After my successful Cebu Solo-Backpacking, another solo-backpacking in the Visayas was planned, a solo-backpacking in #NegrosOccidental and Ilo-Ilo province. Language barrier wasn't a problem because Hiligaynon has similarity to our native language in Romblon. During my travel, I found out that the Negrenses are really accommodating and has a good sense of direction. In a simple question like: where is it located? they provided me a detailed instruction. In general, Negros Occidental and the province of Ilo-Ilo are Must Visit provinces in the Philippines. Sorted according to my itinerary, historical, heritage and tourist spots below were my destinations.

The Ruins of Talisay City
WHERE TO STAY: My itinerary was for 3 days and 2 nights. My first night was in Bacolod City where I stayed at Check Inn Bacolod near the plaza infront of Bacolod Cathedral. Other hotels in the city are Go Hotels Ph, East Square Inn, Dormitels.ph, Khokoon Inn, LOC Residences, Carefully Yours, Nirvana Pension House, Java Pension House, Mainstreet Pension House, and Tamera Plaza Inn.
HOW TO GET HERE: From Manila, Air Asia, Cebu Pacific and Phippine Airlines has a direct flight to Silay-Bacolod Airport. From Silay, there are UV Express or jeepney to Bacolod City.

Exploring the beauty of Negros Occidental
For my last day in a 3 day adventure in Western Visayas, I took a boat going to the province of Negros Occidental. This will be also my Exit point going back to Manila. Once I arrived in Bacolod City I was welcomed by a warm hospitality from the people of Bacolod. This city is definitely a city of smiles. I visited 2 spots in Bacolod and Bap Alvin accompanied me goingto Lakawon Island, A private island resort that is located in the town of Cadiz, Negros Occidental. I was able to see the beauty of this island and mini sandbar and definitely a worth visiting.
