Monkey hill apartment rentals review Saint Peters Basseterre Parish St kitts

Here's a apartment I stayed at for a couple of weeks. The is a shop away few doors away which is handy, lots of parking space, washer dryer, hot water, microwave, Internet and there was lots of space. There was enough space for 2 couples if you wanted to. To get to Basseterre Town centre it would take 15-20 minutes on the local transport and 10 minutes in car. The areas a bit noisy especially in the morning, someone's always cutting grass early. You get to see the sun rise over the sea, which is a beautiful sight everyday, I did enjoy looking out in the and seeing all the mountains, the sea, the coconut trees and the wild Goat's and pigs walking around. Monkey Hill is a chilled area out of the way, if you want to be up and down to the town, then this isn't the best location, but if you want to get more in St kitts then this is a good starting point.

SAINT KITTS & NEVIS: THIS is the REAL Caribbean! Travel GUIDE for Nature, History & BEACHES

This is the REAL Caribbean. No mass tourism, but small hideaways, hidden gems and natural places. We hop the best beaches, drink Caribbean cocktails in the local bars, see the animals, lush green hills.. it's the real authentic paradise. We come straight from the popular Saint Martin, to go back to basic. We rent a car from Basseterre and drive to Timothy Hill Overlook, the Narrows, Caribelle Batik at Romney Manor, Friars Bay, Frigate Bay, Brimstone Fortress National Park and the Black Rocks. We also sail to smaller Nevis for a relaxing reggae holiday.

Previously you saw us on Saint Martin, where we explored the most amazing beaches and cultural places. From there we also made day trips to nearby Anguilla and Saint Barth (St Barts). The airplanes fly close to the beaches, while the underwater world is full of life, as we snorkeled with sea turtles.

We are currently hopping all the islands from North to South and started in the Dominican Republic. We hopped over to Puerto Rico and after this episode, we visit Antigua, Guadeloupe, Dominica, Martinique, Saint Lucia, Barbados, Grenada, Tobago and the Bahamas. Follow us on this Caribbean tour, now in Saint Kitts & Nevis and then many other beautiful destinations in the Caribbean Sea. We travel non-stop all year round and film everything, with a new episode every week. Also take a look at instagram @woutoftheworld or

Finding WILD Monkeys in St Kitts - Country #32

By this point we had been told our fate... the world was in a global pandemic and we would have to quarantine upon returning home. With the weight of the world hanging on our shoulders we took in every minute in this country knowing it could very well be our last for a while...

Enjoy!

St Kitts & Nevis Driving Around Downtown Basseterre and Palms Court Gardens Tour

Driving around downtown Basseterre of Caribbean island nation Saint Kitts and Nevis and visiting the Palms Court Gardens which appears to be also a Swedish consulate. This drive was part of the Panoramic Island Tour excursion by the Celebrity Equinox cruise ship.

According to Wikipedia at

Saint Kitts, officially the Saint Christopher Island, is an island in the West Indies. The west side of the island borders the Caribbean Sea, and the eastern coast faces the Atlantic Ocean. Saint Kitts and the neighboring island of Nevis constitute one country: the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis. Saint Kitts and Nevis are separated by a shallow 3-kilometre (2 mi) channel known as The Narrows.

Saint Kitts became home to the first Caribbean British and French colonies in the mid-1620s.[2][3] Along with the island of Nevis, Saint Kitts was a member of the British West Indies until gaining independence on 19 September 1983.

The island is one of the Leeward Islands in the Lesser Antilles. It is situated about 2,100 km (1,300 mi) southeast of Miami, Florida, US. The land area of Saint Kitts is about 168 km2 (65 sq mi), being approximately 29 km (18 mi) long and on average about 8 km (5.0 mi) across.

Saint Kitts has a population of about 40,000, the majority of whom are of African descent. The primary language is English, with a literacy rate of approximately 98%.[5] Residents call themselves Kittitians.

Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the largest fortress ever built in the Western Caribbean. The island of Saint Kitts is home to the Warner Park Cricket Stadium, which was used to host 2007 Cricket World Cup matches. This made Saint Kitts and Nevis the smallest nation to ever host a World Cup event. Saint Kitts is also home to several institutions of higher education, including Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, Windsor University School of Medicine, and the University of Medicine and Health Sciences.

The capital of the two-island nation, and also its largest port, is the town of Basseterre on Saint Kitts. There is a modern facility for handling large cruise ships there. A ring road goes around the perimeter of the island with smaller roads branching off it; the interior of the island is too steep for habitation.

Saint Kitts is 10 km (6.2 mi) away from Sint Eustatius to the north and 3 km (1.9 mi) from Nevis to the south. St. Kitts has three distinct groups of volcanic peaks: the North West or Mount Misery Range; the Middle or Verchilds Range and the South East or Olivees Range. The highest peak is Mount Liamuiga, formerly Mount Misery, a dormant volcano 1,156 m high.

Geology
The youngest volcanic center is Mt. Liamuiga, 5 km in diameter and rising to an elevation of 1155 m. Its last eruption was 1620 years ago, corresponding with the Steel Dust series of pyroclastic deposits on the western flank. The Mansion Series of pyroclastic deposits and andesite with basalt layers occur on the northern flank, along with mudflows. This volcano has a crater 900 m wide and 244 m deep, plus two distinct parasitic domes consisting primarily of andesite, Brimstone Hill and Sandy Point Hill which is coalesced with Farm Flat. Brimstone Hill is noted for having limestone on its flanks, which was dragged upward with the formation of the dome 44,400 years ago. Mt. Liamuiga partially overlays the Middle Range to the southeast. This Middle Range is another stratovolcano 976 m in height with a small summit crater containing a lake. Next in line is the 900 m South East Range, 1 Myr in age, consisting of four peaks. Ottley's dome and Monkey Hill dome are on the flanks, while the older volcanoes represented by Canada Hills, and Conaree Hills lie past the airport and Basseterre on the southeast flank. The Salt Dome Peninsula contains the oldest volcanic deposits, 2.3–2.77 Myr in age, consisting of at least nine Pelean domes rising up to 319 m in height, which includes Williams Hill and St. Anthony's Peak

A MONKEY STOLE MY GOPRO IN ST. KITTS // Honeymoon 2019

A MONKEY STOLE MY GOPRO IN ST. KITTS // Honeymoon 2019

This episode starts off on the island of Saint Martin, one side is occupied by the Dutch and the other side is occupied by the French. We took a taxi to the French side and visited the beautiful Fort Louis. We strolled around the town of Marigot and then took another cab back to the Dutch side, the city of Philipsburg. We took the day easy, so we didn't do that much on Saint Martin!

Saint Kitts and Nevis is an island country in the West Indies. It is the smallest sovereign state in the Western Hemisphere, in both area and population. The country is a Commonwealth realm, with Elizabeth II as queen and head of state.

We only had the chance to visit St. Kitts and sadly not its neighbour, Nevis. St. Kitts was most likely our second favorite island of the trip! We really enjoyed it.

We took another tour, starting from the capital of Basseterre all the way west to Brimstone Hill Fortress. The fortress was built by the British in 1689, sadly through the labour of African slaves. It is one of the best preserved historical fortifications in the Americas.

After the tour, we looked around Basseterre for a while. The beautiful colonial architecture was stunning! The city was founded in 1627 by the French and later taken over by the British in 1727. Then we met a monkey and played with him for a while. Suddenly he took my GoPro and started running! Luckily, he gave it back with some great footage!

St. Kitts Botanical Gardens view of mountain

The island of St. Kitts was pretty much one giant mountain that rises out of the ocean. So the peak of the island is right in the center. You can see the mountain in this video, which I shot from the botanical gardens. The gardens were paradise.

Frigate Bay, St. Kitts. Celebrity Silhouette
Kayak and Snorkel Excursion
This Kayak and snorkel trip took place off the
beach in Frigate Bay then the Snorkel was in a protected cove.
We swam out over the jetty into deeper water then back to the
beach to board the kayaks for the paddle back to the starting
point on the beach. This day it was good visibility and I was
able to see many turtles, fish, sting ray, cuttlefish,
jelly fish, and a spotted eagle ray.
