This Journey will SURPRISE YOU! (Armenia-Georgia-Turkey) 🇦🇲🇬🇪🇹🇷

Travel Vlog Documentary. 🇦🇲🇬🇪🇹🇷 Join us on a thrilling 2,000-kilometer ROAD TRIP from Armenia/Georgia to Turkey, across the ex-Soviet Caucasus to Far East Anatolia.

It's an incredible road trip from Armenia to Türkiye, where 2 countries share a land border, but NO DIRECT ROAD (which takes us on a detour through Georgia)!

A captivating journey with unpredictable troubles along the way, including problems with contaminated diesel fuel and complex border crossings (emigrating from Armenia turns out to be more complicated than expected). Finding gas, shelter and food in remote areas of the Caucasus & Far East Turkey is another difficulty during our trip.

Our travel adventure starts in Yerevan, we navigate through the Caucasus, we pass through cities like Gyumri, we venture into remote areas, we pass through Georgia and we drive through Eastern & Central Anatolia (including a visit to the capital Ankara) with the goal of arriving at our final destination Düzce in the Black Sea region.

How will our roadtrip disaster end? Will we make it to our final destination in the Black Sea region? Will our car survive the dirty diesel?

Experience the ups and downs, the uncertainties, and the breathtaking views of the diverse beauty of Armenia, Georgia and Turkey right outside our car windows!

Thank you for watching!

Experience this unique country between East and West, between Russia and Europe, hardly known by anyone in Western countries, although Georgians proudly call themselves (first!) Europeans.

The Republic of Georgia is a country at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, bordering Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Turkey. It is a country full of surprises, where we encounter many traditions we have never seen before (such as Georgian bakers diving headfirst into the hot clay oven and Georgian dance), taste flavors that are unfamiliar to us (such as Churchkhela, Khinkali, and Khachapuri), and learn that Georgia is the cradle of wine and has one of the oldest living languages in the world!

We listen to what young and elderly people have to say, we delve into local markets, where the true essence of Georgian life unfolds before our eyes, we discover towns that transport us back to the days of the Soviet Union, like the mining town of Chiatura, we witness that Stalin is still worshipped (in Gori), we venture into remote and genuine villages like Oni and Ninotsminda, we uncover UNESCO gems (Kutaisi, Ananuri), we marvel at the beauty of the landscapes (Caucasian Mountains, canyons, alpine lakes, Black Sea), we drink healing waters (in Borjomi), we are intrigued by the UNESCO-listed cave city of Vardzia and admire the modernity of Batumi. And last but certainly not least, we immerse ourselves in the exceptional atmosphere of Tbilisi, the captivating capital city.

We become involved with the remnants of the Soviet era and hear the outcry of Georgia's tension-filled relationship with Russia. Since Russia's war on Ukraine, thousands of Russians have fled to this neighboring former Soviet country, causing resentment among Georgians who see Russia as a threat. Throughout history, powerful empires like Russia, Persia, the Ottoman Empire, and the Byzantine Empire have all left their mark, shaping Georgia's destiny and its unique personality!

Explore Georgia, a one-of-a-kind Eurasian country, witness the profound spirit of the Georgian people, who, much like Ukraine, have bravely confronted military conflicts and territorial disputes with Russia, fiercly fighting for freedom and a European identity.

Thank you for watching & commenting!

Why does NO ONE TALK ABOUT these parts of GEORGIA 🇬🇪? (JAVAKHETI PLATEAU)

The Javakheti Plateau is an often unexplored region of southern Georgia, where some tourism is just starting to develop. In today’s video, we go very far off the beaten path to some of southern Georgia’s less-touristed areas near the border with Armenia, including the Bugdasheni Nature Reserve, the Madatapa Lake, and the Beshtasheni Canyon. In each of these places, we questioned whether we were in the right place and found no one but animals, nature, and gentle breezes. We also make a trip to the Dashbashi Canyon, choosing to avoid the overcommercialized glass bridge to find a secret, free village-centered viewpoint of the magnificent canyon and waterfall! Join us on this calm and peaceful final episode in Georgia, and rewatch all of our Georgia episodes here:

Overlanding Georgia to Armenia // Another border crossing!

After a super windy night in Tbilisi we made it to the border of Armenia. We had a lesson in doing your homework politically before you cross a border, it’s not always just the stuff you hear on the news that you should be mindful of, but history and ongoing issues that may be lesser known.

Country number nine!

МОНАСТИР АЛАВЕРДИ в Грузії. Дрон | Alaverdi Monastery in Georgia | AnReal Travel

Hello everybody! During one of our tours to Georgia, we visited the incredible Alaverdi Monastery and shot it on a drone. The video is short, but with its help, you can see the whole territory of the cathedral and be inspired to visit it.

Alaverdi is a majestic 11th-century cathedral in the Kakheti region. Prior to the construction of the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Tbilisi, it was the country's tallest church. But it is outstanding not only because of its scale but also because for more than 10 centuries it has been one of the symbols of the unification of Georgia (since the XI century).

Among all of the monasteries and cathedrals of Georgia we saw, this place impressed us the most! How do you like it? Would you like to visit it?

Georgia to Armenia Border Crossing Adventure 🚷

In this video, I'll be sharing my experience crossing the border on foot from Georgia to Armenia.
I started off this video from the Tbilisi bus station, catching a bus all the way to the border, and spontaneously once arriving to the Georgian border, I decided to jump off the bus and continue on foot. I walked on the friendship bridge between Georgia & Armenia, giving a quick update away from all the camera, but once arriving to the Armenian border had to put my camera away. Once crossing the border and getting through to the other side and being officially in Armenia the journey begins to find an Armenian snack, afterwards looking to hitch a ride all the way to Alaverdi. But of course, the journey get spicey and needed to get multiple rides before making it to my final destination, Alaverdi. Once arriving to Alaverdi, I found a hotel and checked in where I ended the video with final thoughts and a review about the border crossing.

Georgia: Tbilisi to Vardzia via Samtskhe-Javakheti

Summary of our drive to Vardzia via the highlands of Samtskhe-Javakheti.

Outbound from Tbilisi we took the S6 highway in the direction of Marneuli. From Koda we followed the entire Sh31 to Ninotsminda via Tbisi and Tsalka along Paravani Lake, Georgia's largest lake, at 2073 m above sea level. From Ninotsminda we took the S11 to Akhalkalaki and Khertvisi. Through the Mtkvari Gorge we arrived at Vardzia.

A Hidden Gem - The Rabati fortress in Akhaltsikhe Georgia

If you get to come to Georgia after COVID19 pandemic you should definitely check out the Rabati fortress in Akhaltsikhe. Originally built in the 9th century but reconstructed and finished in 2012 This place is 45 minutes away from Borjomi and it has some really cool views and sites to check out.!

I'm in Tbilisi Georgia now. Check out the amazing apartment where I'm staying by the superhost Mziko!
