A day trip to Mount Disappointment. Was it disappointing? Watch till the end to find out.
In 1824, explorers Hume and Hovell named Mt Disappointment. This was due to their disappointment in discovering that Port Phillip Bay could not be viewed from the summit due to dense tree growth.Today, Mt Disappointment State Forest provides a beautiful haven for wildlife, visitors, and associated recreation activities. With its many accessible camping areas, it provides opportunities to enjoy bushwalking, horse riding, four-wheel driving, and trail bike riding.Popular camping spots include Regular Camp, Andersons Garden and No. 1 Camp. Most visitor and camping areas have picnic tables, fireplaces, and toilets.Main Mountain Road caters for trail bike visitors with information about riding in the area, and plenty of parking for [trailers.Be]( sure to take a walk to view the stunning Strath Creek Falls, this popular walk leads to spectacular views of the falls cascading over the rock face and into the gully.Other worthwhile activities include the Summit Walk, Sunday Creek Reservoir Walk, and the Mount Disappointment Forest Drive which takes in many of the popular sights in a three hour return circuit

A DAY IN DANDENONG RANGES 🇦🇺 + DRIVE SCENIC LOOKOUTS #InDaynaMo
A DAY IN DANDENONG RANGES AU + DRIVE SCENIC LOOKOUTS #InDaynaMo
Hi Guys, Mabuhay! Jacks and I Drove in Dandenong Ranges here in Victoria and we want to share some scenery lookout view from above
SILVAN DAM LOOKOUT - Landscaped park overlooking the reservoir with picnic/BBQ areas, open lawns & eucalyptus forest.
BURKES LOOKOUT - Popular sunset vista point offering panoramas of the Melbourne area & nearby walking tracks.
WOOLRICH LOOKOUT - Woolrich Lookout is one of the most fascinating viewing spots located in the Dandenong Ranges. This lookout is tucked away in the RJ Hamer Arboretum and offers incredible views of the Dandenong Ranges National Park in the distance.
This lookout point is a hidden gem, and obviously one of the region’s best-kept secrets. From here, you can enjoy panoramic views that cover the expanse of the Dandenong Ranges right through to the imposing Yarra Valley and the iconic Great Dividing Range.
Perhaps the best thing about it is that it is located just an hour’s drive from Melbourne, making it easily accessible for a day trip.
SASSAFRAS - Located in the outer-eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Sassafras is a popular weekend destination for both local and out of town visitors. Being a close picturesque town to the Melbourne CBD, Sassafras is an easily accessible holiday destination.
Even today, the town boasts its original charm, with no effect of the city’s busy life. Known for its unique cafes, restaurants, tea rooms and scenic locations, Sassafras welcomes visitors to come and explore the town and its neighbourhoods.
The town boasts a number of restaurants, tea rooms, coffee shops and specialty shops adjacent to the town’s most scenic attractions.
Sassafras is popular for its unique tea rooms, where you can taste and buy a variety of tea and also enjoy delectable meals at the on-site restaurants.

MT EVELYN AQUEDUCT TRAIL
Filmed Feb 21 2012. The Trail follows the open section of the disused Mt Evelyn Aqueduct, a 4 km return hike starting at Hunter Rd, off the Monbulk Rd. The Aqueduct was decommissioned in 1972.
Kalorama Park & Walking Track
Kalorama Park is off Barbers Road, just below the lookout at 5 Ways, Kalorama. The park has tables and BBQ's plus a rotunda to sit under and enjoy the views across towards the Hamer Arboretum.
The walk is easy enough and can be a return to the Jeeves Road end or take the lower track, clamber over some fallen trees and come out below the park. Find more info and location details on explorethedandenongs.com.au/kalorama-park
