TRANSCRIPT:

Hey guys, this is Samantha and welcome to another Mytanfeet video. in this video We are going to do part 1 of day trips in Guanacaste and these are going to be the best day trips from Tamarindo, Playas del Coco or any of the neighboring beaches. We have a lot to share with you so let's go.

Number one on our list is Rio Celeste, the sky blue river inside Tenorio Volcano National Park. Rio Celeste is the perfect day trip for hiking and nature lovers, as you will be trekking through the lush rainforest to see the waterfall and sky blue river. The entire trail is around 6 kilometers or 3.5 miles and is a must see in Costa Rica.

The next best day trip in Guanacaste is Diamante Eco Adventure Park. This adventure park is excellent for families as they have an animal sanctuary with daily sloth feeding presentations, a traditional house for a cultural experience of chocolate, coffee and sugar cane and one of the most exciting ziplining tours in the country. Their 1.3 kilometer oceanview zipline is a must do in Costa Rica for adrenaline junkies. They also offer an excellent lunch buffet.

Next is one of our most highly recommended day trips from Playas del Coco or Tamarindo, Palo Verde National Park. The Palo Verde day trip consists of a safari boat tour down the Tempisque River to see wildlife such as iguanas, bats, monkeys, crocodiles and river birds. It doesn't require any strenuous activity so Palo Verde is the perfect day trip in Guanacaste for those who are visiting with seniors or young kids as you will be riding a covered motorized riverboat and it takes about half a day so you can be back at your hotel by mid afternoon. Palo Verde offers a highly interesting and educational wildlife watching experience for all visitors.

The next day trip in Guanacaste is for the surfers, a surf trip to Witch's Rock. There are a ton of surfing beaches in Guanacaste including Tamarindo but for those looking for the ultimate surf experience, a Witch's Rock surf trip is a must. You'll boat about an hour from Playas del Coco to the iconic surf spot inside Santa Rosa National Park and on heavy days with a swell, waves can get up to 6 feet or more, ideal for those dreaming of getting barrelled in Costa Rica. On normal days, waves are absolutely perfect for longboarding and shortboarding, with long, open and glassy A-frame waves.

The last day trip in this video is the La Leona waterfall hike. This waterfall hike is only 30 minutes from Liberia and you'll be hiking in the tropical dry forest, swimming in a beautiful blue river and climbing through caves and canyons to get to a hidden cave waterfall. The La Leona waterfall hike is definitely for those looking for a memorable outdoor activity and after the fun hike, you can relax in their natural blue river pools.

I hope you guys enjoyed the video and if you're interested in any of these activities, we have links to our posts in the description below for more details and you can contact us if you want to book any of these tours. Thanks for watching and we'll see you in the next one.

Naranjo river, Costa Rica - White Watar Rafting

In 2016 we went white water rafting on the Naranjo river in Costa Rica. We did our tour through Costa Rica Tropical
Adventures. The guides were terrific.

We were only on the river for about an hour
and half but it was a thrilling ride none the less.
As this river was surprising close to our hotel in
Antonio Manuel, it made for a great half day
adventure.

We recommend this small business.

Visiting a place like this gives you a little taste of the rich culture of the Costa Rican people, the hard working ticos and ticas where tradition and passion is part of their daily work routine. And their creative artistic expression is revealed through the intricate designs and colors of their work and craft.

Fabrica Carretas Eloy Alfaro-

This where the magic of these colorful oxcart comes to life. It’s has been running since 1923. They’ve maintained the completely traditional methods of fabricating the oxcarts and till this day use a water mill to power all the heavy equipment of the factory. Truly a unique place that’s perfect for kids and families, it’s almost like being transported to the past. You can pay to have an official guided tour or you can simply walk around and look around for yourself for free. They literally have EVERYTHING you can buy for souvenirs. You can even buy an authentic handmade and painted oxcart, although it might cost you between 300-600 dollars.

Zarcero is a great stop along the way if you’re head to Bajos del Toro or La Fortuna
Before we went exploring we had lunch at Miranda’s Restaurant, they have decently priced delicious food and refreshing natural fruit drinks.

Quick tip: There’s a perfectly good parking area on the Left side of the church, they have a small post where you can leave a donation to the church for the parking.
Just like Sarchi, Zarcero has its art but in the form of its Topiary. The work of 82 year old, Don Evangelista, is truly impressive. He’s been working on his art here for over 50 years. And the highlight is honestly the arches that cover the entire courtyard. It’s like the Costa Rican version garden maze of Alice in Wonderland.

While you’re here don’t forget to go into the church. The stained glass, the arches, the painted ceilings, out of all the churches we got to see, this was by far my favorite.
