*Cómo llegar a San Luis Potosí

Welcome back to San Luis Potosi! Firstly, below are the Airbnb links I mentioned in the video, I would 100% recommend them if you are visiting San Luis Potosi as part of your Mexico trip in 2019!
ELIZABETH'S AIRBNB IN SAN LUIS POTOSI -
SAMM'S AIRBNB IN CEDRAL - (ideal for Real de Catorce)
In this video I give you my final and lasting impressions of San Luis Potosi, which in my opinion is one of my favourite states in Mexico after being in the country for a year so far. It has so much to offer including the city itself, Real de Catorce, Huasteca Potosina, AMAZING food including Enchiladas Potosinas, Enchiladas Huastecas and Costanzo Chocolate.
There is SO much more to do in San Luis Potosi than I covered in my videos, so I intend to return! There's definately much more to Mexico than typical tourist destinations such as Cancun and Puerto Vallarta!
Check out my Mexico playlists for 3 videos in San Luis itself, Cedral, Real de Catorce and Xilitla!

REAL DE CATORCE, SAN LUIS POTOSI, MEXICO - Hola amigos! We have finally made it to the former silver mining town of Real de Catorce in the state of San Luis Potosi in Mexico! This is a feature length video detailing a location which gives you an authentic feel of the Mexican desert. If you'e planning a Mexico trip or Mexico vacation in 2019, San Luis Potosi and Real de Catorce have to be on your itinerary!
Real de Catorce is located approx 2700 metres above sea level north of Matehuala in San Luis Potosi state. It rose to prominence in the late 1700s when silver was discovered, which became the main industry in the area. Once the early 1900s came, the price of silver had plummeted, resulting in the town being largely abandoned.
You can visit Real de Catorce on a tour/bus from San Luis Potosi or Matehuala or do it yourself as I did (My Airbnb host in Cedral drove me). There is a bus back at 1540 and at other times throughout the day (you get a small bus through the Ogarrio tunnel then change to a Grupo Senda bus to Matehuala).
You can also visit the ghost town higher up by horse, or (As I did), walk! It takes about 1-1.5hrs depending on fitness.
WIND - Yes there is wind in the video (I was at 3000 metres), please put the subtitles on if you can't hear.
MUSIC -
Distant Echo - Jakob Ahlbom (Intro and Outro)
Breaking of Dawn 4 - Stefan Mothender (Exploring section)
I Promise You - Johannes Bornlof (Cemetary and Church scenes)
Cinematic Introductions 4 - Magnus Ringblom (Ghost Town Trek)

Matehuala Mexico to Laredo Texas Border Part1 Time-Lapse
This is part one of a time-lapse video from our Garmin dashcam from our drive from Matehuala Mexico north to the U.S. border near Laredo Texas. Matehuala is a city in the Mexican state of San Luis Potosí, situated at an elevation of about 5,000 feet. This is an overnight spot where we like to stay while driving to/from the U.S. We're posting this so fellow travelers can see what the roads are like in Mexico. Part of this is toll road so there's stops at toll plazas where we either pay cash (Pesos only, no dollars or credit cards accepted) or use a transponder we purchased in Mexico to speed things up.
Sorry about the bug guts on the windshield...I didn't realize it was there until we stopped for the night in Texas as it was obscured by my rear view mirror.
As always, watch the video in full-screen at the best quality setting, and slow it down by adjusting the playback-speed setting by clicking on the small gear symbol in the lower-right of the video. We suggest a speed of 0.5 or 0.25.

*I have a new WEBSITE! It's time to RETURN to the epic San Luis Potosi for a NEW 3 part series! I was last in San Luis in February 2019 and visited Real de Catorce, La Huasteca, Xilitia and more as well as experiencing local dishes Enchiladas Potosinas and Huastecas and the famous Costanzo Chocolates!
San Luis is definately my favourite place in Mexico, largely because it feels more untouched by tourism than other areas of Mexico such as Guanajuato, Cancun, San Miguel de Allende and Puerto Vallarta, which I love!
In this vide we start by checking out the following -
- Barrio San Sebastian - a wonderful residential area close to Centro!
- Mercado Tangamanga - an awesome traditional Mexican market full of produce as well as affordable Enchiladas Potosinas!
- Centro - one of my favourite Centro's in Mexico!
- Calzada de Guadelupe - a gorgeous long road heading past the Museo de Leonora Carrington, down to an awesome church!
- Basilica de Nuestro Senora de Guadelupe - a stunning church with all the features you expect from a church in Mexico!
- Parque Tangamanga 1 - a huge city park beaten only in sixe in Mexico by Chapultepec Park in Mexico City!
Stay tuned for much more from San Luis Potosi - the perfect spot to include in your Mexico trip in 2019!
