Mt Barker to Adelaide via Eastern Busway along Bullock Track to alleviate congestion on S.E. Freeway
The video investigates if the lower section of “The Bullock Track” could be turned into a guided and grade separated busway. This would help divert traffic away from the congestion that is now occurring on the S.E. Freeway. The large amount of new housing in Mt Barker has made public transport between Mt Barker and the Adelaide CBD a major issue in 2021. Early colonialist used teams of Bullocks to move bulky item between Mt Baker and Adelaide down a ridge from Mt Lofty to the Adelaide around Beaumont and Glen Osmond. The path they used was named The Bullock Track. Upper part of The Bullock Track on the escarpment was turned into tarmac and named the Mt Baker Road.

Why is Mt Barker called Mt Barker?
Sturt renamed the mountain in honour of Captain Barker who was killed by Aborigines while exploring near the mouth of the River Murray later that year.
How big is Mt Barker?
Mount Barker, town, south-western Western Australia, lying at the base of 1,890-foot (576-metre) Mount Barker. It is located in the state's southern region, about 35 miles (56 km) north of Albany. The mountain was sighted in 1829 and named after Captain Collett Barker, the last military commandant at Albany.
On this road you can find Jones Radiology (formerly Dr Jones & Partners Medical Imaging) is proud to be a doctor owned and operated practice offering the highest quality diagnostic and interventional radiology services throughout South Australia.
Mount Barker Summit, South Australia
The Mount Barker Summit provides a ‘grandstand’ view from where you’ll enjoy panoramic vistas of the surrounding area from Mount Lofty to the north west, Mount Barker Township and the Cream Bowl to the west, lakes and Coorong to the south and the Bremer Valley to the east. There are walking trails, both long and short, to experience at the Summit.
Borrowed from:
This was our family's first visit to the summit, and we decided to cycle up there on our e-bikes with the kids in the trailer. It wasn't too hard riding up the hill, but the slippery gravel of the access track made it too hazardous to ride down. We had to walk the bikes down instead.

Day 1: A Week Roundtrip Adelaide to Uluru (Mt. Barker - Pt Wakefield - Pt Augusta - Kootabera)
Masih ingat Maria?? Yep, she's my WHV friend that has been appeared on some of my videos:
VIC-NSW Roadtrip (
Drama Mengejar 2nd Year (
We did this road trip at the end of autumn, so the weather is not too hot nor too cold. I don't want to make the title misleading, but yep we departed from Keith, SA. I wrote from Adelaide because people tend to know Adelaide more than Keith (Adelaide is around 2.5 hours from Keith). Yep, we did the roadtrip approx. a week. We drove my old sedan auto, 2003 Mitsubishi Magna. In this trip, I used U95 petrol mostly because my car is pretty old. I got it fixed before this trip and had the battery, radiator and timing belt changed (spent around AUD 1500).
Day 1 Expenses:
1. 20L Petrol Jerry Can AUD 24.99
2. Ketih - Mt. Barker Petrol AUD 47.34
3. Mt. Barker - Pt. Wakefield Petrol + Full Jerry Can AUD 62.75
4. Pt. Wakefield - Pt. Augusta Petrol AUD 32.45
Tips if you're doing same trip:
1. Service your car before trip. Pay attention to tire, timing belt, radiator and battery
2. Bring engine oil, coolant, jump start cable (I prefer portable jump start) and jerry can
3. Use the PetrolSpy App to check the cheapest petrol in the town or upcoming town
4. Never drive more than half tank empty. Fill up the petrol full-tank always if possible (check the Petrol Spy App for the petrol station availability at the next city/town)
5. Use WikiCamps App to find free camping spot with the facilities provided
6. Have a rest every 2-3 hours driving
7. Check and top up the engine oil and coolant as needed after 6-8 hours drive
8. Check tire pressure every time you fill up petrol
9. Avoid driving in the night
10. Bring your own rubbish bag. Not all free camping spot has rubbish bin
11. Bring good sleeping bag because the weather tends to be very cold at night
