Then the northwest part of the district was split off to create Kwahu East District on 29 February 2008; thus the remaining part has been still retained as Kwahu South District. The district assembly is located in the western part of Eastern Region and has Mpraeso as its capital town.

A 4k video drive tour of Nkawkaw town in the Kwahu West Municipal, Eastern Region of Ghana.
From the N6 Accra Kumasi road, we branched right at the Bread sellers junction onto the Nkawkaw High street ,passing infront of the Philico strores, Nkawkaw Kenop Care Hospital, Obuoba Distilleries Limited, Gospel City International Church, Nkawkaw New Station, Methodist Church and schools, Opportunity International Savings and Loan Limited.
Driving on the Nkawkaw Atibie Mpraeso road, we passed infront of the Absa Branch Nkawkaw, Christian International School and the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses building.
Making a u turn from the Kwahu Mountains, we drove all the way to the Nkwakaw High street passing infront of the Nkawkaw central Market, Nkawkaw Police Station, Ghana Post Nkawkaw, Nkawkaw Total Energy gas stations, International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), SSNIT Nkwakaw, Ghana Water Company Nkawkaw, Ghana Revenue Authority, Obuoba Village Restaurant and Event Center and passing Amanfrom, Kwamang and Awenade towns onto the Nkawkaw Bypass at Asona where we concluded the journey.
Nkawkaw is a town in southern Ghana and is the capital of Kwahu East District, an area in the Eastern Region of south Ghana. Nkawkaw has a 2013 settlement population of 61,785 people.
Nkawkaw is also described as a city in a valley as it the gateway to ascend the Kwahu mountains.

Mpraeso is a town and the capital of Kwahu South district, a district in the Eastern Region of Ghana, located at an altitude of 367 m on the Kwahu Plateau, which forms the south-west boundary of Lake Volta. Mpraeso has a 2013 settlement population of 11,190 people.
Mpraeso is famous for manufacturing pottery, particularly for its grinding bowls: shallow dishes with strong, inverted rims and ridges on the interior used to grind vegetables using a small wooden pestle.

A 4K UHD drive from Dadieso in the Asante Akim South Municipal to Asona in the Kwahu West Municipal through Fodoa, Kwahu Hwidiem, Kwahu Akwaboah and Kwahu Danteng in the Eastern Region of Ghana in a mercedes c class.
From Dadieso, we drove to Fodoa town, headed to Kwahu Hwidiem , Akwaboah ,Kwahu Danteng and Asona towns on the N6 Kumasi Accra road seeing the Kwahu Mountains ( kwahu bepo ) from a distance.
The N6 Kumasi Accra is the busiest road in Ghana and care should be taken when driving on such roads.
Asante Akim South Municipal District is one of the forty-three districts in Ashanti Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 as Asante Akim South District, which it was created from the former Asante Akim District Council. Later it was elevated to municipal district assembly status on 15 March 2018. The municipality is located in the eastern part of Ashanti Region and has Juaso as its capital town.
Kwahu West Municipal District is one of the thirty-three districts in Eastern Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Kwahu South District in 1988, which was created from the former Kwahu District Council, until the southwest part of the district was split off to create Kwahu West District in August 2004; which it later was elevated to municipal district assembly status on 1 July 2007 (effectively 29 February 2008) to become Kwahu West Municipal District.
The Kwahu West municipality is located in the western part of Eastern Region and has Nkawkaw as its capital town.

Today, I visit kwahu mountains in the eastern region of Ghana.
The weather here is mostly foggy in the morning and cool in the afternoon.
I love the view of the mountains and all the greens.
My tour starts at the Twenedurase Nkofieho Mystical Cave.
Kwahu lies in the Eastern Region of Ghana, on the west shore of Lake Volta.
The region is shared with their fellow Akans: the Akyem and Akuapem, as well as the Adangbe-Krobos.
Our tour guide narrated the rich history of the Twenedurase caves located in the kwahu Mountains.
The ‘Nkofieho’ caves of life was a sacred protectorate for ancient warriors who migrated from the Asante Kingdom to save themselves from total extinction due to the many wars being waged by the Asante kings.
The caves have unique exhibits that show the wonders of nature and myth has it that they used to serve as a hideout for indigenes of the area during old ages.

Drive Through Asakraka Town in the Kwahu-South District
Asakraka, with a population of about 5000, is one of the major towns in the Kwahu-South District and is about 6km from Mpraeso, the district capital. Located between Bepong and Kwahu Tafo on the main Mpraeso-Afram Plains road, Asakraka is the home of St Paul's Secondary School and has the second highest inhabited point in Kwahu (second to Abetifi).

The Ghana Tourism Authority will commission a new tourist attraction site at Kwahu Abetifi called the Abetifi Stone Age Park during this year’s Kwahu Easter Paragliding Festival in April.
The Abetifi Stone Age Park was discovered by the archaeological department of the University of Ghana after conducting a successful excavation at the site.
According to them, the cave has been in existence for more than twelve thousand years and with the help of a private investor 17 statues have been carved in the cave to depict life in the stone age.

From the SSNIT Fiapre road infront of the BNI office , we drove and passed infront of the Providence Lodge, Bosomtwi Hospital , made a right turn facing the SSNIT flats and headed towards Atta Kwabena road.
Driving on the Atta Kwabena road to the N12 Little Wood Avenue, we passed infront of the Regionl Mofa office, The Youth Employment agency, the Catering Rest House, the Sunyani public library at Nkwabeng, south to the roundaobout passing infront of the old Cocobod warehouses, the TUC building, the Municipal Education office, the Geological Department and the Presbyterian church of Ghana Ebenezer Congregation.
Continuing on the N12 Little Wood Avenue, we drove to Municipal Police station, made a right turn to the Municipal Hospital , where we did the drive tour.
Sunyani Municipal Hospital is a hospital in Ghana. Sunyani Municipal Hospital is situated nearby to Sunyani Municipal Police Station and Parks And Gardens.
The Sunyani Municipal Hospital has the Outpatients Department, opd, ChiLd weighing and care, Family Planning, Emergency ward, Maternity ward, ScAN Center, Mortuary, Disease Control, Birth and Death Registry and the Pharmacy.
Sunyani Municipal District is one of the twelve districts in Bono Region, Ghana.
The Sunyani municipality is located in the western part of Bono Region and has Sunyani as its capital town.
