Thinking about going for a stand up paddle at Mentone Beach? In this video we check out this beach, exploring the best places to park your car and launch your stand up paddle board.
We’ve been using our stand up paddle boards for just over a year now and we are totally addicted! In this channel we share with you our journey as we answer all the questions we have had as beginners to the world of stand up paddling.
This video is part of our ‘locations’ playlist, where we keep all of our reviews of locations for stand up paddling across Melbourne and Victoria. Eventually we will head interstate and overseas.
Mentone Beach is a beach located on Port Phillip Bay, Victoria, 21 kilometres south from the Melbourne CBD. Mentone beach is the northern section of a beach that extends alongside Beaumaris Bay from the cliffs at Rickett's Point in Beaumaris to Frankston in the south on the eastern shoreline of Port Phillip Bay.
Parking is available along Beach Road. There are council car parks in various spots along Beach Road and there is one directly above Mentone Life Saving Club, although it is not large. There is a cost for parking. Street parking is also available but in busy periods this is hard to find.

Fall in Mentone is a Place To Dream with Life In Bama
A visit to scenic Mentone in the Fall is a wonderful retreat to dream. On this Life In Bama I will tell you about our visit to this area. The year we went to the Mentone and Fort Payne area there was a severe drought in our state. Many of the beautiful waterfalls that the area is known for were dry. But that did not deter us from enjoying the beautiful scenery of Mentone, Desoto State Park and Desoto National Park Preserve.
We had a great time walking on the road beside our quaint cabin atop Lookout Mountain. I hope you enjoy this video, subscribe if you do. Thanks for watching!
Life in the quiet 'burbs. A wander through Mentone shopping Centre
Here is a sample of our laid back lifestyle in a bayside suburb shopping centre. It was mid afternoon when the cafes were closing and the shops winding down for a quiet afternoon.
As a preamble I have included some photos of the old station that I took in 2018 for official City of Kingston history archives.
It had an old world atmosphere that had a village feel. Sadly lost.
On the walk we first check out the old heritage listed railway station buildings that were reinstalled to show the history of the precinct. The old rail alignment is now a mini plaza. We then walk and around to the new station that placed the railway in a trench and removed the level crossing. Crossing Como Parade takes us into the shopping centre proper and through the back of the shops. The building with the mosaics was the old public toilets.
BTW as at 14/10 2022: We are being flooded out here in Victoria over the next few days, so there may be a delay in posting new videos for a week or two. Stay tuned, I'll be back ASAP! More details:

The French Riviera offers you many options, such as Menton, Èze, Nice, Vence, Saint-Paul De Vence, Cagnes-sur-Mer, Antibes, Cannes, and Saint-Tropez.
I suggest you choose to visit the Exotic Garden of Èze.
Walk early in the morning or in the evening through the almost empty alleys of Saint-Paul De Vence.
Visit the terrace suspended over the sea of the Picasso Museum in Antibes.
Go on a hike to Cap Roux.
Immerse yourself in the turquoise water either below Cap Roux, or along the Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat peninsula.

High on its rocky perch you find ÈZE, an extremely well-kept village – maybe too much well-kept – with a beautiful Exotique garden. I suggest you explore this picturesque town walking the Nietzsche path and its narrow alleys.
SAINT PAUL DE VENCE has picturesque alleys with an incredible view on the Mediterranean coast. It has its most authentic atmosphere in the evening, when the hordes of tourists return to their coastal hotels.
ANTIBES is a sixteenth-century labyrinthine old town. The village is surrounded by its bastions and charms those who visit it with its port, the Provençal market, art museums, and much more.
