- Don't get too drunk
- Don't try to rush the locals
- Avoid the riverside after midnight
- When getting a message, just bring the amount you'll need to pay for it. (Don’t bring your phone).

Exploring Masaya Volcano
Today we’re visiting the “Masaya Volcano National Park”, located 10 minutes from Masaya or half an hour from Managua. The park is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Pacific, as it offers the opportunity of direct contact with its most active crater – the Santiago crater.
The “Masaya Volcano National Park” comprises an area of 54km² that includes two volcanoes and five craters. The park opens its doors from 9:00 am and offers two schedules for your visit, until 5:00 pm for a day visit and until 8:00 pm for a night visit where you can see the lava lake from the main crater.
From the entrance you access the road that circulates through the impressive surroundings of the park, showing its vegetation and fauna adapted to the soil covered by volcanic stones. The first stop (optional) is the Visitor Center, where a permanent exhibition is offered that tells the history, structure and nature of the park, as well as other volcanoes in the region. In front of the Visitor Center is the picnic area, where there is space to rest, have food or beverages, appreciate the view and even buy some souvenirs in a small store.
As night falls, the night visit to the volcano begins. This tour is also available every day; It starts at 5:00 PM and ends around 8:00 PM, depending on the influx of visitors.
