A renowned landmark of Kuwait, recently renovated, it is best to catch a view of Kuwait city from here, especially at night-time. The main tower has both a viewing platform and a restaurant, from where you can have an overview of the entire country, or at least the inhabited parts of it. You could also plan a dinner at the top of the Kuwait Towers.
The Scientific Centre.
The Scientific Centre of Kuwait is a gift from Late Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to the people of Kuwait. The Scientific Centre aims to improve the sciences and cultural heritage of Kuwait. The main attractions here are the IMAX theatre (screens 3D films including blockbusters on a giant screen), The Aquarium and the Discovery Place.

More than 30000 items collected over a period of more than 50 years are displayed in this private museum belonging to Tareq Sayed Rajab and his English wife. You can find several interesting collections of artifacts from all over the Islamic world, Asia, and the Far East. The museum located in the residential area of Jabriya is worth a visit.
Kuwait National Museum.
It is the National Museum of Kuwait. This simple museum is worth a visit, as it holds within its walls a lot of history and insights on how Kuwait was in the early days and the present. It is a must-visit for first-time travelers. The entry to the National Museum is free. The modern Planetarium forms a part of the museum complex with shows at around 18:00 daily. The museum has heritage and archaeology exhibits and a dhow sailing boat.
House of Mirrors.
The House of Mirrors is a landmark in Kuwait, and just as its name suggests is almost totally covered by mirror mosaics. It is the only place in the world to be covered by mirror mosaics. Each room in the house has a story to tell, starting from the representation of mother earth and ending with true marks of Kuwait history. The Italian artist Lidia, together with her late Kuwaiti husband, turned their private residence into an art museum centered around mirrors.
The Avenues.
The Avenues is the biggest and best mall in Kuwait, without a doubt. The huge mall has all major brands and restaurant chains, and you can shop till you drop dead. There are coffee bars and kids play areas too. The mall is very well planned and built and suits most budgets. However, when visiting on weekends, parking may be a little difficult.
Souk Al-Mubarakiya.
Located amidst Mubarak al-Kabir, Ahmad al-Jaber & Ali Al-Salem streets, the Souk Al-Mubarakiya, the shopping area, shows how the old Arabian market looks like. The whole area has been restored and divided into rows of shops, with each row of a shop displaying their speciality like spices, desserts, vegetables, fish market square, and butcher’s square. You can also purchase clothing and souvenirs from the market.
The 360 Mall.
The 360 mall is a large luxury shopping mall in the Al Zahra area, with some branded stores like The Geant Market, Marks & Spencer, Toys R Us, and several other departmental stores and supermarkets. It has everything a person needs, including electronics and decent pricing. The decor of the mall is elegant too. It is the third biggest mall in Kuwait
Boating.
You can also plan a boat trip across the beautiful Kuwait Bay. Kuwait is home to various boating clubs with marinas. These clubs host boating activities, races, and other types of recreational boating excursions. There are reefs that lie off-shores of Kuwait which are home to all sorts of marine life. Water taxis run regularly and boat trips to Failaka Islands and other locations are organized by several touristic enterprises and organizations. MUBARAKIYA -SOUQ AL KABEER - KUWAIT-TRAVEL VLOG
This popular traditional market is located in Kuwait City, between Abdullah Al-Mubarak, Abdullah Al-Salem & Palestine Streets. This market has been around for at least 200 years. The market was damaged during the Iraqi invasion in 1990, however it was renovated and it got back its traditional flavor.
You can spend hours in this market strolling around and discovering reasonable bargains on heritage goods such as Persian silk carpets, real Arab antiques, perfumes like musk and oud, and traditional costumes. This place is perfect whether you want to shop, eat, or for sightseeing. Al-Mubarakiya features a variety of shops such as dates, honey, spices, sweets, vegetables, fruits, meat, and fish. In addition to a range of shops accessories, gold and silver jewelries. The market also hosts two small museums: Sheikh Mubarak Kiosk and the first pharmacy in Kuwait, and admission is free.
There is a courtyard near Masjid Al-Bahar (Sea Mosque), where you can find traditional cafes brewing their teas over coals, and several small restaurants are lined-up where they serve authentic Arab and Persian food to the customers in the open air. The prices are the cheapest in Kuwait. On hot summer days, water mist is sprayed from pipes over the tables to give you a cooling feeling. A children playground is nearby and shisha is also available

Kuwait's Grand Mosque, or Al-Masjid Al-Kabir, is a breathtaking site. It is a traditional Islamic architecture with Moroccan tiles, ceramics and a courtyard with stone brought from India. At night it looks especially impressive as it is brightly illuminated.
The Grand Mosque is the largest and the official mosque in the country of Kuwait. Its area spans 45,000 square metres, out of which the building itself covers 20,000 square metres. The main prayer hall is 72 metres wide on all sides, has teakwood doors, and has lighting provided by 144 windows.
Located in the heart of the city, the Grand Mosque is the biggest and the official Mosque of Kuwait which means that official religious celebrations are held in this mosque only. Locals refer to this Mosque as ‘Al-Masjid Al-Kabir’.
The Grand mosque is internationally renowned for its Islamic architecture and it has become one of Kuwait's most treasured landmarks. Indeed, the builders and designers have put a lot of effort in creating this mosque starting the project way back in 1979 and finally completing it seven years later in 1986 at a cost of about Kuwait Dinar 14 million. Grand Mosque is popular for its prayer arrangement during the last 10 days of Ramadan. Thousands of Muslims gather during last 10 days of Ramadan.
Situated opposite the Stock Exchange and Al Seif Palace, this beige tinted mosque does not seem to be as magnificent from the outside as it does from the inside. Visitors and tourists can visit the mosque every week day morning at 9:00 am and can have a guided tour free of charge. This is well worth doing as tourists will find out many facts and figures about the building as well as about the Islamic way of life apart from their opportunity to ask lots of questions. Tourists may also borrow head scarf and an ‘abaya’ if they do not have one. Long loose clothing is recommended. The colour scheme is blue and beige- taken from the colors of the surroundings, which is very pleasant and soothing to the eye (particularly for those night prayers).
The main prayer hall is in fact the largest hall with 4 columns and with its floor space it can house nearly 10,000 men. It is elegant with natural light creeping in and also magnificent chandeliers hanging from the roof (each weighing the same as a car). Construction was completed in 1986; the number of worshippers has been rising each year with nearly 200000 men and women praying together one night during Ramadan in 2011. The multi level car park was altered into prayer halls, to provide accommodation for this number, made spotlessly clean, carpeted and air conditioned for this reason.

The Burj Khalifa in Dubai, currently the world's tallest building, by more than 150 metres. The 234-floor Burj Mubarak Al-Kabir will soar more than 1km into the air, and is designed to withstand winds of up to 150 mph. The height of 1001 metres is no coincidence but an intentional tribute to the all-time famous folk tales of 'One Thousand and One Nights', a legendary collection of stories set in the Gulf and elsewhere in the Middle East. Burj Mubarak Al-Kabir, named after a region in Kuwait, could house 7,000 people, along with offices, hotels, shops, and an observation point, according to reports.
Though it will be taller than the 828-metre-high Burj Khalifa, the Burj Mubarak Al-Kabir may not be the tallest tower in the world once completed, as a tower currently under construction in neighbouring Saudi Arabia is also expected to stand over 1km tall.
The Kuwaiti tower will be the piece de resistance of the Madinat Al-Hareer (Silk City) project, which will see an empty stretch of land transformed into a sprawling purpose-built city as part of China's Belt and Road Initiative.
The megacity, expected to cost $132 billion, will feature power plants, a giant port, hospitals, entertainment facilities, and a causeway linking it to the capital Kuwait City, forming a key part of the Gulf state's Vision 2035 project.

Madinat al-Hareer (Arabic: مدينة الحرير, meaning City of Silk), is a proposed 250 square kilometer planned urban area in Subiya, Kuwait, an area just opposite Kuwait City which, upon construction, would include the Burj Mubarak al-Kabir , the world's tallest structure, a natural desert reservation of 2 square kilometres, a duty free area which will be beside a new airport, in addition to a large business center, conference areas, environmental areas, athletic areas, and areas that concentrate on media, health, education, and industry. The City of Silk will also include numerous tourist attractions, hotels, spas, and public gardens. As of this time, it is unclear as to the scope of this project, if it has received any approvals, or if it has the required funding; however, the city will be built in individual phases with total completion within twenty-five years. The development will cost an estimated 25 billion Kuwaiti Dinars (86.1 billion USD). Burj Mubarak al-Kabir should not be confused with the Al Jaber Tower proposed by the famous Italian architect Amero Marchetti, part of the planned ethic city. If built the Al Jaber Tower would reach 1852 meters.

The dome of the mosque is 26 metres (85 ft) in diameter and 43 metres (141 ft) high, and is decorated with the Asma al-hosna, the 99 names of God. The mosque can accommodate up to 10,000 men in the main prayer hall, and up to 950 women in the separate hall for women.
Kuwait, an Arab country on the Persian (Arabian) Gulf, has cultural heritage dating back to antiquity. Historically, Kuwait was a strategic trade port between Mesopotamia, Persia and India. Oil reserves were discovered in commercial quantities in 1938. In 1946, crude oil was exported for the first time. From 1946 to 1982, the country underwent large-scale modernization, largely based on income from oil production. In the 1980s, Kuwait experienced a period of geopolitical instability and an economic crisis following the stock market crash. In 1990, Kuwait was invaded, and later annexed into one of Iraq's governorates by Iraq under Saddam Hussein. The Iraqi occupation of Kuwait came to an end in 1991 after military intervention by a military coalition led by the United States and various other countries.

Kuwait is the fifth richest country in the world by gross national income per capita. In 2009, Kuwait had the highest Human Development Index in the Arab world.
Kuwait has the largest number of stateless people in the entire region. Kuwait is a founding member of the GCC and a major non-NATO ally to the United States. Kuwait also has strong economic ties to China and ASEAN. In 2020, the Kuwaiti government experienced its first fiscal deficit since 1995. Under the Belt and Road Initiative, Kuwait and China have many important cooperation projects including South al-Mutlaa and Mubarak Al Kabeer Port. Kuwait currently has the largest US military presence in the Middle East Kuwait follows the civil law system modeled after the French legal system, Kuwait's legal system is largely secular. Sharia law governs only family law for Muslim residents,] while non-Muslims in Kuwait have a secular family law. According to the United Nations, Kuwait's legal system is a mix of English common law, French civil law, Egyptian civil law and Islamic law.

Kuwait is divided into six governorates: Al Asimah Governorate (or Capital Governorate); Hawalli Governorate; Farwaniya Governorate; Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate; Ahmadi Governorate; and Jahra Governorate. Article 4 of the Kuwait constitution stipulates that Kuwait is a hereditary emirate whose emir must be an heir of Mubarak Al-Sabah.] Mubarak had four sons, but an informal pattern of alternation between the descendants of his sons Jabir and Salem emerged since his death in 1915. Sin embargo, tras la guerra entre Kuwait y el sultanato de Najd en 1919 y 1920, Abdelaziz bin Saud, primer rey de Arabia Saudita, ordenó un nuevo y restrictivo bloqueo comercial a Kuwait que duró desde 1923 hasta 1937.13 En este último año se descubrieron los primeros pozos de petróleo en territorio kuwaití.
Kuwait ganó su independencia del Reino Unido en 1961. En 1990 el pequeño país fue invadido militarmente y anexionado por el Irak de Saddam Hussein, una ocupación que se prolongó durante siete meses y que provocó la intervención del ejército de los Estados Unidos y el estallido de la guerra del Golfo. El ejército iraquí se retiró del país ante al avance estadounidense pero en su camino incendió casi ochocientos pozos petrolíferos kuwaitíes, una catástrofe económica y medioambiental.14 Las infraestructuras del país quedaron devastadas durante el conflicto y tuvieron que ser reconstruidas.15 En 2003 el ejército estadounidense regresó al país para lanzar desde allí las operaciones militares de la invasión de Irak.
Kuwait es una monarquía constitucional con un sistema de gobierno parlamentario16 y su capital económica y política es la ciudad de Kuwait. El país es considerado uno de los más liberales de la región.17 Cuenta con la quinta mayor reserva mundial de petróleo, un recurso natural que en la actualidad supone el 87 % de sus exportaciones y el 75 % de los ingresos de su gobierno,18 gracias a lo cual sus ciudadanos gozan de la octava mayor renta per cápita a nivel mundial.19 El Banco Mundial clasifica a Kuwait como un Estado de altos ingresos y los Estados Unidos lo han designado aliado importante extra-OTAN map of Kuwait Kuwait está dividida en 6 provincias (árabe: muħafazat, singular - muħafadhah).

Las mayores ciudades son la capital Kuwait y Yahra (a unos 30 minutos en coche al noroeste de la capital). Las principales áreas residenciales y administrativas son Salmiya y Hawalli. La principal área industrial es Shuwaikh, que se encuentra dentro de la provincia de Al Asimah.

Kuwait está formado principalmente por desiertos, con pequeñas diferencias de altitud. Es el único país del mundo sin lagos o reservas de agua naturales.
Posee nueve islas, siendo la mayor Bubiyan, que está unida al continente por un puente de cemento. Tras la liberación en 1991, la isla se convirtió en una base militar y actualmente no se permite la entrada de civiles. Las islas son Auhah, Bubiyan, Failaka, Kubbar, Miskan, Qaruh, Umm al Maradim, Umm an Namil y Warbah. Kuwait es una economía pequeña, rica y relativamente abierta, con reservas de crudo seguras de 94 000 millones de barriles (15 km³) -10% de las reservas mundiales-, donde el petróleo representa casi la mitad del PIB, un 90% de las exportaciones y un 75% de los ingresos del gobierno. Sin embargo, en 1990 el país ganó más dinero de las inversiones extranjeras que de la exportación de petróleo.
Los gastos generados por la invasión de Irak y la reconstrucción de la posguerra fueron una carga económica importante para el país. Sin embargo, hacia mitad de los años 1990 Kuwait había recuperado su prosperidad.

Los precios del petróleo han producido un superávit de 1,7 miles de millones de € (2000 millones de $) para el año fiscal 99/00. El año fiscal 00/01 solo tuvo 9 meses por una modificación en el año fiscal. El presupuesto para el año fiscal 01/02 preveía mayores gastos en salarios, construcción y otras categorías. El PNB en el 2003 era de 4,6 miles de millones de € (41.7 miles de millones de $)
