Longquan City, Lishui City, Zhejiang Province, is a county-level city, located in the southwest of Zhejiang Province, the border between Zhejiang, Fujian and Gan, geographical coordinates 27°42'~28°20'N, 118°42'~119°25'E, an area of 3059 square kilometers, jurisdiction of 4 streets, 8 towns, 7 townships; east of Wenzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, west of Wuyi Mountain national scenic tourism area, is Zhejiang Province into Jiangxi, Fujian, the main channel. Fujian's main channel, known as the Ouwu Bamin thoroughfare, the post and horse route, the throat of commerce and travel, traditionally for Zhejiang, Fujian, Gan adjacent areas of trade and commerce town. According to the seventh census data, as of November 1, 2020, the resident population of Longquan was 248,866.
Longquan is a famous national historical and cultural city,[2] and has flourished in humanities since ancient times. It is not only the famous capital of celadon and the state of swords, but also the birthplace of mushroom cultivation in the world and the first township of Chinese ganoderma lucidum; with a forest coverage rate of 84.2%, the city is a national ecological demonstration area, a national forest city, an ecological city in Zhejiang Province and a garden city in Zhejiang Province, and is known as the Ten Counties in the Prefecture with Good Longquan. [3-6]
In June 2017, Longquan was named a national health city, and in July 2017, Longquan was listed as a national historical and cultural city.

Lishui, Zhejiang, China
Lishui, known as Shizhou in ancient times, is a prefecture-level city with the largest land area under the jurisdiction of Zhejiang Province; located in the Yangtze River Delta region, southwestern Zhejiang Province, with coordinates between 118°41′-120°26′ E and 27°25′-28°57′ N. The terrain is dominated by mesas and hills, sloping from southwest to northeast; it has one municipal district: Liandu District, seven counties: Qingtian County, Jinyun County, Suichang County, Songyang County, Yunhe County, Qingyuan County, Jingning County, and one county-level city under its jurisdiction: Longquan City. At the end of 2021, the city's registered population was 2,699,700.
Lishui is known as the Green Valley of Zhejiang, and there are 3,573 peaks above 1,000 meters above sea level in its territory. 1,929 meters above sea level in Fengyang Mountain, Longquan City, and 1,856.7 meters above sea level in Baisanzu, Qingyuan County, are the first and second highest peaks in Zhejiang Province, respectively. Lishui people belong to the Jiangzhe folk system using the Wu language, and Lishui culture belongs to the Wu-Yue culture.
In January 2005, Lishui City was named the third batch of national ecological demonstration area; in December 2009, it was named China's Excellent Tourism City and China's Excellent Ecological Tourism City successively. On December 23, 2010, the Organizing Committee of Forest Concern officially awarded Lishui the title of Forest City of Zhejiang Province. In November 2017, Lishui was awarded the title of National Civilized City.[3] In November 2018, Lishui was ranked 46th in China's prefecture-level cities' overall wellbeing index.[4] On December 12, 2018, Lishui was named as the second batch of Green Water and Green Mountain is Golden Mountain practical innovation cities. is the silver mountain of gold practice innovation base.

Visiting a Chinese Zen Master's First Temple | Longquan Monastery
Baizhang Huaihai (百丈懷海, Wade-Giles: Pai-chang Huai-hai) is one of the most famous ancient Chinese Chan/Zen masters and known mostly for his monastary reforms that allowed monastics to be more self-sufficient. He is commonly attributed with the saying “A day without work is a day without food” (一日不做一日不食). He was originally from Changle, Fujian and ordained at the site where Longquan Monastery (龙泉禅寺) now stands. He later moved to the neighbouring Jiangxi province, where he became the dharma heir of Mazu Daoyi.
The spiritual light shines alone, far transcending the senses and their fields; the essential substance is exposed, real and eternal. It is not contained in written words. The nature of mind has no defilement; it is basically perfect and complete in itself. Just get rid of delusive attachments, and merge with realization of thusness.
