Fairly large town for this part of Myanmar between Mawlamyine and Thanbyuzayat. It's large enough that you would think there would be a guesthouse that could take foreigners but at this time I don't think that is the case.

Hsinbyume Pagoda Mingun – The Famous Mandalay White Temple - Myanmar 2023
The Hsinbyume Pagoda ဆင်ဖြူမယ်စေတီ also known as Myatheindan Pagoda မြသိန်းတန်စေတီ is a large pagoda on the northern side of Mingun in Myanmar on the western bank of the Irrawaddy River. It is approximately 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) northwest of Mandalay and is located in the proximity of the Mingun Pahtodawgyi. The pagoda is painted white and is modelled on the physical description of the Buddhist sacred mountain Mount Meru.
The pagoda was built in 1816 by Bagyidaw. It is dedicated to the memory of his first consort and cousin, Princess Hsinbyume (ဆင်ဖြူမယ် Princess White Elephant, 1789–1812) who died during childbirth nearby.
The pagoda's design is a great departure from Burmese pagoda design norms. It is based on descriptions of the mythical Sulamani pagoda on Mount Meru, and the lower parts of the pagoda represent the mountains. Seven concentric terraces represent the seven mountain ranges going up to the Mount Meru according to Buddhist mythology.
The pagoda was badly damaged by an earthquake in 1838 and was restored by King Mindon in 1874.
It’s known as the Taj Mahal of Myanmar. The design and history of it is very interesting. It is defiantly worth the time to come and spend an hour or so at this temple.

MAWLAMYINE: A Trip Without Going Anywhere 🧳 (GALAXY S10+ Video)
Last 2days ago I've been to Mawlamyine for 2nd time. But I didn't have a chance to go around. I have only been to nearby places around my hotel. Although I didn't have a plan to make videos during this trip, I took some timelapse and other shots.
The entire video is shot on Mobile Phone (Galaxy s10+📱). This time I didn't use any extra accessories like gimbal etc because my gimbal is broken down. But I use only Tripod which is really useful for timelapse. Please have a look. 🖥

Myanmar (Burma) - Bago to Yangon
Coach trips have never been my favourite form of travel but this one was different. Accompanied by my wife and son and a whole contingent of Thai family and friends we flew to Yangon in Myanmar (Burma) for a 2 night adventure.
It was amazing what we were able to see and do in such a short space of time.
The second day's adventure began with a trip to the Kya Khat Waing Monastery in Bago province, where we watched several hundred monks take their morning meal and receive donations from the hordes of (mainly Thai) tourists.
Then we headed to the nearby Kyaik Pun Pagoda to see the four faced Buddha statue, before setting off for Yangon. In downtown Yangon we visited the old Bogyoke Aung San Market (aka the Scott Market) and the gleaming new Junction City shopping mall just across the road.
Then it was off to the amazing Shwedagon Pagoda, where thousands of pilgrims walk around the shrines and make merit. It was a magical experience being there as the sun went down and the lights came on.
The final day of the trip was a busy one. We began the day by visiting the enormous reclining Buddha at the Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda. This temple is basically just an enormous shed to protect the 65 metre long statue, famed for its beautiful expressive face.
Next stop was the Botahtaung Pagoda down by the river. This place has become a mecca for Thai tourists, who flock there to touch their heads against the finger of guardian spirit Bo Bo Gyi's hand and make a wish.
The final stop of the trip was the Kyauktan Yele Pagoda - a temple built on an island in Hmaw Wun Creek, a tributary of Yangon River. Accessed by long tail boat, this was a beautiful and fascinating place and a fitting finale to a very interesting adventure.
This video was shot on a GoPro Hero7 Black and features the 1991 song Hoomba Hoomba by Voice of Africa as its soundtrack.
