Drink It In Montana featuring Stonehouse Distillery in Winston, Montana

John and Snezhi Grahlert, owners of Stonehouse Distillery, chose the small community of Winston, Montana to call home. John, originally from Germany, and his wife, Snezhi, originally from Bulgaria, opened the distillery because they saw an opportunity to improve what was already available on the market. Stonehouse Distillery opened in 2012 and currently offers 12 spirits, specializing in rum and whiskey. In addition, they've created two popular cream liquors.

The name Stonehouse comes from the most prominent landmark in town, the old stone house, which is visible from Highway 287 just east of the Big Bull Bar and White Earth Campground turnoff.

Winston, Montana sits between Helena and Townsend along Highway 287, centrally located along Canyon Ferry Lake. This small community has a population of about 320 and is best known as the home of Stonehouse Distillery and The Big Bull Bar & Grill. Winston is an easy drive from both Helena and Townsend. The area is known for a variety of recreational opportunities including camping, boating, fishing, hiking, and hunting.
