Caltanissetta is a comune in the central interior of Sicily, Italy, and the capital of the Province of Caltanissetta. Its inhabitants are called Nisseni.
The town lies in an area of rolling hills with small villages and towns, crossed by the river Salso. It borders on the municipalities of Canicattì, Delia, Enna, Marianopoli, Mazzarino, Mazzarino, Mussomeli, Naro, Petralia Sottana, Pietraperzia, San Cataldo, Santa Caterina Villarmosa, Serradifalco and Sommatino. Its frazioni are the villages of Bifaria, Borgo Petilia, Borgo Canicassè Casale, Cozzo di Naro, Favarella, Prestianni, Villaggio Santa Barbara, Santa Rita and Xirbi.

Mazzarò is a fraction of the municipality of Taormina , in the province of Messina. Located under the Taormina valley, Mazzarò is located along the coastal road 114 that connects Messina to Catania , just 1.48 km from the center of Taormina, bordering with Isola Bella , the nature reserve that attracts thousands of tourists each year.
Toponym of Arabic origin - the root mozàr reappears many times in Sicily ( Mazara , Mazzarino , Màzzara, Mazzarrà ), notes Vincenzo Consolo -, an ancient fishing village , Mazzaro is a naturalistic promontory of primary importance for the bay of Taormina and the Ionian coast , because of the Mediterranean vegetation that characterizes the territory, rich in green plants and flowers, such as agaves , hibiscus and oleanders . The art of Paul Kleehe took the sensuality of the Sicilian nature in the homonymous opera Mazzarò, realized during the repeated visits to Italy in 1924 and in 1931 , declaring: I am prey to a very strong feeling for the impressions aroused by Sicily .
After World War II, Mazzarò has become a renowned seaside resort. It has a cableway service (the Mazzarò-Taormina cableway ), recently renovated , which climbs up to Taormina in less than three minutes. The beach is served by numerous bars and restaurants; there are bathing establishments, hotels, tourist villages such as Le Rocce, built in 1954 , now abandoned, in search of a revival.
From Mazzarò and Isola Bella you can visit the caves of Capo Sant'Andrea, or the rock of Uncle Gennaro , by boat. In the recent past, Mazzaro has been chosen by the cinema for several locations of successful films , such as Tipi da spiaggia (1959) with Ugo Tognazzi and Johnny Dorelli.

The Saracen Castle (Castello saraceno) is situated in an elevated position above Taormina, at about 397m high. Most probably it was the site of the antique acropolis of the Greek town of Taormina. The Romans and later the Byzantines must have strengthened the site. In 902 AD the town fell to the Muslims after a siege of 2 years. They rebuilt the castle into its present form with a trapezoid plan adapted to the shape of the rock and crenellated walls.
You can get to the castle via a staircase that starts from the church of the Madonna della Rocca climbs up to reach the door.
The remains of this fortification are constituted by the imposing tower, the walls on which is implanted a tower, a cistern and an underground corridor.
Today, The castle is unfortunately closed and can not be visited by those tourists who would like to see the wonder of this ancient historic monument and the magnificent panorama from the summit of Mount Tauro.

[프랑스] 파리 자오선에서 쏘는 대포, 루브르 박물관 근처 시민들의 휴식처로 각광을 받는 '팔레 루아얄' 정원 Palais Royal
루브르 궁전의 북쪽 측면에 있는 광장과 접한 ‘팔레 루아얄’은 파리의 심장부에 위치하고 있으면서도 조용하고 아늑한 분위기를 풍기고 있어 수 많은 방문자들에게 편안한 휴식을 제공하고 있다.
‘루이 13세’ 시절, 1624년 ‘리슐리유 Richelieu’ 추기경이 재상으로 임명되자마자 이 땅을 얻고, 1629년 건축가 ‘쟈크 르메르시에 Jacques Lemercier’에게 웅장하고 아름다운 ‘추기경 궁전 Palais Cardinal’을 건설하도록 의뢰한다. 7년 후 궁이 거의 끝나갈 무렵 ‘붉은 사제 복의 스핑크스’ 라고 불리던 ‘리슐리외’ 추기경이 ‘루이 13세’에게 궁전을 양도하지만 ‘루이 13세’는 곧 죽고, 왕비인 ‘안느 도트리쉬 Anne d’Autriche’와 5살의 ‘루이 14세’가 이 곳에 정착하면서 ‘팔레 루아얄’ (왕족의 궁전)으로 불리게 된다.
‘루이 14세’가 친정을 하기에는 너무 어리기 때문에 오스트리아 출신의 어머니 ‘안느 도트리쉬 Anne d`Autriche’와 이탈리아 출신의 추기경 ‘마자랭 Mazarin’이 섭정을 맡았지만, 둘 사이가 심상찮다는 유언비어가 퍼지며 염문을 뿌린 곳이기도 하다. 두 명의 외국인이 섭정을 맡아 자신들의 왕인 ‘루이 14세’를 현혹하고, 나라를 망친다는 염려에서 시작된 ‘프롱드의 난 Fronde’을 통하여, 자신의 얼굴을 보기 위하여 궁으로 난입한 파리의 시민들을 보았고, 시민들의 요구로 거처를 루브르 궁전으로 옮기면서, 14살의 어린 ‘루이 14세’는 왕궁은 시민들과 어느 정도 거리를 두는 것이 바람직하다고 여기고, 가장 화려한 궁전으로 관광객의 발길이 끊이지 않는 베르사이유 궁전의 탄생 역사는 ‘프롱드의 난’으로 ‘루이 14세’의 가슴속에서 시작되었다고 볼 수도 있겠다.
1652년 14살의 ‘루이 14세’가 루브르 궁으로 거처를 옮기면서, 영국 왕 ‘챨스 1세 Charles 1’의 부인 ‘앙리에트 프랑스 Henriette France’가 물려받고 그의 딸인 ‘앙리에트 덩글레테흐 Henriette d’Angleterre’가 소유하고 있었다. ‘루이 14세’의 동생인 ‘필립 도흘레앙 Philippe d`Orléans’공의 소유가 되었고, 1780년 ‘루이 필립 도흘레앙 Louis Philippe d’Orléans’이 건축가 ‘빅토르 루이 Victor Louis’에게 명하여 통일된 양식으로 연결된 3동의 건물을 건설하면서 새로이 생겨난 길에는 아들들의 이름을 붙이는데 지금도 양쪽 길에 ‘발르와 거리 Rue de Valoir’, ‘몽팡시에 거리 Rue de Montpensier’에 그 흔적이 남아있다.
18세기에 까페와 상가들이 들어서면서 사교계의 무대가 되었고, 각종 도박장들이 난립하였으며 ‘카사노바 Casanova’의 활동 무대인 향락 장소로 전락하였다가, 1838년 프랑스의 마지막 왕인 ‘루이 필립’에 의하여 도박장이 폐쇄될 때까지 파리의 오락장 구실을 하였다.
‘나폴레옹 3세’ 시절에는 나폴레옹 가문의 저택으로 사용되다가 1870년 파리 ‘꼬뮌 Commune’ 때에 시민들의 방화로 파괴되고, 1872-1876년 건축가 ‘샤브롤 Chabrol’에 의하여 복원되어 ‘국무원 Conseils d`Etat’ 과 ‘문화성 Ministere de la Culture’ 이 들어서 있다.
1986년 ‘다니엘 뷔렌 Daniel Buren’의 현대적 감각으로 검고 흰 줄무늬의 260개 대리석 기둥들이 늘어선 이곳은 많은 시민들과 관광객의 휴식처로 각광을 받고 있다. 복잡한 파리 시내의 소음에서 벗어나 조용하게 산책을 하거나, 루브르 박물관의 작품을 관람하고 조용히 음미하는 곳으로 제격이다.
1550 년부터 1750 년까지 약 2 세기 동안 해시계만이 정확한 시간을 맞추었다. 이제 막 발달하기 시작한 개인 회중시계가 맞지 않았기에, 파리의 멋쟁이들은 이 정원을 지나는 ‘자오선’(Méridienne de¬ Paris) 위에 설치된 화창한 날씨에 정오의 태양빛을 돋보기가 모아서 화약에 불을 붙여 울리는 청동 대포 소리에 시간을 맞추었단다.
1884년 런던 그리니치 천문대를 표준으로 하는 본초자오선이 결정되었고, 1911년부터는 이 대포를 쏘지 못하도록 법령을 발포하여 자리만 지키고 있었는데 1998년 도둑을 맞는다. 지금 대포는 2002년에 본래 자리에 다시 설치한 복제품! 요즘은 매주 수요일 정오에 인공적으로 울리는 대포를 보기 위하여 파리지앵과 관광객들이 몰려든다.

The Palais Royal, which faces the square on the north side of the Louvre Palace, is located in the heart of Paris, but it has a quiet and cozy atmosphere, providing a comfortable rest for many visitors.
During the reign of Louis XIII, Cardinal Richelieu acquired this land as soon as he was appointed as prime minister in 1624, and in 1629, he commissioned the architect Jacques Lemercier to build the magnificent and beautiful Palais Cardinal. Through the ‘Fronde’, which started with concerns that two foreigners would take over as regents and deceive their king, ‘Louis XIV’, and ruin the country, he saw the citizens of Paris storming into the palace to see his face, and as he moved his residence to the Louvre Palace at the request of the citizens, the young 14-year-old ‘Louis XIV’ thought that it was desirable for the royal palace to keep some distance from the citizens, and the history of the birth of the Palace of Versailles, the most splendid palace and a constant stream of tourists, could be seen as having started in the heart of ‘Louis XIV’ with the ‘Fronde’.
