Ep 6 Udaipur to Kumbhalgarh | Nathdwara | Haldighati | Eklingji Temple | Rajasthan Tourism
After exploring Udaipur city for three days we started for Kumbhalgarh. Route that we followed was ;Ekling ji then Sahastra bahu temple, followed by Shree Nathdwara then we went to Haldighati and finally reached Kumbhalgarh in the night.
Date of this journey: 30th Aug 2022.
We hired a taxi from Udaipur for this journey drive name Bhanu , contact number +91 82097 66315
We paid Rs 5000 per day for the vehicle - Innova.
Below is the brief description of activities we did during this day.
Eklingji Temple - It is an ancient temple located 20 km from Udaipur, dedicated to Lord shiva.
Sastra Bahu Temple - 11th Century temple’s architecture is so beautiful, There is no Deity in the temple, located at distance of 2 km from Ekling ji.
Shri Nathdwara Temple - Check out darshan timings before you visit this place, so you can plan your visit time to this famous temple of Lord Krishna.
Swasthik alpahar - We had breakfast from a nearby temple - Rs 25 for 100 gms Moong dal vada.
Purushottam Bhai Dudh Jalebi Vala - This is a 120 year old shop, serving several sweets, we had Rabdi Malpua, Hot Milk - 30 per glass, Jalebi - Rs 20 for 50 gms.
Chetak Restaurant - This restaurant is adjacent to Haldighati Museum, we had rajasthani thali - Rs 210 limited quantity thali.
Haldighati Museum - Ticket - Rs 120 per person. You will get to see learn about what happened during the Haldighati war and some key information about Maharana Pratap life.
Maharana Pratap memorial - 10 min walking distance from the museum, located on hill top.
Chetak Samadhi - memorial built in memory of Chetak famous horse of Maharana Pratap.
Haldighati Darra - This is basically the ghat section, Where maharana pratap army restricted the mughals army to go forward.
Rakt Talai - This is where the actual Battle of Haldighati was fought.

This one is all about Nathdwara and we summarise what you can do if you decide to come and these recommendations comes from years of visiting this place along with some post-pandemic tips. So here are the things we did this time and you should do too:
• ALWAYS WEAR MASKS WHENEVER OUTSIDE.
• VISIT THE SHREENATHJI TEMPLE: The highlight of this place! Although there maybe multiple darshans to do and you can go for all of them, we highly recommend going atleast once. It can get pretty crowded here so do double-mask up and go towards the end of the time slot for the darshan to avoid huge crowds. Phones are not allowed here, so better leave them at your room. Also, you need to carry a printout of proof of atleast one dose of vaccination or a negative RT-PCR test within 72 hours to enter the temple (these are the rules at the time of writing this). They are really strict about this, so don't forget to carry that! The temple has a unique vibe, so don't miss it out!
• STAY: While you may not find the most luxurious properties here, these hotels have their own style and vibe just like our stay at Hotel Vrinda.
• TAKE A ROUND IN THE MARKET: Whether you're looking for small idols, unique frames of Shreenathji and toys and decorations for your home temple or you're looking for great dresses, sarees, materials, accessories at a very affordable price, the market has it all! They also offer a variety of good quality spices, saufs, natural stones (like black salt rocks, multani mitti) etc. as well which we can assure you are fresh and natural from our experience. Some of these shops open as early as 6 AM and are open all the way till 10:30-11 PM! There's something for everyone here, so don't miss that! And keep some empty space in your bags as well! 😛
• FOOD YOU WON'T FIND ELSEWHERE: This place has it's special dishes which you may have not tried and even if you have, it wouldn't have been this delicious. Chowpatty and Tea Stalls are one of the best places to enjoy the dishes we mentioned have mentioned in this video. Although if you're going for the early morning darshan at the temple at around 6 AM, we recommend going for the tea stalls that offer snacks like fafda, dhokla and poha as they're just too delicious! Also, a surprise for us was the Kulad Cafe by Hotel Vrinda which offered various cuisines. The pizzas and sandwiches we had there were something we really liked and you may not find such dishes elsewhere in the entirety of Nathdwara! The food places can also open as early as 6 AM and close by around 10:30 PM although you should ask around as they have intermittent opening timings.
And so, that's all we got about this place! There are a few things opening up, like the 351 feet tall statue of Lord Shiva but that we will cover in our future content! If you have any further questions, you can feel free to ask us in the comments. Nathdwara is an experience in itself, so we highly recommend you visit here atleast once and see all of this for yourself!

It is not possible to have an impromptu trip to a temple without the higher calling. By the grace of Shrinathji, my family and i just wished to visit Nathdwara and left within the hour.
