA - Welcome to Mexico! This video is Episode 15 of my 2022 Mexico Travel series and we are continuing our journey in Sonora by heading from Ciudad Obregon to Heroica Guaymas de Zaragoza (or just Guaymas) and San Carlos Nuevo Guaymas (or just San Carlos) for the weekend. There are many popular beach locations and towns in Mexico which are popular with Mexicans, foreigners and expats alike, such as Puerto Vallarta, Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Acapulco and so on. But is San Carlos the most INCREDIBLE BEACH TOWN in Mexico?

*AD* - *Video sponsored by Paradise Real Estate - Interested in getting away to San Carlos? At Paradise Real Estate we can help with rentals, sales or almost anything else! We are local subject matter experts and are here to help. Visit our website at for more details!*

Sonora is a vast state, full of desert, hills, mountains and amazing Mexican food (comida mexicana) such as Carne Asada, Cahuamanta, a drink called Bacanora (coming in a future video) and so much more. San Carlos itself is tranquil and feels somewhat undiscovered, despite being home to many expats or those who have embarked on the journey of moving to Mexico.

You’ll find many things to do in San Carlos, such as Cerro Tetakawi, a monstrous volcanic hill overlooking the sea, the Vista Point which is National Geographic’s recommended ‘top ocean view in the WORLD’, numerous beaches including Los Algodones, hiking in various canyons, tourist and local restaurants, and a multitude of activities.

🇲🇽 MAJESTIC MAPIMÍ, Durango | MEXICO'S Ultimate MAGICAL Town | CERRO de la India | Mexico Travel

🇲🇽 MAPIMÍ, DURANGO - It’s time to revisit the GOD MODE state of Durango, Mexico for Part 28 of my 2022 Mexico Travel Series, this time coming to you from the MAJESTIC Pueblo Mágico (Magical Town) of Mapimí!

I stayed in Durango for around 6 weeks in 2021, during which time I visited Puente de Ojuela which is actually closer to the cities of Gómez Palacio and Torreón (the latter in the state of Coahuila). Unfortunately, I was sick at the time and didn’t have the opportunity to visit Mapimí… a difficult to reach location in Northern Mexico. It was always my plan to have the Mapimí video as the final NORMEX video of 2022 before heading back to Mexico City!

As well as eating Gorditas de Discada (one of the awesome examples of Mexican food or Comida Mexicana in Durango, visiting the local church and exploring around town, we also head to Cerro de la India (India Hill - or high hill/stone/mountain in an indigenous language) and visit an abandoned church! In the area, you can also visit Zona del Silencio, Grutas del Rosario and other sights. The area very much reminded me of Nombre de Dios or Real de Catorce!

If you’re thinking of becoming expats in Mexico or moving to Mexico, you don’t have to move to San Miguel de Allende or Guanajuato or listen to the outdated ‘is Mexico safe’ rhetoric. Somewhere like Torreón or Durango may not be traditionally ‘pretty’, but it still has a tremendous amount to offer!

Nexus Brewery & Restaurant is widely considered to be the best place to go in Albuquerque if you’re looking for craft beer and soul food. The eatery offers are laidback experience to its guests, which falls completely on the opposite end of the spectrum from the fine-dining experience that’s offered up by Antiquity Restaurant. Antiquity Restaurant offers up Southwestern cuisine. Le Troquet is another fancy restaurant, this time offering French cuisine.

Seared Bistro is a meat lover’s paradise, though those averse to partaking in flesh can find solace in the eatery’s non-GMO veggie burger. Sawmill Market is more similar to a farmers’ market than a restaurant, though there are many places within it to get great fresh food. Farm & Table is one of many Albuquerque eateries that focus on offering up a seasonal menu that utilizes fresh and locally sourced ingredients. Meanwhile, Frenchish offers up a more family-friendly alternative to dining at the French Le Troquet.

Finally, Seasons 52 is a vegetable-centric eatery with a name that pays reverence to the number of weeks in the average year. Other restaurants that we’ll examine in this video include High Noon Restaurant & Saloon, Campo at Los Poblanos, Cocina Azul, Mary & Tito’s Café, Duran Central Pharmacy, Debajo Tapas y Vino, Padilla’s Mexican Kitchen, the Artichoke Café. Traveling to a RANDOM State in Mexico (you won’t believe what we saw!)

We absolutely love traveling Mexico- so much so that there are only 8 states in Mexico that we have not visited. Today we are going to let our friends choose which of the 8 states we should visit next!

Thank you to our Patrons for making this video possible!

Welcome to the beautiful state of Hidalgo!
We FINALLY made it to the Grutas de Tolantongo! After more than three years of exploring Mexico, we finally made it to this magical place! You must try pastes, the typical food of miners. There are tons of pastes places everywhere throughout Hidalgo. There is a big chain called Pasteko that sells a delicious one of potatoes and meat. Also...cajeta and pecans..Need we say more?!

If you are staying in Pachuca, see if you can catch a soccer game! There is a local team there and the stadium is near town! Tickets are only $50 pesos ($2.70 USD) and we had so much fun cheering on the home team!

Finally, if you're looking for a little day trip, head to Real del Monte for the day! This is an old mining town where Cornish people were sent for their mining talents in the 1800s. The town is windy, charming, and quiet. Here, you can taste enchiladas mineras which are...so so yummy! Taxi fare from Pachuca to Real del Monte is $200 pesos $10.80 USD) and takes about 30 minutes.

🇲🇽 SPECTACULAR San Luis POTOSÍ | The Most ICONIC CITY in Mexico? | TRAVEL MEXICO 2022

🇲🇽 SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, Mexico - For part 19 of my 2022 Mexico Travel series we’re back in the legendary San Luis Potosí, a city and state I have now visited 4 times. You can check out the playlist of videos below!

FULL SAN LUIS PLAYLIST -

This video is very much a REMAKE, incorporating points from previous videos (particularly for newer viewers, there about 20000 new viewers since I first filmed in SLP). San Luis is the home to Costanzo Chocolates, Enchiladas Potosinas and Huastecas (awesome comida Mexicana - Mexican food!) and the gateway to other spectacular destinations in the state such as Huasteca Potosina, Xilitla, the Edward James Garden, Real de Catorce, and Cerro de San Pedro, all of which I have visited in the past! There are plenty of things to do and places to visit in SLP!

San Luis is absolutely a growing Mexico tourism destination in Mexico. It’s even becoming more popular with expats or those wishing to move to Mexico. In this video we check out a number of the awesome churches and cathedrals, eat Princesas (Costanzos), visit Parque Alameda and more!

Many ask whether Mexico is safe or dangerous and as a result, stick to Guanajuato or San Miguel de Allende. The fact is, SLP is just as beautiful and is absolutely a viable destination! Potosinos and Potosinas are probably some of the proudest people in Mexico and will always welcome you with open arms!
