Martano to Otranto, Italy: Puglia Cycle Tours

A really enjoyable coastal bike ride adventure in Italy. One of the best! We started our day off in an awesome way, swimming and relaxing by the pool. We then rode 30+ miles along the coast, seeing lots of amazing scenery. We finished the day off with a swim in the sea and pizza and wine on the water.

🇮🇹 How can FOOD be so GOOD!!???
We made the decision to finish our time in Italy by venturing down South so some INCREDIBLE towns in the Puglia (Apulia) and the Basilicata region of Italy. We tried some of the best food we've had (Literally one food made top 3 of all time/all countries on my list) and explore 3 beautiful southern Italian cities. The ancient city of Matera, the Spartan settled Taranto and the gorgeous port city of Bari. Eating italian street food the entire time! (and probably some of the best food in the south of Italy)

The presence of man in the Martano territory since the most remote times is indicated by some sporadic finds of lithic tools in different areas such as the discovery of five pit tombs, datable between the 8th and the 3rd century BC, and the presence of the existence of some pre-Roman settlements inhabited by Umbrian populations.

With the construction of the Via Flaminia, Massa Martana found itself at the center of the busiest and most important artery that connected Rome to the ports of the Adriatic and to northern Italy.
