Part 4 Finale:
Mae Hong Son Loop Finale: Top 10 Things to Do in Mae Hong Son Town, Thailand
We reached Mae Hong Son, capital of Mae Hong Son province, on the 4th day of our motorbike tour and decided to stay here fo 3 days. We spent Christmas 2019 here so there were more lights than usual. In this video, I share my top 10 things to do in Mae Hong Son, in no particular order
#1 Visit the temple on a hill - Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu
Here you will find signs that says 1864. That is not the altitude of a year, it’s the number of curves you have to go through to get here.
#2 Watch sunset at Before Sunset Coffee shop
This is just on the other side of the temple. There is a nice overlooking view from the temple but the sun has a better view here when it’s going down. The sky turns magnificent orange on a big horizon.
#3 Check out the night market and eat by the lake
Thailand is abundant with night market and a variety of delicious food. Here, you can enjoy your Thai street food beside the lake
#4 Visit the Wat Chong Kham
This temple is near the night market and lake and nicely lit up at night. The gates are open at night, however, there is a museum that is only open during the day.
#5 Visit Wat Pha Bong Tai
If you plan to go to the hotspring, this is a good stop over as it is on the way to Ban Pha Bong Hot Spring.
#6 Take a bath at Ban Pha Bong Hot Spring
I recommend the private small pool for 50 Baht. There is also a public pool for 20 Baht, and a free pool. On our first day, we also tried a free foot soak.
#7 Vist Wat Kam Ko
There are numerous temples, and this is one that is easy to get to as it’s on the way from the hot spring and the hill temple. If you only have one day in Mae Hong Son, you can squeeze this in. It has a wooden temple, however, contruction was on-going when we were here on December 2019.
#8 Check out and eat at the Morning Market
There are a variety of fresh produce and food to see here. Some vendors are from the hill tribe too.
#9 Enjoy the lake view
We stayed at Like View Guesthouse for the perfect view of the lake from their terrace. Their rooms are decent for only 300 Baht for a double room.
#10 Bonus
Except for tourist destinations in northern Thailand, we rarely saw Christmas decorations on our Mae Hong Son loop tour. Here in Mae Hong Son, there is a small street near the night market that was decorated in Christmas lights and lantern by a smalll Christian community. The temples were also lit up making it look like a Christmas tree.

CHIANG MAI, THAILAND (2023) | 10 BEST Things To Do In & Around Chiang Mai
Chiang Mai is located in the northwest of Thailand. We highlight the best things to do in & around Chiang Mai:
10. Eat the traditional dish Khao Soi
This creamy yellow curry noodle soup comes with a choice of chicken or beef, and you can find it in nearly any restaurant in the Chiang Mai.
9. Tour the Buddhist Temples of the old town
There are over 300 Buddhist temples in Chiang Mai and many of them are located inside the historic old town, including Wat Phra Singh, Wat Chiang Man, Wat Phan Tao, and Wat Chedi Luang.
8. Visit an elephant sanctuary
We visited Elephant Nature Park near Chiang Mai, a sanctuary that is committed to education and rehabilitation of elephants that have been abused by the tourism industry.
☑️ Elephant Nature Park:
7. Join a cooking class
We joined a half-day cooking class, during which we prepared 3 different dishes; a Thai soup, a curry, and Pad Thai. For each dish, there were different options to choose from for your proteins and flavors.
☑️ Chiang Mai cooking class we joined:
6. Cruise down the Mae Ping River
The Mae Ping River is the main river running through Chiang Mai and offers a quick escape from the city. You can rent a kayak and cruise down yourself or join a 2 hour boat tour that takes you past beautiful scenery around Chiang Mai.
☑️ Mae Ping River Cruise:
5. Day tour to Doi Inthanon National Park
Home to Thailand’s highest mountain, Doi Inthanon National Park is about a 1.5 hour drive from the city. The park is filled with beautiful waterfalls, hiking trails, viewpoints, and twin pagodas near the summit.
☑️ Doi Inthanon Day Tour from Chiang Mai:
4. Shop at the local Talat Warorot
This historic market opened in the early 20th century and is a great place to buy clothes, souvenirs, local food and spices. Open daily from 6am to 7pm.
3. Visit Wat Phra That Doi Suthep
The sacred Doi Suthep temple is about 15 km or 9 miles outside of Chiang Mai. The temple also offers beautiful views of the city and the surrounding area.
2. Drive the Samoeng loop
This 100km or 62 miles route is a pretty easy ride with spectacular views winding through the Mae Sa Valley and the Samoeng Forest. We recommend making a few stops along the way: the Mae Sa waterfalls, botanical gardens, and the Samoeng viewpoint.
1. Chiang Mai Sunday Night Market
The largest market in Chiang Mai is the Sunday Night Market. Starting from the Tha Pae Gate, the market runs along the entire length of the Ratchadamnoen Road from 5pm until around 10.30pm. It’s also possible to visit the Saturday Night Market or the Chang Puak Gate Market on any other day of the week.

CHIANG RAI, THAILAND (2023) | 12 INCREDIBLE Things To Do In & Around Chiang Rai
Chiang Rai is the northernmost province in Thailand. Filled with lush hills, fine local food, an abundance of temples, and cultural sights, this is one of the country’s most fascinating regions. And although it’s located right next to the well-trodden Chiang Mai, this province doesn’t receive as many tourists. In fact, most people visit Chiang Rai as a day trip from Chiang Mai, but we recommend spending at least a few days here to fully soak in the unique culture. Chiang Rai City is the main hub to explore the hidden corners of the region from. But the city itself also has a wide variety of attractions. In this video, we highlight the best things to do inside the city of Chiang Rai as well as excursions to its surrounding area.

Travel Thailand | Walking Tour | Mae Hong Son
Take a morning a walk with me around Mae Hong Son. This is a city that not a lot of tourists get a chance to travel to because of it's isolated location. Mae Hong Son is not far from the Myanmar border , way up in the mountains in Northern Thailand and is a city rich in history and character. In this travel vlog I walk through the city streets early in the morning and watch the town come alive as the Thai people get their day going. I found a great market which was a lot of fun to check out. Hope you enjoy this thailand travel vlog. Thanks for watching.
