Libiąż. Jak wygląda Libiąż ? Jadąc z daleka widać 3 wieżowce, które górują nad miastem. Spacer po Libiążu należy do tych spokojnych, ludzie tutaj raczej uśmiechnięci a ulice nie zatłoczone. Piękne widoki jak dla mnie, które można zobaczyć z górki (po której jeżdżą quady) czyli kopalnię Janina a także pobliskie osiedle oraz panoramę Małopolski. Na drugim krańcu miasta ciekawa jest trasa w lesie, w którym jest kopania dolomitu - kto nie był polecam. Park Młodości w samym centrum osiedla także jest pozytywny, pomimo tego, iż śniegu tutaj napadało podczas spaceru :-) aż nadto, jednak wyszedłem z niego o 5 lat młodszy... Libiąż to taka pozytywna miejscowość bez wielkich atrakcji a więc i bez tłumów. Jest przemysł jednak nie aż taki agresywny jak na Górnym Śląsku.

Żywiec is a smaller but beautiful tourist destination that is worth a visit. You will be surprised by some of the unique things to do and places you can explore at this hidden destination.
You can definitely plan a few hours of a side trip here while traveling to Krakow or Zakopane. You might wish to revisit it someday again, to take a break and relax at Żywiec.
Żywiec is a city that is definitely worth a visit. In addition, the famous Silesian metropolis of Bielsko-Biała is located less than 15 kilometers to the northwest, but we will talk about it next time.
The Żywiec Archducal Brewery is one of the most famous and successful producers of beer in Poland. The history of the plant began in the mid-nineteenth century, when the decision was taken by Archduke Albrecht Friedrich Habsburg, the then owner of Żywiec to build a brewery. Many of the original brewery buildings have been preserved to this day. They were designed by Karol Pietschka. The Żywiec Brewery Museum astounds with modern solutions, where we will learn the history of the plant and the process of beer production.
Żywiec itself is really nice. It isn't too big. But it has a few tourist attractions!

This walking tour was recorded in Żywiec on a beautiful spring day in May 2024. The town is located in southern Poland, in the Silesian Voivodeship, in the deep intermontane depression – the Żywiec Basin, on the confluence of the Sola and Koszarawa rivers near the city center, and on Lake Żywieckie, at an altitude of about 345–350 meters above sea level. In 2022, the city had 29,878 inhabitants.
The name Żywiec is known to every inhabitant of Poland; the town has been famous for centuries for its beer production, but it has much more to offer!
Żywiec is often called the capital of the Beskids; it is an important tourist and recreational center as well as the center of one of the most beautiful and ethnographically interesting regions in Poland – the Żywiec Lands. Settlement in these areas dates back to prehistoric times. Traces of settlement from 2500 years ago have been found here. Meanwhile, locational documents indicate the founding of the city at the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries. The beginnings of the city's dynamic development date back to the mid-19th century, when, among others, a metalworking plant producing screws, a paper factory, and a printing house were established here, as well as the brewery Żywiec, founded in 1856 by Albrecht Habsburg.
The city gained a new face in 1967 when Lake Żywieckie was created by damming the waters with an earth dam in Tresna, becoming an important element in the dynamic development of tourism in the region. However, Żywiec is not only a brewery and a beautiful area; the city can boast magnificent historical monuments, including the Town Square with a fountain and the statue of St. Florian, the Town Hall, the Cathedral Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary from the 15th century, the Bell Tower from the 18th century, the Old Castle, the Habsburg Palace, and the Castle Park with the Chinese House.

🟠 Miedzybrodzie Zywieckie is a green, quiet village in the administrative district of Czernichow Commune, 12 km from Zywiec, the county capital , Silesian Voivodeship in southern Poland. Beautiful views, mountains and Miedzybrodzkie Lake with water bikes and kayaks. It's ideal place for water recreation, sailing and windsurfing. It's also a paradise for fans of bicycle tourism with designated bicycles routes. The most interesting place is Zar mountain. In winter attracts skiers and in summer hiking. The offer of the Bielski Poviat encompasses also other, interesting forms of recreation: paragliding lessons on Mount Zar and Mount Skrzyczne, as well as horse-riding lessons in the local studs.

American Visits Auschwitz Concentration Camp in Poland
A few weeks ago I visited Auschwitz concentration camp right outside of Krakow, Poland, which was the largest camp built by Nazi Germany during World War 2. Auschwitz is located in a town called Oswiecim, Poland. We decided to make a day trip to the camp during our time in Krakow. The experience as a whole was life-changing and I learned so much about what happened in the camp that I didn't know before. Auschwitz and Birkenau Memorial and Museum tour
In this video we visit two of the concentration camps in Poland, Auschwitz and Birkenau. We decided to book a guided tour with tickets online and found our own way there, the railway station in Krakow takes you to Oswiecim which takes about an hour and then it’s a 20 to 25 minute walk to the main site of Auschwitz, when you have finished the tour there, you can get the bus to Birkenau. It’s then around a 20 min walk back to the station from there. You could book a tour that picks you up from you hotel but it gets expansive, we prefer to use local transport wherever posible.
I’d like to say that this video is not a history lesson on Auschwitz and Birkenau, I just want to give you an idea of what to expect on a tour if you come to visit, the guides are very knowledgeable so will provide you with all the information you need and are happy to answer any questions, it’s all done via a Bluetooth headset so you won’t have any problems hearing your guide. There are some places where photos or video are NOT allowed. I will be keeping my chat down to minimum, I’ll just let the music set the mood. You really do need to visit these two sites to fully understand and get the feel for the atrocities that took place here, when in Krakow I think this is must on everybody’s list of things to see.
