What Is Chinese New Year Like in Rural Shandong?
For the 2022 Lunar New Year, me and my girlfriend travelled to Shandong. A friend invited us to experience the authentic and traditional New Year celebrations in her small rural hometown, and together we welcomed the year of the tiger with a trip to a local market and with lots of fireworks!
Inspired by this trip to China's northern countryside, I also challenged myself to speak Chinese throughout the video and to keep the majority of the content in Chinese. It was definitely not an easy task, but I am quite happy with the result.
Many many thanks to all the people who made this a very special Chinese New Year!
