About 30 kilometers from #Mianwali City,
there is a very beautiful lake at the foot of the hills called Nimal Lake.
This lake is an attraction and attraction for tourists. Visitors to the lake cannot help but appreciate it.
This area is known as Wadi Namal. It has been inhabited for many centuries, which is evidenced by the ancient cemetery on the banks of the lake.
An interesting tradition is known about here that before the British era, when Punjab was ruled by the Sikhs, the ruler of this area used to be #Raja #Sarkap. who was famous for his debauchery and cruelty. He had built his vast mansion on the hills. Where he used to gamble.
He had announced that whoever defeated him would make him the ruler of the region but whoever lost would be beheaded. In this way, he beheaded hundreds of losers.
Finally the Raja of Sialkot defeated him, on which Raja Sarkup married his only daughter to him and entrusted him with the rule of the entire region.
Namal Lake was created in 1913 during the British rule. The land here was lush and fertile. People used to farm here. Then there were about hundred wells in this area.
Nimal Lake is a vast lake spread over an area of twelve hundred acres with a depth of twenty feet. The water coming from rain drains and springs from the mountains collects in this lake.
This water irrigates Mianwali town and adjoining villages. A small dam has also been built here. When the lake water falls through the iron gates of the dam like a #waterfall on the other side, a beautiful scene is created.

Namal Lake (Urdu: نمل جھیل) is located near Rikhi, a village on one corner of the Namal valley in Mianwali District, Punjab, Pakistan. It was formed following the construction of Namal Dam in 1913 (110 years ago). Namal Dam is situated some 32 km (20 mi) from Mianwali city. The lake has a surface area of 5.5 km2 (2.1 sq mi). Mianwali District was an agricultural region with forests during the Indus Valley Civilization. Then later Vedic Civilization took place. In 997 CE, Sultan Mahmud Ghaznavi took over the Ghaznavid dynasty empire established by his father, Sultan Sebuktegin. In 1005 he conquered the Shahis in Kabul, followed by the conquests of Punjab region. The Delhi Sultanate and later Mughal Empire ruled the region. The population of the Punjab region became majority Muslim, following the conquests by various Muslim dynasties from Central Asia.
