Merrillville is a town in Ross Township, Lake County, Indiana, United States. The population was 35,246 at the 2010 census. Merrillville is in east-central Lake County, in the Chicago metropolitan area. On January 1, 2015, Merrillville became the most populated town in Indiana, as Fishers in Hamilton County was converted from a town to a city.
Chesterton is a town in Westchester, Jackson and Liberty townships in Porter County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. The population was 13,068 at the 2010 census. The three towns of Chesterton, Burns Harbor, and Porter are known as the Duneland area.
Michigan City is on the south shore of Lake Michigan, in Indiana. The Old Lighthouse Museum has exhibits on local maritime history and shipwrecks, and offers tours of the nearby 1858 Michigan City Lighthouse. Washington Park has a rock garden and gazebo, plus a beach. Washington Park Zoo is home to tigers, wolves, alligators and grizzly bears. The grand Barker Mansion is a 19th-century merchant’s home.
Michigan City is a city in LaPorte County, Indiana, United States. It is one of the two principal cities of the Michigan City-La Porte, Indiana Metropolitan statistical area, which is included in the Chicago-Naperville-Michigan City Combined statistical area.
