Marine Corps Squadron Arrives In Hawaii For RIMPAC 2022
Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 232 (VMFA-232) and Marine Air-Ground Task Force 7 (MAGTF-7), arrive at Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay to stage in preparation for exercise Rim of the Pacific 2022 (RIMPAC 2022) on July 6, 2022. RIMPAC 2022 is the world’s largest international maritime exercise, including unmanned and remotely operated vessels, twenty-six nations, 38 ships, four submarines, more than 170 aircraft and 25,000 personnel. RIMPAC 2022 is the 28th exercise in the series that began in 1971.

Most visitors go to Hawaii to sit out on the beach. The most famous one in Waikiki is Waikikiki Beach, but you can also try Kaimani, Beach Hanauma Bay, or Kuhio Beach. They’re all wonderful areas to relax, learn to surf, or snorkel with beautiful marine species.
There’s no end to the natural beauty of Hawaii. In Waikiki alone, you can visit the Foster Botanical Garden, Halona Blow Hole, and Lyon Arboretum.
Hawaii is more than a place to relax; it also offers opportunities to learn. You can start by exploring its rich military history. Commemorate the Pearl Harbor attack by visiting the memorial dedicated to it or stop by the US Army Museum of Hawaii to see how residents have been protecting their homes for centuries.
There are also monuments to Hawaii’s former monarchy to visit in Waikiki. Visit the Iolani Palace, home of its final queen. If that building isn’t opulent enough for you, go to the Shangri La Mansion.
Waikiki is worth the visit for more than what you can see; you may be surprised by what you can eat. A few of your many options include brunch at Basalt, dairy-free ice cream at a Banan, or a seafood dinner on top of the world at SKY Waikiki.
Don’t forget to go shopping before you leave. The best places include the Ala Moana Center, Kalakaua Avenue, and the eclectic Aloha Swap Meet.

Paddleboarding and Snorkeling at Secret Beach on the Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Kaneohe Bay
One of the best coral reefs on Oahu island is Pali Kilo Cove, also known as Secret Beach on Marine Corps Kaneohe in Hawaii. It is a gem that is largely protected and preserved due to its location on the Marine Corps Base Hawaii. If it was not, it would probably have been destroyed along with other reefs on the island. So please use mineral reef-safe sunscreen and DO NOT step on the reef or touch it.
Please only go at the peak of high tide. When we had to turn around we were only an hour from high tide, but it still wasn't enough. I can't even imagine what low tide looks like. But if you enjoy the reef please don't step on it.
Snorkeling here reminded me of the reefs on the island of Maui. So beautiful! It's a nice treat!

🪖 If you are new to our channel, John re-enlisted in the military after being out for ten years. Kind of crazy. But John was a Marine and he loved the Marines. Afghanistan Veteran. The only reason he got out was for me. Back before online jobs or school, he gave up the Marines and allowed me to start my career. I had an amazing career spending years growing and working with Target as a Store Director. But with Covid came many changes. One of those was to stay home and homeschool Alexandra. And so it opened the door for John to do whatever he wanted to do. He re-enlisted, but this time we both agreed on the Army. But after being out so long, John had to go through Basic training again or OSUT. Six months of that followed by waiting for command sponsorship for our first OCONUS move and the family has been apart for 10 months. Crazy considering this wasn't a deployment. But we made it! We are now stationed at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii for the next 2 to 3 years and feel truly blessed to be here!
