My LEAST Favorite Place to Visit

I was asked what was the worst place I ever visited, and to be honest there is no worst place I ever visited. There are just some places that really disappointed me and most of it was my own fault, and no fault of the cities on this video.

Street Food in Peru - ULTIMATE 14-HOUR PERUVIAN FOOD + Market Tour in Lima!

Also, big thank you to Elias for showing us around Lima:

Street food in Lima, Peru! #Lima #Peru #PeruvianFood #streetfood

Peruvian food is one of the world’s great cuisines, and I was thrilled to have a chance to visit Peru to learn about and taste the food. In this video, get ready for an ultimate 14-hour straight Peruvian street food tour of Lima!

Here’s everything included in this food tour:

La Parada Market - If you love vegetable markets, I don’t think anywhere else in Lima is as colorful, energetic, and vibrant. This is the beating heart of Lima’s food supply, and I fully enjoyed walking around and seeing the diversity of ingredients from around Peru all in one busy wholesale Market.

Caldo Cesar - Elias navigated us to Caldo Cesar, a restaurant that was incredibly packed and specializes in some of Lima’s best caldo de gallina - chicken hen soup. It was one of the best chicken soups I’ve ever had in my life. Total Price - 52 PEN ($15.71) for 4

Ceviche Cart - One of the national dishes and most beloved dishes of Peru is ceviche (raw fish in lime juice), and we walked over to the section of the market where they sell fish and seasonings for ceviche and had a plate of fresh Peruvian ceviche. It was delicious. Price - 8 PEN ($2.42)

Fruit Tasting - This was pretty unplanned, we just walked around the fruit market and tasted about a dozen types of fruit. My favorite fruits were the Sanky - Fruit produced by a cactus, Camu camu - Native to the Amazon rainforest, and Lucuma - Gold of the Incas.

Papa rellena - This is one of the most common of all Peru street foods, a papa rellena, or a Peruvian stuffed potato. I was impressed - one of the best fried potatoes maybe I’ve ever had in my life.

Tocosh - This fermented potato pulp, was invented by the Incas, and it’s not for the faint of heart. I thought it was unique and pretty delicious, and fun to eat, and it contains natural penicillin.

Papa con huevo - This was ok, but just basic, a potato with egg on top and doused in sauces. This is again, a classic part of Peruvian street food, especially enjoyed by children.

Sanguchería El Chinito - “I practically moved to Peru just for this sandwich.” - Timour Ghoneim. That says it all about this legendary chicharrón Peruvian sandwich located at Plaza de Armas. And he was right, you would move to Lima for this sandwich.

Don Tito Pollos a la Brasa - If you ask Peruvians what is one of their comfort foods, I’m guessing pollo a la brasa would be a common answer. Pollo a la brasa is Pervuian rotisserie chicken, but somehow they just do it better in Peru. Total Price - 84 PEN ($25.39)

Anticuchos Manuela - Without a doubt, this was one of my favorite parts of this entire Peru street food tour of Lima, anticuchos, or grilled cow hearts. They are truly majestic, so juicy and flavorful, you won’t believe it. Price - 10 PEN ($3.02)

Picarones - Finally to end this ultimate street food in Peru tour of Lima, we ordered some picarones, donuts made from sweet potato and pumpkin. They are addictively delicious and should be eaten when you’re in Lima. Price - 6 PEN ($1.81) per box

Barranco: One of Lima Peru's Top Neighborhoods

Who could choose which neighborhood in Lima is the best, between Barranco and Miraflores? I profiled Miraflores in my last video and here, I give Barranco the same treatment. Either place could legitimately be considered the best part of Peru's capital city.

This might just be the ultimate guide on the Internet to the Barranco neighborhood. It features places you will want to go and things you will want to see. I will take you to the Bridge of Sighs, to the Malecon on top of the cliff, to have a Pisco Sour, to dine on Ceviche and much, much more.

Make sure you watch this and the Miraflores videos, before booking you trip to Lima.

Music provided by Epidemic Sound.

Having retired in 2023, I now travel full-time, seeing places all around the world. My idea for YouTube is to make the videos more about the places and people along the way, than about me. I hope that the experience for you is both entertaining and educational. Perhaps you will come away from my channel with ideas about places you would like to visit or be inspired to forge your own way.

I travel slowly, spending four or five weeks in each destination. Hopefully, that will allow me to go beyond the surface to find the essence of each location. By the end of 2024, I will have visited 14 countries and five of the seven continents. Come along for the journey!

HOLA FROM PARAGUAY --Did you know their first language is NOT Spanish here? It's called Guaraní!

If you are like me 2 days ago, then you know nothing about Paraguay -- so my goal in this video is to introduce and open you mind to this hidden subtropical nation (and culture) in 3 minutes!!

If I am being 100% honest with you, I had very low expectations going into this trip... Most people I know who have been to Paraguay, told me it's boring and not worth my time to visit. Well, I was proven wrong! I love going to places that most people don't visit. It excites me more than anything else.

I was lucky enough to meet up with 2 friends who reached out on Instagram, Niko and his uncle Hernan, who picked me up from the airport and drove me all around Asunción and the countryside for 2 days. We ate amazing food, walked around the city, went to some markets and more -- and it was a lot of fun! I learned a lot about the most homogeneous culture in South America.

Here are 8 things I've discovered about Paraguay, that you might not know.

Lima, Peru: Possibly the Best City in South America

Obviously, I haven't been to them all, but after spending a month in Lima, Peru, it would not surprise me if it is not the best city in all of South America. The City Centre is historic and stately. Shanty towns such as Villa El Salvador are as real as it gets. Tha Larco Museum is one of the top such places on the continent. The Miraflores and Barranco neighborhoods compare favorably to places anywhere.

Join me in this video, as I take a look at numerous aspects of Lima and then decide for yourself if it is a place you could visit or live!

First Time in PARAGUAY 🇵🇾 (exploring Asuncion)

PARAGUAY, Asunción — Street Food【4K】🇵🇾

Welcome to Asuncion, Paraguay. Unknown to many and surrounded by Brazil, Argentina and Bolivia, there is a beauty and exotic nation called PARAGUAY has a lot to see and do. This is a new 4K Paraguay Asunción, nightlife and street food tour video by Wanna Walk

Follow Wanna Walk on Social Media:

What do you eat at night when you feel really hungry? It's Sunday 10:30pm and I just found a pretty cool place to eat: it's called: Lomilito's. What is so interesting about this place? These guys installed some kind of track food at the parking lot at night. You'll love the fun atmosphere. This is not a touristic place, it's popular among locals.

They serve fast food basically: hamburgers, shawarmas and french fries. They call shawarmas 'lomito arabe' which is, in essence, a extreme steak sandwich: beef steak, tomato, lettuce, onion, chimichurri (spicy sauce), mayonnaise and a fried egg. Yes, a fried egg, ham and melted cheese! t's not exactly a shawarma but they took the idea and it was adapted to the local flavor.

Today the weather in Asunción was insane: 122 °F or 50°C but right now it's a little bit better. I will take an Uber. Lomilito's it's located at: Avenida General José de San Martín and Teniente Héctor Vera. PARAGUAY, Asuncion — Street Food【4K】🇵🇾

10 Things NOT To Do in Paraguay

Get more Tips here!

The mountainous nation is one of the least visited on the continent, so it's less crowded. It’s easy to enjoy Paraguay, but it’s also easy to find yourself in a little bit of hot water. If you’d like to keep your Paraguay vacation on the fun side, here are 10 Things NOT to Do.

1. Social Engagements Won’t Start on Time
If you’re fortunate enough to get invited to a party or dinner. Show up about half an hour to forty-five minutes late and don’t expect dinner too early.

2. You Might Get Touched
In Paraguay the culture is much intimate. If and when a local does warm up to you, expect to shake their hands when you meet and when you part. You might even get kissed on both cheeks. It’s not a come on, they’re just being friendly.

3. Don’t Talk Negatively
No one wants to hear about it. Paraguayan residents especially don’t need to hear your thoughts on their political process. However, they would be thrilled to inform you about their country if you express genuine, unbiased curiosity.

4. Keep It Tranquil
In Paraguay especially, throwing a hissy fit or getting in a hurry is a good way to turn off the locals. The culture of Paraguay is focused on tranquility, so stay calm and you’ll fit right in.

5. Drink Your Mate Through the Straw
When you order the national beverage of Paraguay, mate, the tea-like bever-age will be served hot, with a metal straw in the gourd-shaped cup. The straw isn’t for stirring, you’re supposed to sip the drink through it. Just a head’s up.

6. People From Paraguay Are Americans, Too
If you’re from the United States of America, you’re a North American. The Unit-ed States of America does not have the sole claim to the title of American and some people in South America can get offended when you suggest otherwise.

7. Don’t Worry About Clearing Your Plate
If you're eating in a private home in Paraguay, do your best to eat as much as possible. However, you don’t need to clean your plate. Leaving some leftovers on the plate is a sign that your host has provided enough sustenance. It’s a sign of respect.

8. Machos
In Paraguay, the culture tends toward the macho. Men may very well make overt passes at you while you’re out having fun. If you’re not having it, just let them know in polite, but certain terms. Most of men would never willingly of-fend or upset a woman.

9. Tips for Business Travelers, Part 1

Show up on time for any meetings, but don’t expect to get down to business until at least 15 to 20 minutes later. It’s important that you are respectful enough to be punctual, but that you’re eager to enjoy the company of your cor-porate host.

10. Tips for Business Travelers, Part 2
In Paraguay, you won't start working right away, first you'll have a small talk. But, remember that the personal relationship you are forging is equally as im-portant as the professional one, so take some time to nurture that friendship. It can only help you out.

Where do you want to know what not to do in next?

FROM PARAGUAY TO PERU

Sometimes it feels like the time is flying...

It has been almost 3 months since we arrived in Paraguay and now it is time to move on.
Where are we going?

Based on the name of the video you have probably guessed that our next destination is Peru.

After watching it you will find out why we chose this country and maybe, just maybe, you will also want to visit it for the same reason!

In order to travel there, you don't need to be fully vaccinated, a negative PCR test is enough to cross the borders. So if you are looking for a place to escape the covid insanity or want to hide from an unfolding WW3 in Europe - welcome to South America! So far our experience in this part of the world has been great and I have a feeling that Peru won't disappoint us either.
